Rodea the Sky Soldier to Include Wii Version in First-Print Wii U Run

NIS America announced last month that they are planning on bringing Prope and Kadokawa Games’ Rodea the Sky Soldier to North America and Europe. At the time the company had only announced the game for release on the 3DS and the Wii U but they did not say whether or not the Wii version would be packed in with the Wii U release similar to how the title will be released in Japan.

That changed today when NIS America announced that they will indeed be packing the Wii version of the game with all first-print retail versions of the Wii U when it is released later this fall. It is worth noting that the Wii version was finished but never actually released, but it does feature Yuji Naka’s original vision for the title.

Gold Mario Amiibo Releasing Exclusively at Walmart

gold-mario-amiibo-01

Well it might have been predictable but I will take a second to say that I called this happening in an article I published several months ago about how well Amiibo were selling. Much to the excitement, or bane, of Nintendo enthusiast, Gold Amiibo are here and if you have tried to buy any Amiibo recently you can probably imagine that this Gold Mario Amiibo will not exactly be easy to find.

Popular U.S. department store Walmart are currently the only known vendor to be stocking the exclusive Amiibo and pre-orders have already sold out. If you live in the States all is not lost however, as Nintendo have promised there will be some on store shelves come March 20th as the Gold Mario and the entire Super Mario Amiibo Collection release alongside Mario Party 10. So if you haven’t secured a pre-order be prepared to wait out the store doors until opening with your runners on and make a dash to the games section. Alternatively you can pay some of the scalpers on eBay a handy profit, with the Amiibo currently averaging around $100 dollars U.S.

It should be noted that the Gold Mario figure will function exactly like the other two Mario Amiibo available. For the moment it does not seem there are any plans to release this rare Amiibo internationally but we are hoping it does come to other countries in the near future. What do you think about the hype around Amiibo particularly this latest Gold Mario figure? Let us know in the comments below.

Yesterday manga publisher Seven Seas Entertainment announced that they were going to launch a new tabletop games division. At the time they stated that they will be working on trading card games, strategy board games, and miniature games styled around anime.

Today they announced their very first game and launched a Kickstarter to see how fans would take to the idea and it seems to be a rousing success. The game they announced is a card game based off the Space Dandy anime, simply called Space Dandy: Galactic Deck-Building Game and while they were asking for $12,000 at the start, they managed to reach their goal in under half a day and have already reached $15,266 at the time of this writing.

Both FUNimation and Bandai Entertainment are supervising the project to make sure everything in the card games falls into the anime’s canon. You can read more about the project as well as the various backer tiers on the Kickstarter page as well as check out a tutorial video and trailer below.

Danganronpa 3 in ‘very early’ development stages

danganronpa-screenshot-11

We have some good news for fans of Danganronpa. Today during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco Danganronpa series writer Kodaka Kazutaka spoke with Polygon saying that Danganronpa 3 is ‘very early’ in development.

To be a bit more specific he said that “Until everything’s been written, there’s nothing that’s set. So to answer your question, it’s still very early because the scenario isn’t written yet.” This means that at least the game is being worked on though it will likely be quite some time before we see anything solid about it. For now, fans of the series can expect the action spin-off Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls to be released on the PS Vita in North America and Europe this fall by NIS America.
