The legendary Mega Drive shmup gets a ground-up Neo Geo reimagining with new mechanics, completely redrawn pixel art and 11 re-imagined stages
Andorra – September 10, 2026. Lock on, power up and prepare for high-speed arcade action as Gley Lancer: Overdrive blasts onto the Neo Geo and modern platforms. Developed by indie developer Nalua Studio, Gley Lancer: Overdrive is a ground-up reimagining of the classic 1992 Japanese Mega Drive shoot-’em-up Advanced Busterhawk Gley Lancer. This new game combines the spirit of the original with completely new pixel art and music, enhanced gameplay mechanics, expanded multiplayer and a wealth of new modes and features.
Built natively for Neo Geo AES console and MVS arcade hardware, Gley Lancer: Overdrive has also been enhanced for PC and consoles, delivering a modern take on the classic while retaining an authentic 4:3 Neo Geo presentation for players who want the original arcade experience. Gley Lancer: Overdrive will launch for Neo Geo MVS arcade board and AES home console platforms, PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 / 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Set in the far distant year 2025, players take control of Federation Navy pilot Lucia Cabrock, who commandeers the experimental Gley Lancer and ventures deep into hostile space after her father’s ship, the Oberon, is abducted by an unknown alien force.
A fast-paced side-scrolling shmup, Gley Lancer: Overdrive combines configurable Gunner satellites, multiple weapon types and firing directions with responsive movement, Speed Boost and the new offensive and defensive Overdrive mechanic. Whether playing to survive, chase the highest score or find the perfect balance between the two, players can tailor their approach across a varied series of stages.
Overdrive: Attack or Defend
At the heart of Gley Lancer: Overdrive is its new Overdrive mechanic, giving players a temporary protective field that can also be aimed at enemies in eight directions. Destroying enemies with Overdrive releases Cores that build score multipliers, creating a risk-and-reward system that lets players choose between playing it safe or pushing their skills for a higher score.
Reimagining a Classic
The original’s 11 stages have been completely re-imagined with new pixel art from artists whose credits include TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, Toxic Crusaders and Lords of Exile. Dynamic environments, new animations and redrawn cutscenes bring the action to life, while the iconic Mega Drive soundtrack has been reinterpreted and enhanced with a brand-new musical treatment, bringing fresh energy to some of the game’s most memorable themes.
Build Your Fighting Machine
The iconic Mover and Gunner systems return with new options, allowing players to configure their weapons and firing behaviour to suit their play style. New Gunner Mode, additional Gunner types and the new Speed Boost mechanic add further tactical options, letting players experiment with different combinations and strategies.
Built for Replayability
Multiple difficulty levels, varied enemy formations and a dedicated Bullet Hell mode on modern platforms provide plenty of challenge, while Score Attack, Boss Rush, Speedrunner, 1CC, Stage/Boss Select, Core Pickup Run and other modes offer new ways to play. Multiple endings add another incentive to master the game.
ExperienceGley Lancer: Overdriveat Tokyo Game Show 2026
Gley Lancer: Overdrive will be playable for the first time at Tokyo Game Show 2026, giving players and media the opportunity to experience the new Neo Geo shooter firsthand.
The game will be showcased alongside Necro Pop, also published by Nalua Studio, at Hall 9, Booth C35 at Makuhari Messe, Chiba, Japan, from September 17–21.
Two very different new games, both built from the ground up for Neo Geo and coming to modern platforms, will give visitors the chance to see how classic arcade hardware can inspire completely new experiences.

About Nalua Studio
Nalua Studio is an independent development team with a passion for classic arcade gaming, pixel art and creating new experiences for retro hardware and modern platforms.
The studio previously released Vengeance Hunters, a Neo Geo beat’em’up, and continues to explore new ways of combining the spirit of classic arcade games with contemporary game design.
Since migrating to Unreal Engine 5.7 earlier this year, the solo-developed tactical FPS has received major improvements to its environments, movement, infiltration systems, squad and enemy behavior, visuals and performance. Today’s update continues this evolution with the Tactical Phone, a new map, weapons and equipment.
Nantes, France, September 10, 2026: Helios Studio announces the release of a major new update for Black One Blood Brothers, available now. The studio is showcasing the ongoing evolution of its single-player tactical military shooter, currently available in Early Access on Steam. Following its migration to Unreal Engine 5.7 and several substantial updates since February 2026, the game takes another major step forward with new tactical tools, a new map, weapons and equipment.
Unreal Engine 5.7 lays new foundations For Victor, solo developer and founder of Helios Studio, Unreal Engine 5.7 provided a stronger foundation for evolving the game’s systems, environments and tactical gameplay. Since the migration, Black One Blood Brothers has received upgraded lighting and rendering, denser vegetation, enhanced weather effects and a new water system. Ongoing optimization has also improved CPU performance and added support for technologies including NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR 4, Intel XeSS 3 and Frame Generation.
