Wargaming Helps Restore Stalwart KV-1 Tank

Wargaming Helps Restore Stalwart KV-1 Tank

A new video shows how this iconic Soviet tank was discovered and restored

August 31, 2016 — The KV-1 is one of the most iconic tanks in Soviet World War II history, and over the past several months, Wargaming, along with The Historical and Cultural Complex Stalin Line, have been busy restoring the vehicle to fully working order. To document this journey, Wargaming has produced a special video.

In November 2015, fragments of the legendary KV-1 were discovered and salvaged from a bog in the Vitebsk region, Belarus. The salvage crew discovered a turret equipped with a rare L-11 gun, and fragments of the running gear—a sprocket wheel with two road wheels on the right side, and a part of the hull’s underside. As restoration work on the tank began, the hull was recreated on the basis of the ISU-152.

The project was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of when Zinoviy Kolobanov and his crew put 22 German tanks out of commission during the Battle of Krasnogvardeysk. His feat is also remembered in World of Tanks with the special Kolobanov’s medal. The restored KV-1 has now become part of the museum’s vehicle collection and will participate in historical reenactments.

“Preserving history is in Wargaming’s DNA,” said Alexander Bobko, Head of Global Special Projects at Wargaming. “Earlier this year, Wargaming refurbished and transported the rare AC-1 Sentinel tank from the USA to its homeland in Australia. We’re always searching for new ways to bring history to life and share it with the public, and the KV-1 restoration and documentary is another initiative we’re excited about.”

You can discover how the KV-1 was restored in this video:

AZEROTH BURNS UNDER THE SHADOW OF THE LEGION— NEW WORLD OF WARCRAFT EXPANSION NOW LIVE!

Master the Demon Hunter hero class, take up mighty Artifact weapons, and unlock the mysteries of the Broken Isles in the latest chapter of the Warcraft saga

Sydney, Australia—August 31, 2016—A storm of fel fire rains from the heavens, and demonic armies flood into Azeroth in terrifying numbers. The Burning Legion has returned, and the sixth expansion to Blizzard Entertainment’s acclaimed massively multiplayer role-playing game, is now live!

In Legion, Azeroth faces complete obliteration as the warlock Gul’dan brings forth a demonic army more powerful than any the Horde and the Alliance have ever faced. To stop the Legion’s destructive crusade, Azeroth’s defenders must embark on a quest to unlock the mythic secrets of the Broken Isles, seek out and master Artifact weapons of legendary might, and rally like-minded champions to their cause in their Order Halls. In this desperate hour, they must also strike a forbidden pact with the outcast Demon Hunters of the Illidari, fel-twisted disciples of the dreaded Illidan the Betrayer. Should the heroes of Azeroth fail… kingdoms will burn.

“We’re excited to return to one of Warcraft’s core conflicts—the ongoing war against the Burning Legion—and send players on their most epic adventure yet,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We’ve filled Legion with features and content that give players whole new ways to experience World of Warcraft, including a brand-new hero class, awesome Artifact weapons that unlock a new progression path, and more freedom to explore than ever before. We can’t wait for players to see everything in store in this expansion.”

World of Warcraft: Legion introduces a host of new features and content to aid heroes in their quest to save Azeroth:

  • New Continent: The Broken Isles—Explore new zones that dynamically scale to your level. Brave the vrykul realm of Stormheim, where mythic titan Keepers clash for control; unlock the secrets of the night elf ruins of Azsuna; free Val’sharah from the grip of the Emerald Nightmare—your path is yours to forge.
  • Boost to Level 100—Head straight to the front lines of the battle against the Legion with an included level 100-character boost. Try out different classes before you commit to boosting, with Legion’s new Class Trial feature.
  • New Feature: Order Halls—Gather with fellow members of your class and plan your resistance against the Legion. Command troops and champions of your order—including iconic Warcraft characters—to carry out missions to further your cause.
  • New PvP Honour System—Earn new PvP-specific powers as you advance through the new Honour system, and earn rewards that benefit you whether you’re in the Arena, on the Battlegrounds, or engaging in PvE content.
  • New Feature: World Quests—Experience a vast and ever-changing array of adventures for max-level characters. Hunt for rare treasures, spontaneously join forces to conquer elite bosses, and much more.

H1Z1®: King of the Kill® Launches From Steam Early Access for Windows PC on Sept. 20

H1Z1®: King of the Kill® Launches From Steam Early Access for Windows PC on Sept. 20

A complete overhaul of the map, new scoring system with Season play, Twitch integration and more define the new experience of Daybreak Games’ fast-paced survival shooter

SAN DIEGO – Aug. 30, 2016 – Daybreak Games has announced that the massively multiplayer survival shooter H1Z1®: King of the Kill® will officially release out of Steam Early Access for Windows PC on Sept. 20, 2016.

