Dishonored: Death of the Outsider Announced at E3 2017

The next Dishonored game isn’t Dishonored 3 quite yet. Built on Dishonored 2, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider is a stand alone expansion starring Billie Lurk and her mentor Daud. The pair is looking to kill the god like creature known as The Outsider as punishment for being instrumental in the Empire’s dishonourable behaviour. Lurk’s adventure will take her into Karnaca’s underbelly, where illegal fight clubs and black magic cults are open for business.

Billie Lurk’s arsenal will be filled with a fresh batch of abilities, gadgets, and weapons. In the Original Game + mode, players will be able to add some of Dishonored 2’s signature abilities to Lurk’s arsenal. Players will have the option of being the predator in the shadows or sneaking past unsuspecting enemies and avoiding confrontation. Like in previous Dishonored titles, actions have consequences as the story will change based on the players choices.

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider is set to launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows on September 15, 2017.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Features Playable Coco Bandicoot

While waiting for Sony to kick off their E3 2017 press conference Activision debuted the gameplay launch trailer for Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy with a ‘Better With Crashitude’ trailer that has revealed that they will be adding Coco Bandicoot as a playable character, marking her first time as a playable character outside of the various mini-game spin-offs such as the racing games.

Creation Club Bringing Paid 3rd Party Content to Fallout 4 and Skyrim

During their E3 2017 presentation, Bethesda announced Creation Club will be coming to Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One this summer. The program will offer a way for content creators to work with Bethesda to create new content to both games and get paid for their efforts. The program will require content creators to pitch new ideas to Bethesda. Once accepted, Bethesda and the creator will work together to develop the idea into a full fledged DLC that can be bought with Creation Club credits. The resulting content will be checked through Bethesda’s quality assurance team, meaning it will be 100% compatible with all save files, achievements, DLCs, and other Creation Club content. For gamers, the credits are purchased through their platform’s store and are transferable between all three platforms.

Bethesda’s latest efforts to continue monetizing Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is incredibly intriguing. The PR nightmare that followed the Skyrim paid mods program of 2015 was swift and merciless for both Valve and Bethesda. The company is clearly making an effort to prove it is not making the same mistake twice. Technically, this is the same as contracting out the development of an expansion pack to a game to a smaller studio at a much smaller scale, but the bigger question is if the fans will see it the same way.
