Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s Havoc DLC Launch Dates Revealed

call-of-duty-advanced-warfare-havoc-dlc-01

The Havoc DLC for Call of Duty‘s latest is finally gearing up to release, and as usual, Microsoft will be getting it first for the Xbox One and Xbox 360. On January 28th down under (for the Aussies) or a day earlier for North America, the platform will receive the massive update that add in four new maps, as well as the highly anticipated Exo Zombies mode.

Here are the details you can sink your teeth into:

  • Core: Deploy to the Gobi desert where the ravaged ruins of a nuclear fusion plant set the stage for a high-octane warzone. Take down enemies through the wreckage in long-range combat or get up-close and personal in the tunnels surrounding the central turbine. Activate decontamination drones using the map-based scorestreak to help clean out the competition.
  • Urban: Prepare yourself for brutal, high-speed combat in Dallas Ward 3, a future mega structure, funnelling players into a close-quarters free-for-all. This modular compound’s verticality unleashes the exoskeleton’s capabilities. Stay focused during the timed event as blast doors alter the map’s flow and sightlines.
  • Sideshow: In the shadow of Devil’s Tower, Wyoming, this abandoned inn’s open layout amplifies its creep factor. Blast your way through the clown inn with close-quarters battles or use long-range site-lines from the mining facilities and natural terrain. Use the map-based scorestreak to activate the lights, music, and magic of the clown marquee and rain down a barrage of rainbow smoke-trailed cannonballs.
  • Drift: An idyllic ski resort high in the Rocky Mountains is transformed into a festive high-altitude playground, perfect for an all-out firefight. Make your way to the highly contested over watch in the glass observation deck or take a ride on the carousel to deliver 360 degrees of carnage. Players can use the map-altering timed event to their advantage as an avalanche of snow and debris disorients players, intensifying the battle.

Not bad at all. Look for this massive update to hit at the end of the month from Activision and Sledgehammer Games for $19.99 unless you have the Season Pass, and for those on Sony consoles and the PC, stay tuned as surely a date will come for your piece of the pie as well.

Kung Lao and Kitana Revealed for Mortal Kombat X

mortal-kombat-x-kitana-trailer-01

After not really looking much at Mortal Kombat X due to some questionable marketing that sucked the soul out of my enthusiasm, Netherrealm Studios have my attention as today, Kitana and Kung Lao have been revealed in a lengthy trailer. Like most clips thus far, this one shows off both characters with their fantastic looking new models, and I must say those moves look phenomenal with their new animations.

I have followed Mortal Kombat as long as I can remember, and since the reboot, the franchise has never been better than it is now, as Ed Boon has let his baby hit its prime yet again, which is why that gimmicky rap trailer just didn’t hit me where it should have. We are on the right track now, however. Watch the trailer below and get ready for that April release.

New Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Trailer Preps us for a Wild Ride

monster-hunter-4-ultimate-nintendo-direct-trailer-01

While the “New” 3DS is on everyone’s mind right now, it might be good to take a step back and think about a title that works for any 3DS, which is none other than Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate by Capcom. While we knew how great this title already will be (due to the quality in most of the franchise), Capcom stuck their foot into Nintendo’s little show today and gave us quite the tease, as well as a sturdy release date.

Featuring a vast world and brand new beasts to slay, Monster Hunter 4 looks simply amazing with the new trailer displayed today, and to be honest, a frontrunner for 2015 in terms of handheld experiences. Check out the clip below, and expect these beasts to hit the platform on February 13th.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse gets a Colorful New Trailer

kirby-rainbow-curse-01

At today’s Nintendo Direct, we saw quite a few trailers, but Kirby and the Rainbow Curse definitely wins the award for the most endearing of the lot. A new trailer released tells us a bit about the story this time around, which is rather simple in nature. All of the colors have been stolen from Dream Land, and it is up to Kirby and your stylus to get them back.

I am digging this clay look for Kirby as it seems consistent and very fitting, so if you are looking for a heavy hitter for the Wii U this year, look no further. Check out the clip down below.

As already announced, this title is completely original, featuring characters such as Tom Sawyer, Abe Lincoln, The Cowardly Lion and more in one seems to be a new spin on the Advance Wars franchise of sorts. Check out the dashing new clip below, and you can pick up Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. when it hits the 3DS on March 13th. Watch the video down below for more.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong Tipping Stars Announced with Cross Buy

mario-vs-donkey-kong-tipping-stars-screenshot-01

The Mario vs. Donkey Kong series is getting a brand new installment with the announcement of the finalized name being made during the most recent Nintendo Direct. Mario vs. Donkey Kong Tipping Stars will be releasing on both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

The game seems very similar to past entries in the series with players using the touch screen to navigate levels. User made levels make a return which can then be shared online. When users complete levels they earn stars based on how well they performed, players can use these stars to ‘tip’ people that made levels they really liked. As stars are used to purchase parts that make up the levels, this will help users who make fan favourite levels make more creations, sort of like a user defined quality control system.

In a nice move from Nintendo, if you buy the game on Wii U or 3DS you will receive a code to download the other consoles version free of charge. This will most likely be tied to the same Nintendo Network ID so buyers won’t be able to sell the code or share it with friends. You can view the whole European/Australia Nintendo Direct below, skip to 22:40 if you are only interested in Mario vs. Donkey Kong Tipping Stars.
