Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Available Now as Standalone Title on PlayStation®4

June 28, 2017 – Say hello to your Summer “Playcation,” as there’s never been a better time to jump into Call of Duty. Starting today, Activision’s “Days of Summer” seasonal community celebration begins on all platforms for Call of Duty®: Infinite Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare® Remastered, and on July 12th for Call of Duty: Black Ops III. The massive five-week Call of Duty community event features a bevy of in-game giveaways, where players will gain free access to themed maps, special playlists, game modes, new gear and weapon camos, and much more.

Just in time for the new Days of Summer content, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, a complete enhancement of one of the most critically-acclaimed games in history, is available now as standalone release in stores on PlayStation®4 interactive entertainment system and via download on the PlayStation™Network, with other platforms to follow. The game includes the full campaign and all the multiplayer maps fans know and love from the original Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, all released with stunning high-definition visuals. Assassin’s Creed returns to the 15th century with Assassin’s Creed Rebellion, a free-to-play strategy RPG just announced for iOS and Android devices, and developed in close collaboration with Behaviour Interactive studio. Giving players the chance to build their own Assassin Brotherhood, manage a fortress, and engage in covert missions against the Templars, Assassin’s Creed Rebellion brings together a roster of more than 40 Assassins. Your fortress also serves as a base of operations before taking teams of three Assassins into various infiltration missions. The types of missions you pursue also have an effect on how your Assassins develop: standard missions are key for gathering resources to upgrade your Assassins, while Loot missions will earn materials for crafting. As the final addition to the Steep season pass, the Extreme Pack offers players three new extreme sports: Rocket Wings, Speed Riding and Base Jumping. Steep features seamless multiplayer, populating the world with players as they explore the Alps and Alaska. Players and friends across the globe can take on challenges together, or compete with each other to snag the top spot on the leaderboards. The game’s replay feature expands this experience, allowing players to relive their wildest tricks and memorable lines and even share them as videos on social media. It doesn’t stop there, as challenges can be created from any line to compete with friends and achieve the best time or score based on customizable factors, such as completing tricks to score. Players can also participate in several competitive live programs such as the monthly Steep World Tour, where players take on specific challenges to qualify in tournament and have a chance to win exclusive rewards.

CI Games today announced its future strategy for the company including some hints at upcoming plans moving forward.

The company confirmed plans to create a new tactical shooter that will be announced at a latter time. Additionally, CI Games also reiterated its commitment to a sequel for the acclaimed Lords of the Fallen, and will also continue supporting Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 with future updates through 2017.

“We’ve learned a lot as a team over the course of development for Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, much of which I believe has shaped the talented individuals within CI Games and the entire studio for the better,” said Chief Executive Officer Marek Tymiński. “When we began development of SGW3, we decided on such a relatively large scale of the game with its open world that now we realize it was just too ambitious versus what we could have been able to deliver in any reasonable amount of time. We simply made the wrong math considering the size of our team and the originally given timeframe. By positioning the game in a AAA category, it took us away from what we could have done great. Instead we spent too much effort trying to catch up with other AAA titles in terms of their production values and features. That was a big mistake.”

Continued Tymiński, “All of that was a huge lesson for us and we’re now moving forward without any tag attached to our next project. We’re planning to make a great tactical shooter where we can focus on exciting gameplay, some key mechanics, and missions that have depth without all of the trappings of a large open-world setting. We want to make this game even more tactical than SGW3, and I believe the last three years have created a wonderful foundation that we can build upon for our next game.”

Saint Petersburg, Russia – June 27, 2017 – Developer Battlestate Games today announced that Escape from Tarkov, its realism-focused hardcore FPS/MMO hybrid, will be entering its official Closed Beta phase (CBT) in July. The Closed Beta, which will be available to all current and new pre-order owners, introduces new features, content and optimizations – a new map, weapon parts, new loot, economy rebalancing, and an insurance system. Also new to the game will be the Peacemaker, a new merchant who will expand opportunities for players to buy western weapons and gear.

New Gameplay Features in the Closed Beta:

  • Insurance – For a small amount of in game currency, players can insure weapons and equipment, increasing the chance of retaining it
  • Loot and Economy – The CBT will feature a new Merchant, new barter loot, medicines and additional useful items for players to buy, sell and trade. Economic balancing means items will be made available in marketplaces for barter and in loot drops based on their popularity and rarity within the economics system
  • Weapons – New weapon customization parts and ammunition types, along with the addition of the modern-classic MP5 submachine gun will offer players even more customizations in the game that prides itself on making thousands of weapon combos and upgrades possible
  • Locations – There will be a total of four locations available to play- Customs, Woods, Factory and Shoreline – all with different sizes and terrains. The Shoreline location will be newest and biggest map addition to the CBT.
  • General Chat – Chat channels will be available to all players online in the game, allowing players to share useful information and group up for raids.

While Escape from Tarkov has been preparing for the launch of the Closed Beta, the Battlestate team has dedicated a great deal of time to the optimization of animation systems, equipment, and internal system modules – all of which have seen adjustments and improvements. Also in preparation for the CBT launch, the game’s been updated to make use of the current version of Unity Engine, allowing Escape from Tarkov to take full use of DX11 and other optimizations offered by the engine.

Escape from Tarkov is a hardcore story-driven military MMO featuring elements of FPS and RPG. The game’s storyline takes place in the Russian city of Tarkov, which has been sealed off by roadblocks and plunged into chaos as warfare rages between private military companies throughout the urban battlefield. Escape from Tarkov‘s Hazardous Environment Combat Simulator employs a number of custom system modules to create incredibly immersive gameplay and make players feel the reality of their surroundings. Combatants will be able to customize their weapons, creating nearly-limitless, though realistic, combinations of weapon features, while learning skills that can improve, or, in a new twist, degrade over time, depending on how much use they get from players.

Tickets Are Now Available for Australian Cinema Screenings of ‘Evangelion’ Movies

Roughly two weeks ago, Madman Entertainment announced that they will be bringing Evangelion movies 1.11, 2.22 and 3.33 to cinemas across Australia for a limited time from July 20, 2017. The director’s cut version of each of the movies will be presented with the original Japanese audio and English subtitles. Tickets for some of these screenings are now available.

Tickets for screenings at Event Cinemas locations are available here. Individual screenings of 1.11, 2.22 and 3.33 will be held on July 20, while marathon screenings of all three movies will be held on July 23. Additional dates have not yet been confirmed. Tickets for screenings at Village Cinemas on the same dates can be purchased here.

Tickets for screenings at Hoyts Cinemas will soon be available here. Individual screenings of 1.11, 2.22 and 3.33 will be held on July 20, 21 and 22, respectively, with marathon screenings following on July 23.

Tickets do not yet appear to be available for screenings at Dendy Cinemas. Dendy Canberra and Village Glenorchy will be holding one marathon screening on July 30.
