FROM 1 MILLION WISHLISTS TO 1 MILLION COPIES SOLD. WARDOGS HITS MAJOR EARLY ACCESS MILESTONE

0

BULKHEAD’s 100-player tactical FPS surpasses one million copies sold as it launches into Steam Early Access

Derby, UK – 10 September 2026 – BULKHEAD and team17 today announced that WARDOGS has surpassed one million copies sold, as the 100-player tactical FPS launches into Steam Early Access today.

The milestone comes after huge interest in WARDOGS throughout its road to launch, with the game previously reaching more than one million Steam wishlists, just a month prior.

WARDOGS reached 100,000 Steam wishlists just three days after its reveal, passed 500,000 in May and hit one million wishlists in August. Now, as the game enters Early Access today, one million wishlists have become more than one million copies sold.

“To cross a million copies sold as we launch into early access is mental,” said Joe Brammer, CEO at BULKHEAD. “We’ve spent the last few months showing people exactly what WARDOGS is, what it isn’t, and at one point literally gave everyone ten reasons not to buy it. We didn’t want people buying into blind hype. So seeing more than one million people choose to jump in and play the game at early access launch means a huge amount to all of us.

But this is still early access. We’ve got things to fix, things we want to improve and a lot more we want to build. The best thing players can do now is keep playing, keep telling us what they think and keep giving us those ridiculous WARDOGS moments.”

Player feedback has shaped WARDOGS throughout its road to Early Access. Nearly half a million players joined the August Closed Beta, while the final pre-launch test peaked at 245,118 concurrent players on Steam.

The tests helped BULKHEAD improve performance and stability, while thousands of community clips, streams and videos gave players an unfiltered look at the game ahead of launch.

To celebrate the community, BULKHEAD is running the #WARDOGS100K Clip Contest, looking for the best plays, biggest fails and most chaotic moments from the game.

The best overall clip will win $100,000 in cash, with the rest of the Top 100 each receiving $100,000 in WARDOGS in-game cash. Visit wardogs100k.com for more info.

WARDOGS will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox in 2028, with players able to wishlist the game on both platforms from today.

Double-deck-building roguelite Shroom and Gloom brings fungal foes and dungeon crawling to Steam Early Access, available now

0

Team Lazerbeam and Devolver Digital are moldy with joy to announce that double-deck-building dungeon crawler Shroom and Gloom is available now for €14.99 on Steam Early Access.

Descend into the fungus-infected, hand-drawn depths of the freakiest dungeons you’ve ever seen in this unique roguelike, drawing from hundreds of cards across two distinct decks – Combat and Explore – to battle grotesque mushroomy monstrosities.

Every enemy you encounter is edible, every attack is infinitely upgradeable, and every run is an opportunity for unprecedented levels of card-based chaos.

FUNGAL FEATURES

  • Use the Explore deck to reveal, search, break, unlock, ignite, feed, and fix as you head even deeper into the game’s dark, dangerous, and oddly musty dungeons.
  • Use the Combat deck to hack, slash, roast, and eat the myco-monstrosities that stand between you and the mysterious underground realm known as The Gloom.
  • Hand-drawn art collides with rich 3D spaces, dragging you screaming into a surreal, visually striking world of mushrooms and madness.
  • Grow and modify your cards infinitely, transforming low level starting cards into powerful attacks, or rare cards into game-breaking superweapons.
  • Skewer, season, and roast fallen fungal enemies, eating them to restore health or tossing them into a pot and brewing up game-changing soups.
  • Hundreds of cards, deep meta progression, and scores of unique enemies spread across a dense network of caves and tunnels.

In this first Early Access release, players will find 2 separate paths (dungeons) to reach The Gloom – each with entirely unique card pools – 5 playable characters, and a whole bunch of quests to unlock new stuff. But this is just the beginning: as Early Access development progresses, more cards, enemies, dungeons, and a lot more besides will be added to the game.

You can experience Shroom and Gloom’s imaginative take on dungeon-crawling and deck-building now on Steam Early Access.

MASTER THE TIME-LOOP IN NOIR MURDER MYSTERY ‘THE POSTHUMOUS INVESTIGATION,’ OUT ON NINTENDO SWITCH, iOS, & ANDROID ON SEPTEMBER 17

0

The clock is ticking; every second counts in this atmospheric murder mystery!

SÃO PAULO, Brazil, 10 September 2026 | Publisher Critical Leap and Mother Gaia Studio are excited to announce that their critically acclaimed time-loop murder mystery, The Posthumous Investigation, is coming to Nintendo Switch and Mobile! Both versions will launch on September 17.

Your Client Is…The Victim
Play as a private investigator hired by a rather unusual client: an influential entrepreneur who’s already dead. The task? You have a single day to solve the mystery of his murder. The story unfolds in a noir version of 1937 Rio de Janeiro, where each suspect has their own routine, secrets and motives. Players observe characters, question their actions and use each loop to learn more about the case. When the day resets, take your knowledge with you through the time loop to stay one step ahead of the killer. In The Posthumous Investigation, death is the client, and time is your only weapon.

