Goblin-Themed Sports Game Graveball Scores a 31 July Release on PC

Goblin-Themed Sports Game Graveball Scores a 31 July Release on PC

MASON CITY, IOWA – 22 May 2018 – Graveball, the spooky and savage skill-based sport where goblins kill one another (and themselves!) from developer Goin’ Yumbo and publisher 3D Realms, will begin serving up three-on-three online matches on 31 July 2018.

At a local cemetery, sporting goblins have constructed a spooky “Graveball” court that hosts a madcap meld of football and basketball. On this playing field, depraved shovel-wielding creatures compete to maintain possession of the “skullball” and run it into the opposing end zone to score. Of course, there are other ways to get points in this bizarre blood sport, like shooting the skull into a hoop that appears every 30 seconds – or just killing the other team in quick succession.

The goblins’ shovels make useful tools for smacking the skull down the field or knocking it out of an end zone to prevent the other team from scoring before the three-second scoring timer ends. They’re also equally well-suited to cutting down the competition in more direct and brutal ways. Especially when one considers the rules allow shovels to be thrown and goblins aren’t much of a match for their blades, it’s easy to see why Graveball is played where it’s easy to bury bodies.

But don’t bury those goblins quite yet! Death is not the end in Graveball. After dying, goblins become ghosts that move twice as fast as their living counterparts. Death isn’t enough to stop the competition, and sometimes that ghostly mobility can even lead directly to victory. If that speed boost sounds mighty tempting, a handy little suicide button allows goblins to slit their own throats. But just remember that they can’t touch the skull while in phantom form.

All goblins have the same abilities, so the game remains completely dependent on skill –meaning no auto aim when tossing either the ball or shovels. This ensures an even playing field so the thrills and chills come from emergent moments, rather than any special paid-for powers. But that doesn’t mean these little jerks don’t like to play dress-up. Masks, weapons, hairstyles, and taunt animations do not affect gameplay: sometimes a Goblin just wants to feel pretty.

Know what’s almost as fun as playing Graveball? Watching Graveball. Ragdoll camera? Check. Hang-time and Goblin-body-distance trackers for when someone lands a nasty kill? Double-check. Watch clutch moments like catching opponents’ weapons and blocking their shots or even throwing the shovel to get that last bit of distance needed to reach the goal ring. Matches usually end about five minutes in so it’s always easy to watch or play a few quick games.

“It was important to me to make sure every Goblin had the same abilities, and you can’t just ‘level up’ to be better,” said Riley Dirksen, founder, Goin’ Yumbo. “Every moment of excitement feels earned, so I have a feeling players are going to love that aspect of the experience.”

Graveball will be available digitally in English on the PC via Steam for $4.99 USD with a 10% launch discount.

1C Company Launches Heralded Medieval Strategy Game, Ancestors Legacy, on PC

Inspired by European History, Squad-based Strategic Action Game Puts Players into the Thick of Combat Between Four Nations in Both Single Player Tactical Campaigns and Multiplayer Battles

PRAGUE, May 22, 2018 – 1C Company, a global PC and console games publisher, today announced it has launched the award-winning RTS strategy game, Ancestors Legacy, for PC via Steam. In the squad-based real time strategy game inspired by medieval European history, players can join Vikings, Saxons and other nations in an extensive series of tactical campaigns or challenge their friends in multiplayer battles. The game is available for PC in both standard and Collector’s Edition versions starting today with a 10% launch discount. Ancestors Legacy will also ship on Xbox One and Xbox One X in early 2019.

“Ancestors Legacy is all about having the action-oriented game set within the medieval environment, as close to reality as possible,” said Tomasz Gop, Producer at Destructive Creations. “All four nations are based on history, but also we managed to make them actually feel unique. The final product gives to players a competitive multiplayer side of the game, joined with what I call Role-Playing Strategy (RPS), story-driven single-player campaigns that can be played at a more relaxed pace.”

In Ancestors Legacy, players take command of their armies as they storm through medieval Europe in an extensive series of tactical campaigns inspired by actual historical events. Choosing one of the four available nations—Viking, Anglo-Saxon, German or Slav—players can conquer, raid and pillage enemy camps and towns. But to truly dominate players must be strategic, taking advantage of the full range of tactical options, using the environment to their benefit and properly managing their temporary bases and settlements.

The game combines resource management and base building with large-scale, squad-based battles across vast battlefields, all rendered in rich detail thanks to Unreal Engine 4 technology. Players will experience medieval bloodshed like never before via the cinematic action camera that puts them right in the middle of the battle at the press of a button.

Game Features
·     Extensive single player campaign inspired by historical events featuring four playable nations
·     Intense multiplayer battles with multiple modes including Domination (control the most villages to win) and Annihilation (destroy the enemy base camp to win)
·     Advanced tactical options combining the use of terrain, experience and morale
·     Cinematic battle camera view puts players right in the center of the action

About Gal Metal:
Planet Earth is on the brink of invasion after humanity ruined the peace and quiet of the universe with the broadcast of metal music on the Voyager probe’s Golden Record. Aliens picked up the signal and couldn’t stop headbanging, and now they’re dying off because of it… so they want revenge!

A few rogue extraterrestrials make their way to the source of the music and abduct two high school students from the Tokyo suburb of Kichijoji: an unnamed boy, and a drummer named Rinko from an outrageous girls-only metal club. The aliens needed an emissary with whom to discuss the terms of their revenge, and felt either of these two would serve nicely. However, being unable to choose between them, the aliens simply decided to merge their souls into a single being!

Now, working together, the all-in-one pair must team up with the other members of K.M.G. (the Kichijoji Metal Girls) to rid the planet of these eight-tentacled extraterrestrials using the power of metal. It’s time to rock these music-hating creeps all the way back to whatever planet they came from!

Gal Metal is a rhythm game designed for Nintendo Switch™ that turns each Joy-Con™ into a drum stick. Players will take hold of the Joy-Cons to rock along with the music as they create their own complex performances and rack up millions of points using personal free-form drum lines based on over a dozen different beats. With Pro Controller support on offer as well, players will be able to choose how they want to jam and earn metal power to use against the alien invaders in this uniquely adlib-friendly rhythm experience.

Key Features:
Jam Any Way You’d Like: A new spin on traditional music gameplay, Gal Metal lets the player create their own drumlines based on over a dozen beats. Practice the beats after school and rack up unique combos to blow the invading aliens away in live performances!

Unique Storytelling: Divided into episodes ending in climactic concerts, the lighthearted story unfolds in text messages and animated manga panels that are read right-to-left for an authentically Japanese experience.

Be an After-School Specialist: Between performances to take out the pesky aliens, there’s ordinary school life as well. Improve skills and friendships by doing part-time jobs, hanging out with friends, and jamming in the club room.

Show Your True Mettle/Metal: Simple-to-learn gameplay allows players who master the beats to create complex performances. How much metal power can you score?

With the city streets overrun by these newly formed creatures, Mika requests the assistance of Beyond the Grave (Grave, for short), waking him from 14 years of rest after his previous battle. She hopes for him to use his power to help rid the city streets of the Orgman threat and stop the flow of SEED once and for all.

In Gungrave VR, players take control of Grave with his iconic set of dual guns, Cerberus, and will have to master different playstyles to take down the various foes that stand in his way. Levels consist either of free-moving third-person gameplay or first-person action that includes both stationary and mobile sections, offering players a variety of modes to help put them in the shoes of the resurrected Millennion agent himself. With an array of shooting attacks, close-range strikes using Grave’s coffin, Bullet Time, and more, Gungrave VR brings an authentic Gungrave experience to virtual reality for the very first time.
