Currently Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 has been slated for release in Japan for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on February 25th and an English subtitled version is set to be released in Asia on that same day.

New Just Cause 3 Trailer Feature’s NME’s Band of the Year 2015 Kasabian

just-cause-3-screenshot-001

Avalanche Studios has partnered up with Visual Works, the team behind many of Square Enix’s jaw dropping CG cutscenes, and Kasabian, winners of NME’s Band of the Year for 2015, for a brand new trailer for Just Cause 3. The trailer is an excellent show of the game’s zipline/parachute combo and the series’ reputation for over the top action.

Set to Kasabian’s 2009 song “Fire,” the video kicks off with Rico Rodriguez dodging gunfire from a helicopter in a very nice sport car, before going off a cliff and evening out the score with the help of a rocket launcher and his zip line. Lots of explosion and destruction follow, though things take a bit of a silly turn with Rico disabling a cruise missile by punching its controls while he surfs on top.

Just Cause 3 is set to launch on December 1st for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows.

Unfortunately, the severed pieces were carried off by the Heroes who killed him, and some think that reassembling them could restart the war! On top of that, Chaika may not be who she claims to be, as there are others conducting similar missions all across the kingdoms. Is Chaika a dead man’s daughter, picking up the pieces for burial, or is there something far more sinister in the works? The winds of war are stirring and there are dragons waiting in the darkness ahead for Chaika The Coffin Princess!

The series will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on December 15, 2015. The DVD edition has a suggested retail price of $59.98 USD while the Blu-ray edition has a suggested retail price of $69.98 USD. Nintendo Downloads Bring Mario Tennis, Typoman, and Street Fighter to the Party

mario-tennis-ultra-smash-11

So there is a lot to talk about in the world of the eShop this week. Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash may be the biggest deal of the lot, as it brings a new spin to the classic formula for Mario Tennis and freshens it up on the Wii U as of tomorrow (Nov. 20th). If that wasn’t big enough news, Super Street Fighter II Turbo Revival Edition is also out for the Virtual Console for the Wii U, bringing the title back to Nintendo for this generation for $7.99.

street-fighter-ii-turbo-01

There is also Typoman for the Wii U, a title that we saw back at E3 that looks promising and is also a part of Nintendo’s Nindies line-up priced at an odd $13.99. Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon also launches next week, so there is that to get if you want a free theme in exchange for digital – which I am thinking will be the sleeper hit of the system for the year.

We also have Arc System Works’ Family Fishing and another title for the 3DS dubbed “I Love My Pony”, while the Wii U is getting Totem Topple and some bizarre beast by the name of Lucentek – Activate. Not a shabby week, and of course sales are happening, so check those out in the eShop or by clicking here. Enjoy the downloadables!

Xenoblade Chronicles X Nears Release with Details and Bundle Packshots

xenoblade-chronicles-x-screenshot-11

Xenoblade Chronicles X is now just weeks away, with a lovely bundle hitting Australia soon – as well as the regular game coming to the rest of the world. Yes, the story of Xenoblade existing in the west is almost as great as the game itself, but that is for another time.

Today, Nintendo of Australia want to give players a better glimpse of what to expect with a bit of a catch-up and summary of other news in one piece, with the online as well as single player detailed. Oh yeah. Screenshots too.

In this new RPG from the creators of Xenoblade Chronicles, players can create their own character and explore a planet five times bigger than the world in Xenoblade Chronicles. A rich variety of hostile wildlife makes Mira an inhospitable place, and players will need to master a deeply strategic real-time battle system to survive.

During combat, your avatar can switch between different battle classes that allow them to become more adept at long-range or close-quarters combat, as well as issue tactical orders to up to three AI partners. Party members will also advise players on when to use special skills, known as Arts, to boost their allies or blast away foes. Each class has access to different Arts, and strategic use of these can be instrumental in turning the tide of the battle.

Outside of combat, players can focus on the necessities of exploration and survival by taking jobs in eight different divisions. Those who want to focus on discovering the massive, open environments and scavenge for new materials can take a job as a Curator, while joining the Harriers will allow players to concentrate primarily on defeating the dangerous monsters that roam the landscape. Another choice, Outfitters, spend the bulk of their time helping to develop the giant weaponised mechs known as Skells. Eventually, players will be able to pilot the Skell themselves, allowing access to places they couldn’t find before, providing even more possibilities for exploration.

By using the Wii U GamePad, players can access the navigation system, which displays a hexagonal map grid to plot the course ahead to avoid ambushes from giant monsters, uncover new resources, and fast-travel between previously discovered locations. The game can also be played on the GamePad screen alone.

Xenoblade Chronicles X brings the series online for the first time, making it possible to team up and take on co-operative missions as a party of four. Players can also join a party of up to 32 asynchronous characters with whom they can trade items and weapons, even if they are not battling together. In addition, avatars created by other players can be recruited into your team as AI party members, providing you with even more avenues for strategy in the midst of battle.

xenoblade-chronicles-x-wii-u-bundle-01

Also, for AU/NZ peeps, the game will also be available as a bundle with a Wii U Premium Pack console* and as a Limited Edition**. Users who purchase Xenoblade Chronicles on Nintendo eShop on Wii U will be eligible for a discount (AU$13/ NZ$17) on Xenoblade Chronicles X if they buy it on Nintendo eShop on the same Wii U console*** before 18th December 2015.

Xenoblade is due out December 5th so mark the date and get ready for a brand new chapter.