Gather The Evidence
Venture from dirty alleys to postcard-perfect sceneries, rummaging through settings for notes, documents, or anything that serves as a clue. This is a hand-drawn work of art. Once you’ve unearthed all the evidence, it’s up to you to piece it together and reconstruct the timeline; only then will you be able to properly accuse the culprit. Use the knowledge you gain from your different time loops to unlock new paths, confront characters, and break open their alibis. Utilize your “Thinking Board” to keep everything you’ve learned organized, before making your final accusation.

A Hand-Drawn Noir World
Your investigation sends you through a hand-drawn 1937 Rio de Janeiro that drips with style, sarcasm, and atmosphere. With the narrative reimagining characters and themes from the works of a Brazilian author Machado de Assis, there is no single correct answer for this world-weary detective. Every accusation has its logic, and the truth is yours to define.

Coming to Nintendo Switch and Mobile Devices
The team is thrilled to bring the game to more audiences, introducing new players to this homage to Brazilian storytelling. According to Bruno Toledo, Game Director of Mother Gaia:

It is a great achievement to bring The Posthumous Investigation to Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms, as people will be able to play anytime, anywhere. It will work for those who enjoy the comfort of the sofa, for those commuting through the city, or even for those in bed before sleep, and the important thing is that access will become more diverse, with players able to choose the platform that suits them best.

Gameplay Features

  • Master the Time Loop: You only have one day to solve the crime, but unlimited attempts to try new approaches and test different theories.
  • Question Everyone: Fourteen characters with distinct routines, stories and motivations can be observed and interrogated to uncover who truly wanted the client dead.
  • The Thinking Board: Track the progression of the case by checking your board.
  • Interrogation & Dialogue: As you move through the time loops, unlock new paths, confront characters, and find the cracks in their alibis.
  • Manipulate Routines: By observing and altering the suspects daily schedules, you can create new opportunities to gather information.
  • Hand-Drawn Noir-Drenched World: Enjoy a stylized, hand-drawn art style that captures the aesthetic of 1930s Brazil.

The Posthumous Investigation is out now on Steam. The game will launch on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android on September 17th. Pre-orders are open now.

Blackdoor’s Free Persistence Update Makes Every Server Fight Back

0

September 10, 2026 | To mark the start of Steam Programming Fest, Static Signal is excited to announce that Persistence, Blackdoor’s biggest free update yet, is now live for all owners of Blackdoor, available on Steam for $12.99 / £11.75 / €13.49. For fans of Hacknet or Grey Hack, this is the real thing, a terminal, real scripting, no shortcuts.

Even Blackdoor’s own website plays by the same rules, visit blackdoor.tools to boot up a real, interactive terminal and type your way through the site itself. A free demo is also available on Steam.

Play on Steam

The Persistence Update: Servers That Fight Back
Every server you break into in Blackdoor is alive now. Get sloppy while you’re still connected and the system doesn’t wait until you log off to notice anymore, it reacts in real time: rotating the account you just cracked, killing the port you got in through. Plant a script before you disconnect and it keeps working without you, ready to react the next time you’re back in-game and something it’s watching for actually happens. The people running these systems remember you too, push them too hard and they get harder to crack, or hand you off to someone worse. This is the update where hacking stops being a puzzle that holds still and starts pushing back.

“I love playing hacking games, and creating Blackdoor was my chance to contribute to that space and try my best to push it further. Scripting was my first idea for doing that. Persistence is the second, servers keep doing things in the background while you’re writing scripts or hacking somewhere else, and your scripts can keep working across multiple systems at once. It makes Blackdoor feel less like a collection of static hacking puzzles and more like something that actually reacts to you and your actions,” said Static Signal, the solo developer behind Blackdoor.

About the Game
You’re a hacker with a terminal, four terrible scripts, and an anonymous contact who needs files from places they really shouldn’t be. The scripts were free, and you can tell.

Your port scanner checks all 65,535 ports, which is thorough and also going to take longer than you have patience for. Your password cracker just brute-forces everything and wakes up the intrusion detection system doing it. Both will technically get the job done, the way a spoon will technically dig a tunnel.

So you rewrite them, and the new probe only checks common ports and finishes in seconds, while the new cracker skips guessing entirely and reads the admin’s own password hints straight off the filesystem. Nobody told you to fix these – you just got tired of using tools this bad. That’s Blackdoor – you write the code, the code hacks the servers, and better code hacks them faster, quieter, and before the trace catches up.

Not a hacking-themed clicker. An actual terminal.
There are no buttons, no “press X to hack”, no minigames where you rotate pipes or match symbols. You sit at a command line with tab completion, a built-in code editor, and the full set of commands you’d expect – and you write scripts in a custom Python-like language that was built to be fun to learn and satisfying to master.