The migration has also supported broader changes to how players, squad members and enemies interact with increasingly complex environments.
More mobility and tactical options Recent updates have opened up new tactical approaches across the battlefield, both vertically and through the environment itself. Ladders create new routes, vantage points and flanking opportunities, while tactical swimming turns rivers, coastlines and other bodies of water into viable infiltration paths, allowing players to bypass patrols, approach objectives from unexpected angles or launch assaults from the water. Squad navigation and behavior have evolved alongside these systems, enabling teammates to better follow the player across these more varied routes and terrain.
Redesigned environments These new systems have enabled Victor to substantially rework several maps. The Gabriel became Gabriel Harbor, a larger port environment designed around new infiltration possibilities. Residential House evolved into Residential Neighborhood, a broader area focused on close-quarters combat and building clearing. Valenwood Villa, now Sullivan’s Bachelor Pad, was rebuilt as an isolated mountain environment and now hosts Mission 11 of the main campaign.
The level design of several other existing maps has also been improved, including Elegance Airport, Jin-Shu Temple, Old Fortress, Enila Islands: Tanavia and Talmio.
Today’s update continues this work with a brand-new map “Kozol-Tai Mountains” featuring dense forests, rocky terrain, waterways and long sightlines, creating new opportunities for reconnaissance, infiltration and combat.
Improved enemy and squad behavior Helios Studio has also continued refining enemy and squad behavior, navigation and pathfinding. Enemies react more naturally to suspicious activity, while their combat behavior, accuracy and detection systems have been improved.
Lighting now plays a greater role in concealment and enemy awareness, making positioning and observation especially important during night operations.
The Tactical Phone One of the new additions to the game is the Tactical Phone, a field tool providing access to a detailed tactical map without requiring constant reliance on traditional HUD elements. It is designed to support a more immersive, milsim-oriented experience.
The update will also add new weapons, equipment and operator gear, giving players more ways to prepare their squad and tailor loadouts to each mission. Together, these additions reflect several months of development focused on giving players more freedom to read the battlefield, coordinate their squad and create their own tactical solutions.
Victor, solo developer and founder of Helios Studio, commented: “The migration to Unreal Engine 5.7 was an investment in the future of Black One. It gave me a stronger foundation to keep developing the game and revisit systems that were already in place. Since then, each update has allowed me to push the maps, movement, enemy and squad behavior, and player options further. My goal remains to give players as much freedom as possible to develop their own tactical approach.”
The next Black One Blood Brothers new game update launches on September 9, 2026, on Steam, with full patch notes available alongside the release.

Stockholm, Sweden — September 8, 2026 | Maximum Entertainment today announced In Control: Rocketry, a spaceflight simulator developed by Electromechanical Softworks. The game gives players complete control over every aspect of an orbital journey, from bolting together the rocket to wiring the panel that steers it. Coming to PC via Steam, In Control: Rocketry is built on realistic physics and propulsion systems, and asks one simple question: could you actually fly this thing?
Watch the In Control: Rocketry reveal trailer below:
In Control: Rocketry has players design a spacecraft from thrusters, fuel tanks and capsules, then build the control panel that operates it, wiring together sensors, inputs and outputs before testing the whole assembly and adjusting until it holds its flight path. Once airborne, players fly the craft themselves: working the panel, managing resources, and steering toward a destination using real orbital mechanics.
In Control: Rocketryfeatures:
Construct Your Rocket: Combine thrusters, fuel tanks and capsules into a spacecraft, where every part’s purpose and mass changes how it flies.
Wire Your Own Control Panels: Connect sensors, inputs and outputs to make the rocket fly.
Explore a Solar System: Orbit an Earth-like planet, travel to its moon, and journey to the far reaches of space landing, or crashing, onto strange new worlds, each with its own challenges and puzzles.
Progress unlocks genuine rocket and control panel parts that open up new destinations, while asteroids can be redirected and mined for resources. Missions run both unmanned and manned, the latter adding life support to everything else a pilot is already juggling. For players who would rather experiment than plan, Sandbox Mode is a place to test rocket ideas, practice flying, or build purely for the fun of it.
In Control: Rocketry will release on PC via Steam in 2027. For more information, visit maximument.com/games/incontrolrocketry or follow @MaximumEntmt on X.

BrokenLore: DON’T LIE Brings a New Psychological Nightmare to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S Today
Watford, UK – 10th September 2026: Indie publisher Wired Productions and horror specialists Serafini Productions are thrilled to announce that psychological horror game BrokenLore: DON’T LIE is out now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The latest chapter in the interconnected BrokenLore universe follows Junko, an isolated young woman whose fragile grip on reality begins to unravel as an unseen presence reacts to the player’s behaviour.