Xbox App on Windows 10: Facebook Friend Finder and Other Updates Available Today

Today must be a day of updates, because Windows 10 is rolling out a new slew of updates for their Windows 10 platforms from today. The updates add the following functionality:

  • Facebook friend finder in the Xbox app and on Xbox.com
  • Record voiceover in your Game DVR clips on your PC
  • Record ANY game on your Windows 10 PC (including PC games)
  • Xbox Store section

Some of these additions may seem minor, but I can say with a fair amount of certainty that each of them will enhance the experience and just make gaming on Windows 10 a little more fluid.

The Planets of Star Wars Battlefront (…That Aren’t Hoth)

So apparently Star Wars: Battlefront came out this week, and if you are one of the few people who haven’t picked it up because they are still meandering your way through the Commonwealth in Fallout 4, then you might not be aware of the different planets that you can do battle on. Well thankfully we here at Newsbeat don’t like you guys being left in the dark(side) so here is the list of planets (that aren’t homes to snow and rebel bases) where your mettle, and accuracy with a blaster will be tested:

  • Endor – The forest moon of Endor is a lush, foliage-heavy environment, made iconic in “Return of the Jedi.” And while you won’t be playing as the cuddly, fuzzy Ewoks, you can recreate epic fights between the Rebels and Empire in their home. The Ewok presence is felt in the treetop village, which offers snipers some pretty perfect vantage points. One of the coolest things about Endor is the lightning-fast speeder bikes: You can hop onto one and weave through the legs of an AT-ST walker as you shoot down enemy riders who are speeding through the forest. Many iconic locations from “Return of the Jedi” become the stages for your battles, like the shield generator that Han and Leia blew up in the film.
  • Sullust – Sullust is a harsh, volcanic planet that “Star Wars” super-fans may be familiar with, but it’s likely new to many of you out there. For reference, the planet’s inhabitants – Sullustans, naturally – are those frog-faced aliens, most prominently seen as Lando’s co-pilot Nien Nunb in the end of “Return of the Jedi.” Home to an Imperial weapons factory, Sullust is the stage for Battlefront’s aerial X-Wing vs TIE Fighter dogfights. But the battle doesn’t stay in the air; players can drop down to the rocky, unforgiving surface to battle it out in different modes, inside and around the factory. Deadly Magma Troopers, Shadow Troopers, and heavy firepower make Sullust one ofBattlefront’s more explosive planets.
  • Tatooine – The home of Luke Skywalker, podracing, and Jabba the Hutt – not to mention one of the most iconic planets in the “Star Wars” universe – Tatooine has been featured in nearly every film of the saga. Heroes and Villains mode is a perfect opportunity to don the armour of Boba Fett, and hopefully not fall into a Sarlaac pit (although you can totally do that, and it’s awesome). Massive Jawa sandcrawlers, harsh open deserts, Tusken raider villages, and rocky canyons make up the set pieces for Tatooine.
  • Jakku – Another planet that may be unfamiliar to some, Jakku is actually the desert planet seen in the trailers for the upcoming film “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Jakku marks the first downloadable content pack for Battlefront, available free for all players on December 8 – just a few short days before the film comes out. The Battle of Jakku offer glimpses into what happens between “Return of the Jedi” and “The Force Awakens.”

Lots of exciting places to go, and rebel scum to eliminate! Star Wars” Battlefront is available now, and we will have a review going up shortly so stay tuned for that!

Minecraft Update Delivers Redstone, Rabbits, New Skins to Windows 10 and Pocket Edition

PC and console players of Minecraft have for the longest time been leaps and bounds ahead of the pocket edition of the game. Well now, the little hand-held version is making its own leap forward with a brand new update that brings some highly requested features. These features include;

  • Redstone Circuits
    • The .13 update is sure to light up your life by delivering one of the most player-requested features for Windows 10 and Pocket Edition – redstone. Mining blocks of this very useful, rare material produces a substance called redstone dust. This dust can then be used to carry signals between objects and build some of the more advanced items in Minecraft. Players can make a wire out of redstone dust by placing it on blocks next to each other. By adding a redstone signal and components, players can create anything from doorbells to switchable lights to mob grinders to rollercoasters.
    • The .13 update brings the first of three groups of simple redstone items to the Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition beta and Pocket Edition including redstone wires, redstone torches, redstone lamps, levers, buttons, pressure plates, tripwire hooks, note blocks, trapped chests, detector rails and TNT. But don’t worry- Minecrafters who’ve already mastered advanced redstone can look forward to advanced blocks like Pistons, Repeaters and others are planned in future updates with the final two groups of redstone functionality.
  • Desert Temples and Rabbits
    • Redstone is a huge, much-awaited update, but we’ve also got icing to put on top of the cake! While exploring desert biomes, players may find mysterious desert temples emerging from the sands. Built from sandstone, these structures offer adventurous Minecrafters a chance at grabbing some valuable loot – provided they can make it out in one piece. Players will also now find six types of adorable, cuddly bunnies hopping around their Minecraft worlds. We’ve invested the most sophisticated in revolutionary Bunny AI Technology to ensure that, just like in real life, these skittish bundles of fur will help themselves to your crops when they are hungry. Cute, but destructive!
  • Biome Settlers
    • The Biome Settler Pack I is also available now for purchase via the in-game marketplace – the first of a series of forest, tundra and desert biome-inspired skin packs, adds more than two dozen new character skins to the game. This new skin pack brings a slew of new settler characters like archers, hunters and brewers into the game, offering Minecrafters biome-themed skins they can use to role-play with their friends.