If you’ve never programmed before, it’s more sink-or-swim than a tutorial – you’re straight into scripts that already work but could work better, picking up variables, loops, and functions by actually touching them. If you have, you’ll skip past the basics quickly and start writing proper tooling. The language is close enough to Python that your instincts will carry over. Either way, the regulars will accidentally teach you things by arguing about it in IRC.

The Job
Your contact goes by second_hand, who operates through #blackdoor – a small IRC channel populated by hackers, script kiddies, and at least one person who thinks printing “hello” counts as a proof of concept – and doesn’t do small talk. You get a server IP, a brief explanation of what’s on it, “good luck”, and payment on delivery.

You’re not alone in here
You’re never alone in #blackdoor. Hackers chat while you work – sharing tips, posting side jobs, placing bets on whether anon42 can find a port (he can’t). Your contact DMs you mission briefings, and the channel reacts when jobs get done. Like any real IRC channel, most of the advice is unsolicited and some of it is wrong.

#lounge is a live channel where real players talk about anything – help, questions, scripts, general chat. It’s not moderated in real time, though Steam’s text filter still applies.

Your code, your rules
There’s no right answer – you get targets and tools, and how you combine them is entirely up to you.

Key Features

  • Write real code: A custom scripting language designed for hacking, not buttons or minigames. Your code runs line by line, and you see exactly why it’s slow.
  • Hack servers: Probe ports, crack passwords, explore filesystems, escalate privileges, steal data. Every server has its own users, files, and weak points to find.
  • Race the trace: Every connection starts a countdown that speeds up the more noise you make, and getting traced ends it right there.
  • A real terminal: Tab completion, command history, a code editor – no theming, no skin over a menu, this is the actual interface.
  • Upgrade your rig: Faster hardware means faster scripts, better tools unlock new capabilities, or just save your money and write better code instead.
  • Story campaign: An anonymous contact, escalating jobs, a corporate conspiracy, and a secret that might be worth more than the pay.
  • IRC: Hackers chat, argue, and accidentally teach you things while you work, and side jobs and tips both get shared along the way.
  • Your approach: No fixed solution – write surgical tools or blunt instruments, find passwords in config files or brute-force them, and if you find a shortcut nobody else did, that’s the point.
  • Live community chat: #lounge connects you to other players. Ask questions, share scripts, compare notes.
  • Workshop: Share scripts and entire campaigns, download community tools, and see how other people solved the same problems.

Handcrafted to honour the pixel-perfect Amiga adventures of yore, Roguecraft DX’s scalable difficulty ensures that all are welcomed into Mordecoom’s dark embrace, regardless of skill level.

Watch the latest Roguecraft DX trailer:

Brawn, brains, and backstabs are yours to choose from, with the Warrior, Wizard, and Rogue class each offering a different gameplay experience and level of challenge. Pulverise your enemies into putty, atomise them with a thought, or teleport behind them to deliver a swift knife to the ribs, all to an original Amiga mod tracker soundtrack.

Each time your run ends, either by way of victory or the smothering grasp of slimy tentacles, the dungeon shifts. Every run has new layouts to navigate, treasures to discover, and scars to be earned that tell tales of glorious battle against formidable foes. These foes might sometimes just be quite angry chickens, but the people you regale with your stories don’t have to know that.

Once you’ve mastered the treacherous catacombs, a new challenge awaits. Know thy enemy, and be reborn; become the most pernicious of poultry, the eldritch egg-layer, the fearsome… Chicklathotep. In Chicken Run mode, cast off your raiment and enter the dungeon as a lowly 2HP chicken. Find a golden egg, however, and you’ll ascend from finger-licking fledgling to a horrifying, hulking hen. Unleash the poultry powers granted to you from the beyond and ascend the pecking order through a host of squelching Lovecraftian horrors.

Don’t be fooled by Roguecraft DX’s delightfully nostalgic aesthetic. Though it may conjure images of bulging CRTs and blowing on cartridges to get them to work, the entire experience is designed around respecting modern players’ time. With each adventure lasting 30-40 minutes, both new players who want a sample of Mordecoom’s delights and hardcore roguelike masochists who want to chain runs are well catered for.

Key Features of Roguecraft DX:

  • Three classic classes, each offering a totally different gameplay experience and level of challenge.
  • Every run is different, filled with new nooks and crannies to explore, potions to gulp, and unspeakable creatures to duel.
  • In Chicken Run mode, collect golden eggs that transform you from a pathetic 2HP chicken to a monstrous Chicklathohep.
  • See how long you can survive in the Endless Dungeon mode and rack up a new high score.

Roguecraft DX is out now on PC via Steam for the price of $11.99 USD / €12,25  EUR / £10.75  GBP, with a launch discount of 20%.

The game is also featured in a bundle with grid-based rhythm roguelike KAZ from developer Kalinarm and publisher HAKURO.
