Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance’s Six Main Characters Introduced

Over the past few months before Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance‘s release in Japan, Nippon Ichi Software was releasing trailers introducing the various main characters in the title and now that the title is slated for release in fall for North America and Europe exclusively for the PlayStation 4, NIS America has released some English details for the characters as well as some character art that you can check out below.

While the main characters are introduced this time around, those who want to check out the Japanese character trailer for Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance‘s big bad, Void Dark, can find it here.

Killia
A young demon who seeks revenge, and has a long history with Void Dark. He doesn’t like teaming up. He seems very cold, but his kindness shines through when he helps those who are suffering because of the Lost. His calorie intake is very high, and he eats whenever he has the opportunity.
Seraphina
The Princess Overlord of Gorgeous, which is the richest nation in all the Three Worlds (Netherworlds, Celestia, and Human World). She truly believes all men exist to kneel before her. She ran away from home after her father arranged a marriage of convenience with Void Dark, who she now plans to assassinate.
Usalia
The heir of Toto Bunny, who dislikes fighting. Due to one of Void Dark’s subordinates, she was cursed to constantly have to eat curry or she will turn into a beast. Now, she actually likes curry. She has a very nice personality, which is unusual for a demon. She rides a yellow Prinny into battle.
Christo
An Overlord who is affiliated with a certain giant Netherworld. He is a gifted tactician, and will do whatever it takes to attain victory. Killia’s great magic potential caught his eye, and he views Killia as his best shot for assassinating Void Dark.
Red Magnus
The Overlord of Scorching Flame, where vicious demons reside. He is very wild, and believes that strength is everything. He is trying to defeat Void Dark to become the strongest Overlord. His Netherworld has been on bad terms with Seraphina’s Netherworld for a long time. He says “super” quite often.
Zeroken
A young Overlord and self-proclaimed heir of the legendary Great Demon Fist, Goldion. He appears while Killia and the others are fighting the Lost and helps them, even though no one asked him to. He can be stubborn, but has a flexible mindset, changing his attitude depending on who he’s interacting with.

Arc System Works Acquires Rights to Double Dragon, River City Ransom, and More

Arc System Works, the developers behind the popular fighting game series Guilty Gear and Blazblue, have announced that they have acquired the rights to all of the titles that were once held by Technos Japan Corporation. This means that the company now owns the rights to the Double Dragon series, Super Dodge Ball series, River City Ransom series, the Kunio-kun series, and a number of other properties that have not been listed.

At the moment Arc System Works has not stated what they plan on doing with all of these series at the moment but they have opened up a Japanese teaser website saying “coming soon…”

Your First Look at Dragon Ball Super

It may be under 15 seconds long but we finally have our first look at Dragon Ball Super, just under a month before the first episode series on July 5th in Japan, filling the Dragon Ball Kai time slot once that has finished airing. A few interesting points are shown in the short trailer. Goku goes Super Saiyan despite being able to turn Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan which turns his hair and aura blue. Does this mean he hasn’t yet learned the form or perhaps has control over which form he goes into?

Beerus and Whis are shown too so we know it will definitely take place after Battle of Gods, or perhaps they don’t actually meet Goku and his friends until later? Ok we really don’t know much more about Dragon Ball Super at all but it’s still good to finally seem some footage of the new anime series.

Another interesting point is Goku is also shown wearing the same outfit he was wearing at the beginning of the Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return special episode, which takes place two years after Majin Buu’s defeat. Maybe Abo and Cado will make a reappearance? It’s hard to say from just this footage but feel free to let us know your theories in the comments once you’ve watched the video embedded below.

Ryu and Roy Confirmed DLC Characters for Super Smash Bros.

The world is full of clever people these days and that includes people that can somehow hack update data and show us two new awesome characters that will be added to the Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS roster. Roy from Fire Emblem (returning from Super Smash Bros. Melee) and Ryu from Street Fighter will be joining Lucas from the Mother series to bring the number of DLC characters up to four. Roy seems to have retained many of his moves from his Melee iteration.

Ryu is perhaps the most interesting of the lot, being a third party character from Capcom and having never been present in a Smash game before. He has two Final Smashes, the Super Hadouken and a finisher Shoryuken which looks like an ultimate from Street Fighter IV. Which Final Smash is used will depend on your distance from the opponent. Rumours are going around that inputting his specials with their appropriate Street Fighter command inputs will enhance that move. Better get practicing that down, left-down, left, B input!

