What Sentai Filmworks Is Releasing in May 2016

Sentai Filmworks has a variety of anime titles coming out next month. The following list details all of their May 2016 releases.

May 3, 2016:

  • A Little Snow Fairy Sugar Complete Collection Sentai Selects Edition – DVD only. Episodes 1-26 are featured with dual language options. Extras include: “Snow Flower”, “Snow Flower Version 2”, the Japanese promotional video, Location Hunting, the Japanese television spots, “Interview with the Creators” and the textless opening and ending animations.
  • Azumanga Daioh Complete Collection Sentai Selects Edition – DVD only. Episodes 1-26 are featured with dual language options. Production sketches, a gallery and the textless opening and ending animations are included as extras.

May 10, 2016:

  • The Fruit of Grisaia Complete Collection – DVD and Blu-ray. Episodes 1-13 are featured with Japanese audio and English subtitles. The textless opening and ending animations are included as extras.
  • Strawberry Marshmallow Complete TV Series – DVD and Blu-ray. Episodes 1-12 are featured with dual language options. The textless opening and ending animations are included as extras.

May 17, 2016:

  • Akame ga Kill! Collection 2  – Standard Edition DVD and Blu-ray and Premium Edition Combo Pack. Episodes 13-24 are featured with dual language options. On-disc extras included with all editions include “AkaKill! Theatre”, Japanese promotional videos and the textless opening and ending animation. The premium edition will also come with a 100-page hard cover booklet and three original soundtrack CDs.

May 24, 2016:

  • Shirobako Collection 2 – DVD and Blu-ray. Episodes 13-24 are featured with Japanese audio and English subtitles. The textless opening and ending animations are included as extras.

May 31, 2016:

  • Log Horizon Season 2 Collection 1 – DVD and Blu-ray. Episodes 1-13 are featured with dual language options. The textless opening and ending animations are included as extras.
  • When They Cry: Kai (Season 2) Complete Collection – DVD and Blu-ray. Episodes 1-24 are featured with Japanese audio and English subtitles. The textless opening and ending animations are included as extras.

First English Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force Screenshots Released

The first batch of English screenshots for Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force have been released by Idea Factory International and alongside these set of screenshots the company has also released three pieces of character art and details for each of these characters. The first is Pippin, a strange Fencer whose biological origins are unknown. He’s talkative and nags others way too much. A sword is stuck in his head, but it doesn’t seem to affect him.

Second we have Pippin’s fairy partner. His human appearance causes people to believe he is a Fencer, while Pippin is his fairy. He is familiar with Pippin’s supposed father, Pappin. Finally there is Pappin, the creature that Pippin calls “Father” but whether Pappin is Pippin’s father or not remains a mystery. He’s an enigma with a strong allegiance to his path as a Fencer.

Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force is currently set to be released on the PlayStation 4 in North America on July 26th and in Europe on July 29th.

“The Future of Battlefield” to be Revealed by EA and DICE on May 6th

We are starting to approach a rather big industry event and although many companies aren’t bringing their A games this year, there are still plenty of others preparing to announce their latest titles. As such it doesn’t come as too much of a surprise that now that we’re a little under a month and a half away from E3 that Electronic Arts and DICE are looking for a special way to show off their next Battlefield announcement.

As such they have updated the official Battlefield website with a countdown timer that leads to the first look at “the future of Battlefield on May 6 at 1 p.m. PT / 4 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. BST. Currently no details about the next game in the Battlefield series are known but it has been stated that Creative director Lars Gustavsson and lead producer Aleksander Grondal will be there during the reveal event.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X Launches in North America in Late August

Sega has announced that they have nailed down a release date for Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X in North America and that those who pick up the game at launch will receive a special bonus. The title will be released both physically and digitally on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on August 30th with the PS4 version priced at $49.99 and the Vita version costing $39.99.

Those who pre-order or pick up a launch day copy of either version of the game will be given a special high quality microfiber Hatsune Miku pouch that is decorated with the symbols for the five auras that are central to the game’s new style of rhythm gameplay.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Leaked, to Include Modern Warfare Remastered

So far this year Activision and Infinity Ward have been keeping very quiet about what to expect from the next game in the Call of Duty franchise but it appears that they can’t stop a few leaks from happening now that we are growing closer to an eventual reveal.

The latest leak has revealed that the game is going to be called Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and although the company has yet to make an official announcement, a leaked Canadian ad has revealed that not only is that the name of the game, which will apparently be released on November 4th, but it will also contain a remastered version of Modern Warfare offering the campaign mode and ten maps for that title’s multiplayer mode.

Considering this isn’t official yet, you can take the above news with a grain of salt but for now we can probably assume that some element of surprise has been lost.

English Story Trailer Released for Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization

Bandai Namco has released a new English trailer for Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization. This trailer may appear familiar to some as it was previously shown off but this time around the company has decided to add some English subtitles so fans can know what to expect.

In this game a brand new VRMMO based off of what was left of the old Sword Art Online server has been launched under the name Sword Art: Origin. Unable to resist the temptation of revisiting a game similar to where they were trapped, Kirito and the group quickly begin to play the game and find that things have changed when they meet a strange NPC named Premiere.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization is currently set to be released in Japan on October 27th and has already been confirmed for Western release sometime this fall.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse Launch Bonus Includes Emblem Pins

Atlus USA has revealed that those who pre-order or pick up launch day copies of Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse in North America will receive a set of three metal emblem pins. Each of these emblem pins are around .75″ in diameter and from left to right in the image above represent Peace, Anarchy, and Dagda’s mark. In the game, Dagda is the god who resurrects the protagonist and leaves his mark on the hero.

For those who haven’t been following the game, Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse overlaps with the story from the original game and follows a Hunter cadet that is killed by a demon and resurrected by Dagda in exchange for his loyalty. Currently Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse is set to be released on the Nintendo 3DS in North America sometime this summer and it will be priced at $49.99 upon release.

Six Minute Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Trailer Released

Square Enix has released a brand new six minute long trailer for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and it features Task Force 29 counter-terrorism agent Adam Jensen narrating the events that took place leading up to the game. Players will learn more about Adam Jensen’s improved augmentations, which help to enhance his infiltration, combat, and hacking capabilities. Additional insights into the storyline will be revealed, and you’ll also discover both old and new acquaintances, all of which have their own agendas.

You can check out the video below and as for the game itself, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is set to be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on August 23rd.

New Black Rose Valkyrie Trailer Released

The second full trailer for Black Rose Valkyrie has been released by Compile Heart and in the video a number of characters are introduced as well as another look at the combat system. The company also revealed some new details regarding how to root out any of your party members that may have turned into traitors and have defected.

You see, thanks to the weaponry used by the characters in the game, it is possible that they will become infected and turn into what is being called a “Chimera Reserve” and in order to try and find out who may be turning, players will be able to perform one-on-one interviews with their party members. Players will have a limited number of questions to ask and will need to keep an eye on their responses in order to try and find any possible contradictions.

Currently Black Rose Valkyrie is set to be released on the PlayStation 4 on June 30th in Japan.

Genkai Tokki: Seven Pirates’ Opening Video and New Details Revealed

Compile Heart has released the opening video for their upcoming PS Vita RPG Genkai Tokki: Seven Pirates as well as some new information concerning the way the world map and dungeons will work. Players will be traveling the world map by riding on their pirate ship and will discover various quests and dungeons on the seas. When heading out into the field, the game will switch to a 3D field shown above allowing players to see enemies that they can choose to evade or engage at will.

Genkai Tokki: Seven Pirates is currently set to be released in Japan on August 4th and you can check out the aforementioned opening video below.