LARRY’S TAKE: “You could make top 60 in one match and top five in the next; the drama of that competition makes King of the Kill extremely entertaining to play and watch. The game is inherently competitive, but by design all players have a chance of claiming the coveted number one spot, not just the elite. The feeling you get when you outlast hundreds of other players – it is what drives players to compete – and you can’t get it anywhere else.” – Larry LaPierre, SVP of Games at Daybreak Games

H1Z1: King of the Kill has greatly evolved over its course in Early Access as a result of feedback from the community, including overhauls to the combat and vehicle systems, the addition of Skirmishes, and changes to the toxicity system. At launch, players can expect new features and updates that transform King of the Kill from a working Early Access title into a fully realized, highly intense multiplayer shooter.

KEY LAUNCH FEATURES:

  • The Arena, a Totally Revamped World Map – This larger map is designed to improve the pace and performance of matches overall, with additional points of interest for showdowns and surprises, better loot distribution for player spawns, and greatly improved graphics and lighting.
    • The Arena will be a focal point of action for those playing H1Z1: King of the Kill at PAX West this weekend at Booth #1909, and later when some of Twitch’s top streamers and players compete in the second annual H1Z1 Invitational on Oct. 2, 2016 at TwitchCon.
  • New UI – A fully redesigned and more intuitive user interface speeds the flow of movement and action. The HUD has been made more effective at relaying important player information moment to moment, inventory management has been simplified, and preset skin loadouts enable instant skinning, giving players more control over their character customization.
  • Training Mode – This special mode allows new players to get familiar with the game and gives existing players a chance to warm up before jumping into a full match. In Training Mode, players automatically respawn after death, allowing them to get back to the fight more quickly to hone their skills.
  • Twitch Integration – At launch, players will be able to connect their Twitch and Daybreak accounts, making it easier for streamers to invite viewers to team matches and for fans to find popular and up-and-coming players to watch online.
  • Scoring System – Progression outside of matches is evolving to foster the natural competitive spirit of the H1Z1: King of the Kill community. A new and more dynamic scoring system after each match will award points to players based on their placement, their kill total and when in the match those kills took place, with higher points going to kills that take place later on. This new system will give players immediate feedback on their performance, as well as the opportunity to earn in-game rewards. It will apply only to solo matches at launch.
  • Seasons – For those that crave further competition, Seasons will allow players to feel confident in their wins and resilient in their losses by better tracking their progress and accumulating their top 10 best game scores, as well as providing in-game rewards. Seasons will last for a pre-determined timeframe, during which a player’s score will be accumulated based on how well they do in matches. The specific length of a Season will be determined after player feedback during the pre-season, which will be announced at a later date.

PRODUCER’S LETTER: For more information about the game’s launch features and a console update, read Executive Producer Chris Wynn’s message to the community here: https://www.h1z1.com/king-of-the-kill/news/h1z1-producers-letter-august30

H1Z1: King of the Kill will focus on continuing to escalate its last-person-standing thrills with solo and team-based matches, while exploring fresh challenges through new Skirmish types that feature changing rule sets and rewards. The game’s future also includes further embracing of player competition with greater support for structured organized play, tournaments and more. Players can expect continued support through new game updates after release.

H1Z1: King of the Kill will officially launch on Sept. 20 for $29.99 on PC, but will remain at $19.99 throughout Steam Early Access. More information leading up to release can be found at www.h1z1.com/kotk, as well as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Twitch.

FRIMA STUDIOS’ TALENT NOT INCLUDED NOW AVAILABLE ON STEAM

Prepare for drama and lots of laughs!

Quebec, Canada – August 30th, in the year 2016 – Hear ye, hear ye, faithful subjects! Frima Studios, Canada’s leading independent game developer, announced today that Talent Not Included is now available on Steam for $10.39 (a 20% launch discount for a week!). Talent Not Included is a humor-filled action-combat platformer that takes place in the land of Notthatmuchfurther, where players encounter three monsters: Zordok, Derp and Kevin, Shakespeare aficionados who love slaughter and bloodbaths! Brace yourselves, for the play won’t exactly be a walk in the park.

Thou shalt watch the Talent Not Included launch trailer HEREhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOslQ4uHXPE&feature=youtu.be

Talent Not Included begins on a night where the three monster friends, bored out of their minds, decided to put on their very own dramatic performance, a.k.a. a play. Unfortunately, nothing went as planned… Mostly because Zot, a demonic critic hired as stage director, enlisted three mediocre actors who all had very strong personalities to star in the show, hoping to create hell on stage for his and the public’s amusement.

Thou shalt discover Talent Not Included’s gameplay features:

  • Theatrical setting
  • Absurd humor
  • Cylinder-based platforms
  • Combat galore
  • Local co-op play

Talent Not Included is available on Steam for $10.39! If you are interested in reviewing the game, please email Danitra Alomia ([email protected]).