We are also getting two new stages. One is the temple stage from Street Fighter and the other is Kirby’s Dreamland, a returning stage from the original Smash Bros game. The Miiverse stage that was announced long ago is scheduled to release alongside Lucas on the 14th in the U.S. The leaker has posted a video below containing gameplay of all three new characters but we can’t guarantee it will still be up for viewing at time of reading.

Nintendo most likely plans to officially unveil this news in tonight’s Super Smash Bros. focused Nintendo Direct, but I now hope they have something else up their sleeves as it will be a pretty flat announcement if all we get is known information. Speculation of Roy and Ryu’s inclusion started months ago when sound files of the characters victory themes were found in the last update.

Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3’s Edit Mode Detailed

Koei Tecmo recently released a new batch of screenshots as well as a pair of trailers for Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3 which is set to be released as a digital download on the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita on June 30th in North America and June 26th in Europe.

The company also detailed the edit mode that allows players to create their very own character, offering a deep level of customization that allows for customization of facial features, weapons, armor, and accessories. For the first time ever, players will also be able to equip their own created characters with costumes of the famous warriors that they manage to befriend.

Tales of Zestiria also Launching on the Playstation 4 and the PC

Well, this is a nice move. Today, Bandai Namco announced that they would be bringing Tales of Zestiria to not only the Playstation 3, but also the Playstation 4. The game will also be seeing a release on the PC and Steam as well, so it looks like this publisher has quite a bit of faith in its brand.

Sure, this isn’t the biggest news out there, but for Tales fans who own a PS4 – you can now breathe a bit easier knowing that your beloved franchise is due to hit on October 21st. More RPGs are always a good thing, after all.

Focus Home Interactive and Deck13 Interactive to Create a New RPG

Deck13 Interactive (Lords of the Fallen) and Focus Home Interactive announced that they are currently in the midst of developing a new action RPG. It will be a brand new IP set in a dystopian sci-fi universe. Deck13 is promising innovative combat mechanics and a character progression system built around modular upgrades.

The game is set to launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows in 2017. A full reveal will follow in the coming days, but no specific date has been provided. The only other information is a promotional teaser that has a man with an exo-skeleton and cybernetic implants, including an implant sewn into the back of his skull, The Matrix style.

Turtle Beach Reveals New Products ahead of E3

Turtle Beach announced their new line up of products just ahead of E3 2015 today. All of the headsets should be launched from now until Winter 2015.

The company is breaking into the medical market with their HyperSound Clear device. It is a specially designed speaker and receiver set up for people with hearing loss. It can be used with or without hearing aids to improve sound clarity and speech intelligibility by sending a focused beam of sound to the listener.

On the gaming side, Turtle Beach is bringing their Winter 2015 line up to their E3 booth. Visitors will be able to get some ears on experience with the following new headsets:

EAR FORCE Stealth 420x Wireless Xbox One Gaming Headset – A completely wireless headset that is officially licensed by Microsoft for the Xbox One. The 420X features 15 hours of battery life, a synthetic leather ear pads, a high sensitivity boom mic, and four audio presets. The headset will hit stores in August 2015.

EAR FORCE PX24 Amplified Multiplatform Gaming Headset – The latest iteration of Turtle Beach’s multi-platform headset comes with a brand new amp. Dubbed the SuperAmp, it is powered by an internal battery and provides virtual surround sound, variable mic monitoring, and several audio presets.

EAR FORCE Stealth 450 Wireless Surround Sound PC Gaming Headset – PC gamers are also getting some attention from Turtle Beach with this wireless headset. It shares similar design cues with the 420X, but also includes DTS Headphone: 7.1 Surround Sound and custom audio presets such as Superhuman Hearing. The batteries are also rated for 15 hours of use.

EAR FORCE Recon 60P Gaming Headset – The Recon 60P is designed for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. It simply connects to the console via USB and features 40mm drivers, a high sensitivity boom mic, and in line controls.

