The Elder Scrolls Online: Battle for the Writhing Wall One-Time Event Now Live

The Elder Scrolls Online: Battle for the Writhing Wall is now available for players across PC, Mac, Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Today, players can collectively be part of history as they team up to combat the Worm Cult in a word-changing, one-time event that will unlock a new explorable region and rewards. Watch the trailer below.

This year’s Seasons of the Worm Cult saga—a continuation of ESO’s original story—brought players to Solstice, where the Writhing Wall has prevented access to the eastern half of the island and the Worm Cult’s stronghold. The Battle for the Writhing Wall will require players to work together to gather supplies, assault the wall, and break through to defeat the Worm Cult.

In a first-ever for ESO, each of the game’s megaservers will progress through the event at their own pace, so the race is on to see which players will be the first to unlock the new region. You can follow each server’s progress on the ESO website.

The Battle for the Writhing Wall event has three unique phases, each unlocking additional challenges and rewards. Phase 1 and Phase 2 will prepare players to breach the wall by obtaining key items and defeating a range of enemies and World Bosses. All ESO players can help progress these phases, but only 2025 Content Pass owners can acquire quests on Solstice.

Phase 3 will see players invade the Writhing Fortress and unlock the new region. Unlike the other phases, which last a variable length of time depending on player successes and mobilisation, the third phase lasts one week from when the Writhing Fortress is first completed on a given server, bringing the event to a close after that period. This is the only chance for players to bring down the Writhing Wall for good (and to earn a unique Title)! Only 2025 Content Pass owners can complete this phase and access Eastern Solstice.

For more information on the Battle for the Writhing Wall one-time event, including its phases, quests, and rewards, read this announcement blog.

Skeleton Crew and Devolver Digital Announce Forestrike Release Date

Win the fight before it begins on November 17

Japan-based master developers Skeleton Crew and their apprentices Devolver Digital have meditated on the release date of Forestrike and decreed that the action-packed martial arts roguelite will launch on November 17 for PC and Nintendo Switch.

To mark the announcement, a new gameplay trailer offers a deeper look at Forestrike’s expansive world, its unique roguelite systems, and the mysterious story that awaits players. In addition, Forestrike’s updated Steam Next Fest demo now includes a third school of combat and new locations for players to sample ahead of the game’s launch.

Forestrike casts players as Yu, a monastic warrior on a quest to free the Emperor from the grasp of a ruthless Admiral. The odds are overwhelming—but Yu possesses a mystical technique known as Foresight.

With Foresight, players can preview and replay encounters endlessly, testing every possibility until they discover the perfect path to victory. Every opponent responds predictably to your actions, making each battle a strategic puzzle that rewards precision and mastery. Once you commit to the final version of the fight, success carries you forward, but failure ends your journey… for now.

Each run through Forestrike uncovers fragments of a wider story and introduces the five great masters, each offering a distinct martial arts school. By mastering different styles and combining techniques, players shape their own fighting philosophy. Between battles, you’ll recover at inns, acquire new gear, and rescue travelers to earn rare rewards—all while uncovering the true history of a land torn by war and ambition.

Forestrike launches November 17 on PC and Nintendo Switch. Watch the new gameplay trailer and wishlist the game now on Steam.

Lock, Slash, and Load: Rebel Engine Showcases Frenetic Combo Shooter at Steam Next Fest and Confirms Official Launch November 6, 2025

Los Angeles, CA – October 13th, 2025 – Argentinian indie developer Seven Leaf Clover, in partnership with Snail Games, is proud to reveal that its hyperkinetic first-person action adventure Rebel Engine will launch on Steam November 6th. You can get a taste of its automaton anarchy in the playable demo during Steam Next Fest running through October 20th at 10am PDT.

Rebel Engine fuses the stylish combat of a hack-n’-slash with the lightning speed and bombastic gunplay of a ’90s FPS into a wholly unique, fast-paced action extravaganza. Take control of Asimov, an old robot armed with a giant loading claw, a deadly arsenal of weapons and endless rage as he leads a rebellion against the Concrete megacorporation to liberate all robot-kind!

Beyond the story campaign, Rebel Engine hosts an Arena Mode where you fight against increasingly challenging hordes of enemies. Boost your score with intricate combos and combat prowess to ascend the ranks of the global leaderboard, and compete against your friends for the best highscore!

This Next Fest demo also debuts the collaboration between Seven Leaf Clover and hololive English Promise VTuber Hakos Baelz, who is a featured artist in an original in-game soundtrack for Rebel Engine. Her high-energy track sets the pace for the action during the game’s explosive boss fight.

“We’re big fans of action games and 90s boomer shooters, so we wanted to combine these into one ultra aggressive package of machine mayhem,” said Julián Uriel Bega, Game Producer at Seven Leaf Clover. “Rebel Engine lets you get creative combos, as you’re encouraged to never stop shooting and regularly switch up your melee and ranged weapons. You can try out its bionic bedlam in the Next Fest demo available through October 20th!”

Rebel Engine’s combat system features:

  • A dynamic weapon arsenal – each gun launches enemies in different directions, combine them to perform stylish combos!
  • Non-stop gun action – recover ammo by switching weapons and never stop shooting.
  • Multiple melee movesets – switch between your claw, kicks, sword, chainsaw and whip to mess up the opposition from up close.
  • Your enemy is your weapon – grab any enemy with your loading claw to use their own guns, and then throw them against each other with great force.
  • Combo-fueled finishers – long and flashy combos allow you to use powerful finishers, like giant lasers and burning plasma explosions!
