MAXIMUM GAMES ANNOUNCES DEAD ALLIANCE MULTIPLAYER OPEN BETA, JULY 27-31 ON PLAYSTATION®4, XBOX ONE AND WINDOWS PC

Developers Psyop Games and IllFonic Break Down How to Seize the Dead in New E3 Trailer

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.June 19, 2017 – Leading video game publisher Maximum Games has revealed it will host a free multiplayer open beta for the upcoming team-based shooter Dead Alliance on the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One and Windows PC from July 27-31. Players will face off against opponents and turn zombies into man-eating allies across three multiplayer maps and an assortment of game modes.

Maximum Games has also released a new trailer for Dead Alliance out of E3 featuring developers from Psyop Games and IllFonic. This in-depth video dives into the FPS’s post-apocalyptic setting, in which teams of players from warring military factions battle for survival and control of humanity’s last resources after a zombie plague ravages the world. Dead Alliance encourages players to rethink the way they play competitive shooters; zombies are more than just the enemy – they are weapons that can be used tactically against your opponents with the help of zombie-controlling zMods. In the hands of savvy players, zombies can be manipulated to swarm or flank foes, block paths, flush out campers, create walls of dead flesh to obscure enemy vision, and more.

The game features a variety of single-player and 4v4 multiplayer modes, including Team Deathmatch, Free for All, King of the Hill, Capture and Hold, and Solo Survival mode. There’s also Attrition mode, a fun spin on the traditional MOBA where players fight through lanes of enemies in a zombie jungle to capture the opposing team’s base.

Dead Alliance is expected to officially launch on the PlayStation®4 system, Xbox One and Windows PC on Aug. 29. The Day One Edition of the game, available to preorder now at major retailers, contains three bonus early-access loadouts featuring unique multiplayer weapons and perks. Digital preorders for all platforms will be available soon.

For the latest updates as open beta nears, visit www.DeadAlliance.com, and follow the game on Facebook and @DeadAllianceMG on Twitter.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III: Annihilation Update arrives with new modes, free content on June 21st

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III: Annihilation Update arrives with new modes, free content on June 21st

Dawn of War III players will soon be challenged to wipe their foes clean off the map as the game’s Annihilation Mode arrives in Australia on June 21st. The new mode will offer a classic take on RTS multiplayer, bolstered with the arrival of buildable turrets, a new map, and free skin pack.

New Modes – Annihilation

Annihilation is great for those looking for a classic multiplayer feel, but is also a perfect playground for squaring off against the AI. The game isn’t over until one team has lost all of their core structures, giving you lots of chances to rebuild for the comeback.

Annihilation with Defences will give you a head start in base protection. Faction-specific turrets will defend your base from predetermined locations, buying you time to build up your army. In Annihilation Classic, you don’t start with turrets but you can still build them if you’ve taken one of the new doctrines.

New Doctrines – Buildable Turrets

Speaking of turrets, three new doctrines – one per faction – will be added and unlocked for all players. Pick this as one of your three doctrines before a match, and you can build defensive turrets wherever you need coverage. Better yet, these doctrines will be available across all multiplayer modes and maps, not just Annihilation.

New Skins – Engines of Annihilation

House Raven – Imperial Knight Paladin: Close allies of the Techpriests of Mars, the Imperial Knights of House Raven stand against the enemies of Man, bringing devastation to challengers. Exalted – Ranged Wraithknight: Shining in specially designed wraithbone, the Exalted Wraithknight is a glorious agent of the Craftworld. Deathskulls – Gorkanaut: Deathskulls are the premier looters and scavengers among the Orks. This Gorkanaut is the ultimate junkyard manifestation of their love for destruction.

New Map – Mortis Vale

All existing multiplayer maps have been retrofitted to play host to Annihilation showdowns, but we’re also releasing Mortis Vale – a fresh battleground designed to shine in this new mode. Its gothic atmosphere sets the tone for war, and its open design allows for strategic assaults. Mortis Vale will be available for both 2v2 and 3v3 matches across all modes.

The Salt Factory Machinima Re-imagines Overwatch as a Turn Based RPG

Video game comedy channel The Salt Factory released an awesome bit of machinima that re-imagines Blizzard’s hit FPS Overwatch as a Final Fantasy style turn based RPG. The video is well put together and deserves a watch!

The film kicks off with the “player” booting up the game to check out Overwatch’s latest event, conveniently runnig only on April Fool’s day. Seems like no small detail was missed, as the mode is complete with various save games, loading screens, and mini-maps, items important to different characters in the franchise. With a little wandering around on the map Route 66, a McCree, Reinhardt, Mercy, and Bastion encounter a strangely tough Roadhog. Players are treated to a lengthy combat sequence based on the Active Time Battle system first introduced in Final Fantasy IV, followed by the traditional XP and loot screen.

19th June, 2017 – Start off the winter with ARMS, Nintendo’s unique new fighting game that’s available now on Nintendo Switch. In the futuristic world of ARMS, certain people have the ability to extend their limbs, leading to fun and frantic battles as combatants aim to become the best fighters around and be crowned the champion of the ARMS League. Whether the Nintendo Switch is used in handheld mode, tabletop mode, or in TV mode, up to four players can challenge each other using a range of unique and colourful combatants in both local and online play*.

Since being revealed back in January, this fast-paced game starring fighters with extendable Arms has gained a strong following, with fans worldwide already debating their favourite characters and actively participating in the recent Global Testpunch demos to get a taste of what the game has to offer. ARMS has also received acclaim with critics, joining a strong line-up of Nintendo Switch titles heading into the winter, including Snipperclips – Cut it out, together! The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe:

Playable with the Joy-Con available for Nintendo Switch, including the new Neon Yellow Joy-Con set available separately in stores from today, as well as the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller**, ARMS is easy to pick up and play with intuitive and engaging controls, while full of depth for more dedicated fighters to delve into. Before each battle, players can choose between one of ten fighters, all of whom have big personalities, bigger arms, and a range of unique special abilities to help fulfil their goal of becoming the Grand Prix champion.

By using the motion controls of the Joy-Con, players can throw a punch with a flick forward, move around the stage by tilting the controllers in the desired direction, or even execute powerful throws by moving both hands forward at the same time. For more tactical play, fighters can select two different Arms, each of which come with their own specialities and strategies to master.

In addition to one-on-one fighting matches that can be played either locally or online***, ARMS has multiple modes that allow up to four friends to play against each other anytime, anywhere. In Team Fight mode, two players are tethered together, and must team up to battle another team of two fighters. Meanwhile, V-Ball requires players to knock an explosive ball into the opponent’s court in a mode reminiscent of volleyball, and Hoops challenges opponents with shooting each other into a basketball net, or even dunk them for extra satisfaction. Several more modes are also available, and many of them can be played online.

ARMS will also receive continuous support after launch, allowing players to receive more fighters, stages, and unique Arms at no additional cost.
