Lesquin, April 15, 2026 – Among this year’s new features, Tour de France 2026, developed by Cyanide Studio, integrates dynamic weather conditions! Thanks to Unreal Engine 5, the stages of the Grande Boucle gain realism with this new feature which impacts gameplay during races. Tour de France 2026 will be available on PC, PlayStation 5TM and Xbox Series X|S, on June 4, 2026.
Watch the new trailer showcasing the weather conditions of Tour de France 2026:
In Tour de France 2026, rain is a new important component and changes the way you play. The terrain becomes slippery and every turn or descent can cause a fall. To avoid a potential skid, you must adapt each trajectory and adjust braking distances. But be careful: break too heavily and the bike risks skidding, causing the rider to fall, which makes them lose crucial time that could cost them the victory! Rain requires players to pay more attention and have more controller control during rainy races.
Agility plays a key role in avoiding falls. Each rider has an agility rating that makes a real difference during races in the rain. A rider with an A+ agility rating can take more permissive trajectories and has a longer window to recover their bike.
Before each race or stage, it is possible to consult the weather forecasts in the menus. But this indication does not exclude the element of surprise; the weather can change at any time. A stage can start under a clear sky but end in pouring rain, forcing players to adapt.
For stage races like the Tour de France, weather forecasts for the current stage and the next 3 days can be consulted to better anticipate the upcoming weather. The weather also depends on the time of the year.
Temperatures are also part of this new feature. Consultable in the menus and defined before the start of a stage, they influence the outfit worn by the riders. Under a blazing sun, short jerseys and shorts cycling bibs will be worn. While in cold weather, arm warmers and long cycling bibs will be essential.
Weather conditions are customizable in MyTour modes and private Criterium multiplayer games.
Official game of the eponymous competition, Tour de France 2026 faithfully reproduces the 21 new stages of the Grande Boucle, including emblematic locations such as the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, the starting city of this new edition, and the Basilica of Sacré-Coeur de Montmartre in Paris to win the legendary yellow jersey. Players can embody iconic riders like Tadej Pogačar or Jonas Vingegaard, with their official jerseys and teams. This 2026 edition brings several new features with the addition of dynamic weather conditions and improvements for the game modes.