Watch launch trailer:
Abandoned by her mother and raised by a father who was physically present but emotionally distant, Junko learned to retreat rather than connect. After her rare attempts to form relationships ended in rejection and humiliation, she withdrew completely.
As lies, medication, and buried memories distort the world around her, familiar spaces become manifestations of fear and emotion, forcing Junko to confront experiences that refuse to remain hidden.
Featuring original Japanese voice acting, DON’T LIE tells a complete story while revealing another perspective on the events of BrokenLore: DON’T WATCH. Players previously encountered Junko digitally, but this chapter places them directly inside her experience, adding new context to the characters and events connecting both games.
“I’m feeling a mix of excitement and nerves now that the game is finally about to launch. We’ve been working on it for a long time, so reaching this point and finally being able to share it with players feels very special.” said Sebastiano Serafini, the creator of Serafini Productions. “There is also something quite personal about this launch for us because DON’T LIE is connected to DON’T WATCH and continues a story that started with Shinji. I’m excited to see how people will react to Junko’s story and to the way the game expands the connections within BrokenLore. The story explores themes like isolation, trauma, addiction, and distorted perception, and there are many environments and sequences that we put a lot of care into making meaningful and visually memorable.”
Players can expect:
A Japanese first-person psychological horror experience focused on exploration, investigation, and tension
A deeply personal story exploring trauma, loneliness, and emotional isolation
Distorted environments shaped by memory, fear, and perception
An unseen presence that responds to player behaviour
BrokenLore: DON’T LIE is out now on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, priced from $15.99 / £12.99 / €15,99. To celebrate the release, the game is available with a 10% discount for a limited time. More information can be found via the official Discord and Wired site.

September 10, 2026 | Glass City Games is excited to announce Nights of Nil, a top-down action-strategy adventure coming to Steam. The King has ordered the reclamation of Nil, a forgotten archipelago seized by a necromancer years ago, and it’s up to you to answer the call.
A new announcement trailer has been revealed, and a free playable demo is available now on Steam.
Fans of Core Keeper, Kingdom Two Crowns, or Age of Mythology will find a familiar blend of combat, colony management, and survival mechanics. Switch between any villager, build settlements, survive escalating night raids, and uncover the secrets of the ancient Nexuses to break the necromancer’s hold.
About the Game
Take Direct Control Nights of Nil combines action gameplay with settlement management. Switch between any villager in your settlement and take direct control of their abilities:
Gather wood, stone, food, and other resources
Fight goblins, slimes, barbarians, raiders, and undead monstrosities
Build homes, farms, barracks, outposts, and defenses
Explore ruins, discover hidden locations, and complete objectives
Assign villagers to jobs, then leave them to work autonomously
Every survivor is part of the settlement, but any one of them can become your character at a moment’s notice
Reclaim Each Island Every island follows a focused progression from survival to liberation.
Find the island’s remaining inhabitant and complete their quest chain to earn their trust. Their knowledge will deliver the key to activate the Nexus, the ancient structure the necromancer has corrupted to control the island. Then prepare your settlement, recruit your forces, and face the necromancer himself.
When the necromancer is defeated, he retreats to the next island, leaving the land behind him reclaimed. The survivors you meet may join your traveling roster, bringing new abilities and stories to the campaign.
Survive the Nights The nights are the pressure that drives your campaign forward.
Your well is the heart of every settlement, it marks your building boundary and it’s where you recruit new villagers.
As darkness falls, monsters emerge from the wilds and raid your settlement, targeting your well and threatening everything you have built. The longer you remain on an island, the stronger these attacks become.
Build defenses, recruit soldiers, expand your settlement’s influence, and decide when you are ready to activate the Nexus and face its challenge. Waiting can give you time to prepare, but it also gives the necromancer’s forces time to grow stronger.
Build a Civilization Resources, recruits, and knowledge carry across your entire journey through Nil.
Recruit workers, governors, warriors, rangers, knights, and unique characters
Build outposts to expand your settlement’s territory and improve access to resources
Protect your governors, who are essential to growing your population
Bring your best villagers with you to help reclaim future islands
Every island adds to the strength of your civilization, but every loss makes the next one harder.
Drive Back the Necromancer He is not a series of disconnected bosses. He is the same enemy throughout the entire campaign.
He appears at each Nexus with new abominations and a growing desperation to hold onto Nil. Defeat his minions and he will retreat, taunting you, warning you, and waiting on the next island.
Pursue him across the archipelago and dismantle his staging ground one Nexus at a time.