EAR FORCE Recon 50 / Recon 50X / Recon 50P Gaming Headsets – These headsets are designed for the PC/Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 respectively. They are also compatible with mobile and tablets. They feature 40mm drivers, a high sensitivity boom mic, and in line controls.

EAR FORCE Recon 30X Chat Headset – Officially licensed for the Xbox One, the 30x is also compatible with PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, mobile, and tablets.

With E3 2015 just around the corner, Microsoft is sneaking in an Xbox Newsbeat before the big show. Which means I’m sneaking in to deliver your latest Newsbeat update while Andrew is away.

Porsche Returns to Forza with Forza Horizon 2 Porsche Expansion

Chances are, you probably will never be able to own a real Porsche, let alone ten. So live up the dream online. The “Porsche Expansion Pack” landed on Forza Horizon 2 this week, bringing ten classic models to the series for the first time. Some of the models available in the pack include 1989 944 Turbo, the 2003 Carrera GT, and the 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder. Additionally, there are 10 new Bucket List events, 10 new Rivals events, and 15 extra achievements in the pack.

New Xbox One 1TB Console Unveiled with Redesigned Controller

A new Xbox One console with 1TB of storage is launching. With 1TB, gamers will have plenty of room to jam in as many games as their hearts desire on their Xbox One, without having to worry about clearing up space. On the off chance you may chew through all that space, you can always add more hard drive space with an external USB 3.0 drive.

Additionally, the Xbox One controller is getting a slight update. A 3.5mm stereo headset jack is being added, making it a lot easier to find compatible accessories. For Windows gamers, a wireless adapter for Xbox One controllers will be launching later this year. Unfortunately, the adapter will only support Windows 10.

Introducing ‘The Coalition’ – A Message from Rod Fergusson

Rod Fergusson released a public statement to announce that the new name for the studio in charge of the Gears of War franchise.

“Hi everyone – I’m Rod Fergusson, former studio head of Black Tusk Studios. It’s not what you think. Beginning today, the Vancouver-based Xbox team working on the Gears of War franchise will be known as The Coalition. What’s in a name? In short, The Coalition speaks to who we are as a team, and what it is we’re working on.
A coalition is a team of diverse individuals working together for a common purpose, a concept that we feel describes our studio quite well. Fans will also recognise the Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG) from Gears of War lore.
When people hear 343 Industries, they associate it with Halo; when they hear Turn 10 Studios, they know that’s who makes Forza. Moving forward, when you hear The Coalition, we want you to think of Gears of War.

Microsoft Store Releases Xbox One Gaming Codes for Instant Play

Microsoft Australia announced that codes for Xbox One games are now available at the Australian Microsoft Store. These codes can be purchased and redeemed instantly for some of the biggest Xbox One titles on the market. The available library is growing quickly.

The Xbox One E3 Briefing will be held on Tuesday, June 16 2:30 a.m. AEST. Gamers can tune in via Xbox One, Xbox.com, Xbox 360, and Windows Phone. Major Helson and Acey Bongos will be hosting the hour long event that will be packed with trailers, major announcements, demos, and interviews. An Xbox Daily: LIVE @ E3 event is also planned on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday – June 16-18 and 9am AEST each day.

PC gamers will have their day with Microsoft during the PC Gaming Show on June 17 from 10:00 AM – 1 PM AEST.

Release Date and New Races Announced for Blood Bowl 2

Focus Home Interactive and Cyanide Studios have just unveiled another new trailer for the adaptation of the popular Games Workshop title, Blood Bowl 2. This new trailer discusses the new single player campaign mode. Additionally, the newly announced races are the Lizardmen and Wood Elves, both of which come with the preorder. Preordering also unlocks the ability to play in the multiplayer beta demo. Further preorder bonuses will be announced in the run up to launch.

The campaign mode itself is a story driven experience, revolving around the fall and rise of a single team within the Blood Bowl universe. The starting matches work as an introduction to gameplay, before the player is thrown into the deep end. A narrative plot will be affected by various random events and injuries that players on your team receive.

All this follows around the rich lore that has been long established for the Warhammer universe. Players will learn all the central mechanics, and get to enjoy them presented in narrative not previously present in the franchise. Blood Bowl 2 will be releasing on PS4, Xbox One, and PC September 22, 2015. Check out a trailer and an image gallery for the campaign mode below.
