Mark your calenders now as Yoshi‘s Woolly World is set to hit the Wii U along with its Amiibo kin on June 25th. Good Feel and Nintendo have been working on this Wii U gem for a good bit now, and have now released more information about the story, as well as what else you can expect such as the fact that there are over 50 levels to explore within the game.
Here are the details:
Once upon a time in Craft Island, a paradise located in the middle of Handmade Ocean, the peaceful lives of different-patterned Yoshis are rudely disrupted by the dastardly Kamek, who has kidnapped Yoshis by turning them into balls of yarn using his magic. Having escaped the surprise attack by this notorious villain, Yoshi must set out on an adventure spanning various Worlds, with beautiful landscapes ranging from lush woolly meadows to fluffy mountain peaks. And at the end of it all…well, Yoshi might encounter an even fiercer villain behind this pesky plot…
On this journey of discovery, Yoshi must Ground Pound, Flutter Jump, and gobble up woolly enemies, which can be turned into Yarn Balls – both big and small – to lob at obstacles and other enemies standing in Yoshi’s way. As a classic staple in the Yoshi platform series, Yoshi can also transform in certain levels, so don’t be surprised to encounter a fast-swimming Mermaid Yoshi, a quick-firing Sky Pop Yoshi aeroplane, and even a Moto Yoshi, where Yoshi turns into a high-speed motorbike.
But while Yoshi’s adventures will be action-packed, there is no time limit to finish each level, and if a level is getting particularly tough, you can switch the game to Mellow Mode at any point and play as Winged Yoshi. With the power of flight, Yoshi will find the action a little easier to manage! In addition, and in the spirit of two Yoshis being better than one, a co-operative feature allows one of your friends to join the platforming fun as a second Yoshi and play the entire adventure alongside you.
Keep a keen eye out for cool collectibles in Yoshi’s Woolly World, with Hearts to restore Yoshi’s life gauge, Stamp Patches that unlock stamps for Miiverse, and Smiley Flowers to increase the chances of unlocking a bonus game. Be sure to collect a horde of Beads, as these can be saved up to purchase Power Badges between levels, which when activated allow – for example – Yoshi to unleash powered-up Ground Pounds, or even be able to play alongside woolly canine companion Poochy. Meanwhile, for the full yarn-themed experience make a particular effort to hunt down Wonder Wools, as by finding all five in every level, watch as one of more than 50 uniquely-patterned Yoshis revives in front of your eyes! Best of all, you can then visit Yoshi Hut on Craft Island and choose to play as one of these many different-patterned Yoshis during your adventures.
This title sounds phenomenal from what we have learned thus far. You can check out the trailer for the game below and expect Yoshi’s Woolly World to hit the Wii U next month (along with a bundle that includes the green Yoshi Amiibo for just ten dollars more).
Although we aren’t at the stage of having our own personal robot servants just yet, Sharp electronics in Japan have begun pre-orders for the next best thing, a vacuum cleaner that talks like an anime butler.
A new model for the Cocorobo Vacuum is going to be released which will feature both artwork and actual voice over lines from Sebastian Michaelis, demon butler and Ciels bodyguard from the popular anime Black Butler.
The voice actor of Sebastian, Daisuke Ono, has recorded a variety of quotes from the series and original lines to really give the illusion of an actual butler; the vacuum can give you weather updates, set alarms and converse with you on certain topics. You can even praise the vacuum for doing a good job and it will respond positively, which is a strange feature to give a small circular dust collector.
Having your own anime voiced servant will come at a hefty price though, the Black Butler vacuum is currently selling for 150,000 Yen ($1248 USD) on the Anilpex+ website with pre-order finishing at the end of this month.
The video must feature the song “Leave” by Wavves as its soundtrack, and only that song.
Your video must be between 3 and 5 minutes in length.
The video must be published to Rockstar Games Social Club and tagged with the word ‘leave’ between now and 11:59pm ET on June 8th to be eligible.
For legal reasons, only residents of certain countries are eligible to win.
The video must be made entirely using the Rockstar Editor. We know that many advanced Rockstar Editor video creators like to use additional third party editing software but in order to keep this competition fair for all entrants, we require that you only use the Rockstar Editor in producing the video.
Wavves and Rockstar Games will choose the winners. In case you need a little inspiration, Wavves has provided the following statement on what they are looking for in the video:
The song is about leaving a bad situation. Whether that means a criminal enterprise or activity, or a bad romantic relationship, or something else entirely is up to you to interpret as the music video director. Just have fun with it and don’t be afraid to get a little weird along the way.
There are a ton of prizes to be won. The grand prize winner will take home
G910 Orion Spark Gaming Keyboard and G510 Proteus Core Gaming Mouse branded with both the winner’s Social Club ID and the Rockstar Editor Logo
$100 gift card to the Rockstar Warehouse
a prize pack of official GTAV swag
There will be two runner ups who will also receive the $100 gift card and the GTAV prize pack.
For those who aren’t in the mood to create a music video but want to free stuff, anyone who uploads any video to the Social Club during the contest period will get a The Loneliest Robot in Great Britain branded tshirt in game.
Atlus USA has announced that all pre-ordered and first-run copies of Dungeon Travelers 2: The Royal Library & the Monster Seal will come with a 17 month calendar featuring hand-drawn artwork of the game’s female characters. Since the artwork is similar in style to the artwork that will appear in the game, it will be fairly lewd from the looks of the image above but of course will be kept to an M rating.
PlayStation Japan recently revealed the official Persona 5 game page and with this official website comes a batch of high-res screenshots. It is worth noting that a large batch of these screenshots come from the gameplay trailer we saw back in February but a handful of them come from poorly shown magazines or thumbnails so it is certainly worth checking them out below.
As for the game itself, Persona 5 is still currently scheduled for release on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 later this year for Japan, and while no time frame was announced, Persona 5 has also already been confirmed for release in North America by Atlus USA.
