Sony followed up with the announcement that they will be bringing the Until Dawn franchise to PlayStation VR as Until Dawn: Rush of Blood. Cevat Yerli then brought out the dinosaur packed game Robinson: The Journey to demonstrate parts of the game that was designed with PlayStation VR in mind.

During Sony‘s Paris Games Week press conference Guerilla Games debuted an eight minute long gameplay demo for Horizon: Zero Dawn. We have seen very little of Horizon: Zero Dawn ever since it was announced back at E3 but they did show a number of press members a gameplay demo and that is the same footage they have released today and you can check out below.

This footage shows off some of the game’s environments, exploration, and a bit of combat but for now the game’s story remains a mystery. Currently Horizon: Zero Dawn is set to be released for the PlayStation 4 sometime in 2016.

Tekken 7 Officially Announced for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

In an age where even the most niche fighting games are given retail releases, and a bit of a leak earlier this year, it was only a matter of time before Tekken 7 was officially announced for release on home consoles and that time came earlier today when Bandai Namco announced, alongside a new trailer, that they will be releasing Tekken 7 on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

It is worth noting that the developers have stated that the PlayStation 4 version of Tekken 7 will feature exclusive content and support PlayStation VR in some way though no details were given at the announcement.

Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 2 ‘Assembly Required’ Stealth Released Today

minecraft-story-mode-assembly-required-screenshot-001

For quite some time now Telltale Games has been pretty confident about announcing their episodic release dates at least a week or two beforehand but back when they started these type of releases they had an odd habit of releasing a new episode with no fanfare. Well, it looks like they are going back to their old ways a bit as the second episode of Minecraft: Story Mode, Assembly Required, was released today with barely any announcement until shortly after users found the game available for download.

Considering the “season pass disc” retail edition released today it probably was done so that those who picked up that version would find at least two episodes to play at the start. Either way, this fast turnaround on episodes is a pleasant surprise and you can find out the launch trailer for Assembly Required below.

Australia Getting Craft Brewed Beer for Call of Duty: Black Ops III Launch

Activision is continuing to think outside of the box to promote the upcoming launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops III in Australia. In fact, Australia is getting a special promo with the Call of Duty: Black Hops III – Midnight Pale Ale craft beer. The company has partnered up with Gold Coast craft brewers Black Hops Brewing to create a very special American-style pale ale.

“The beer is black in colour, but light and refreshing like a traditional pale ale, perfect for the Aussie summer. It’s made with an ingredient new to the market from the U.S. called “midnight wheat” a roasted de-husked wheat grain that provides a rich dark colour without the bitterness you would expect from a dark beer. It messes with your mind, a bit like the Black Ops storyline I guess,” says Head Brewer Michael “Govs” McGovern.

The 12 month old company’s range of beers are usually only found in bars around Queensland, but this partnership with Activision will be Black Hops Brewing’s big debut to the rest of the country. Buyers will be able to order six packs and 24 bottle cartons of Call of Duty: Black Hops III – Midnight Pale Ale at BeerBud Beer Boutique starting on November 2nd, 2015 at 1PM.

Those of us unfortunate enough not to live in Australia can still check out a brand new video starring the Black Hops Brewing crew talking about their partnership with Activision and their upcoming beer or check out their blog to get a behind the scenes look at the world of craft brewing.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III launches for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC on November 6, 2015.

Street Fighter V’s Release Date and Dhalsim Announced

Street-Fighter-V-Dhalsim-screenshot- (12)

Today Capcom chose to announce a few pieces of news regarding Street Fighter V with the first piece being the all important release date. Fans of the series can expect Street Fighter V to drop on the PlayStation 4 and PC in North America and Europe on February 16th while the second piece of news happens to be the confirmation of Dhalsim’s return to the roster.

Street-Fighter-V-Dhalsim-screenshot- (1)

Capcom also stated that over the course of 2016 there will be six new characters added to the title, bringing the initial character roster from 16 to 22 by the end of the year. Interestingly enough, rather than release these characters as DLC, players will be able to unlock these new characters, as well as additional costumes, challenges, and gameplay content that comes out over the year, through in-game reward currency called “Fight Money.”

Of course if you choose to simply skip that route players can also use real money to buy such content but all of this content will be released at the same time regardless of whether you wish to simply fight and earn the money or pay your way.

2K and Gearbox Software Unveil First Look at Competitive Multiplayer in Hero-Shooter Battleborn™

2K and Gearbox Software Unveil First Look at Competitive Multiplayer in Hero-Shooter Battleborn

Experience the Battleborn Open Beta first on PlayStation 4 in 2016

Sydney, Australia – October 28, 2015 – 2K and Gearbox Software revealed the first look at Battleborn’s three competitive multiplayer modes – Capture, Meltdown, and Incursion – through an all-new trailer during PlayStation’s Paris Games Week press conference today in Paris, France. Additionally, the companies announced that the Battleborn Open Beta is coming in 2016 on all available platforms and can be experienced first on the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system through exclusive early access. The Open Beta will also be available on PC and Xbox One, and more details will be released soon.

Battleborn’s team-based competitive multiplayer action can be experienced by up to 10 players online in 5v5 matches, and includes three distinct multiplayer modes.

  • Capture: Teams of heroes face off in a fast-paced death match and must capture and hold objectives on the map to win.
  • Meltdown: Teams of heroes must guide their minions as they march to their death at the center of the map. Points are scored for every minion who throws themselves into the incinerator, and the team with the most points wins.
  • Incursion: Teams of heroes must defend their base from waves of AI-controlled minions while working together alongside their own minions to destroy their opponent’s base. Tutorial videos for all three modes can be found on the official Battleborn blog.

Additionally, a smaller, closed technical test for the game begins this Friday, October 30th at 4AM AEDT on PS4, Xbox One, and PC and will give players the chance to try out Battleborn’s Meltdown competitive multiplayer mode, as well as experience a new Story Mission called “The Algorithm” with 15 of the game’s 25 playable heroes. Players can register to help test the game at http://rsvp.battleborn.com, and full details about the content that’s available in the closed technical test can be found on the official Battleborn blog.

On the heels of this news, 2K and Gearbox also revealed ISIC, the powerful spirit-mech, as a new playable character that is one the game’s 25 playable heroes. Once the lead manufacturing Magnus of Minion Robotics, ISIC abandoned his post to crash reality itself through the application of unthinkably complex code. Though debugged by Kleese, this Magnus is still regarded as among the most nihilistic and terrifying of the Battleborn. Complete details about ISIC are available on the official Battleborn blog.

Battleborn is not yet rated in Australia and New Zealand and will be available on February 9, 2016 for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, and PC. For more information on Battleborn, follow the game on Twitter, Twitch, and Instagram, become a fan on Facebook, subscribe on YouTube and visit http://www.battleborn.com.
