A couple of days ago the first trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog live-action movie was released and results from fans were a bit mixed. In fact the fan outcry about the way Sonic looks in the movie compared to how Sega has portrayed him has been so outspoken that it looks like the animation team is going to have to put in some overtime as the movie’s director Jeff Fowler has taken to Twitter to state that they know fans are not happy with Sonic’s look and that they will be fixing his appearance before the film is released in November.
Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren't happy with the design & you want changes. It's going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie#gottafixfast 🔧✌️
Currently the Sonic the Hedgehog movie is set to be released in theaters in North America on November 8th with an Australian release planned for January 9, 2020.
Popular smartphone game Azur Lane is going to be getting a little bit more love in the West as Idea Factory International has announced that they will be bringing the upcoming Compile Heart and Felistella developed side-scrolling shooter Azur Lane: Crosswave to the West for the PlayStation 4. Currently the company is aiming to have the game released sometime in 2020 with Japanese voice overs accompanied by English subtitles.
Azur Lane: Crosswave takes the spirit of the original game and brings many of its cast to life in a 3D world with character designs featuring cel-shaded anime stylings. Players will be battling enemy ships and will need to meet special criteria to unlock and customize new characters. Swap weapons and even cute accessories to fit your needs as the top commander of the seas. Players will be able to prepare their units before entering into battle and once they enter into battle they will need to keep an eye out for everything from aerial bombings, underwater torpedoes, and incoming fire.
To go along with this announcement the company has released a few screenshots for some of the ships in the game, Ayanami, Javelin, Laffey, Ping Hai, and Prinz Eugen.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night now has a solid release date as publisher 505 Games has announced that they will be releasing the long awaited Koji Igarashi side-scrolling game on June 18th for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and then a week later on June 25th for the Nintendo Switch. To accompany this announcement the developer released a tongue-in-cheek trailer that shows off the various graphical improvements that have been made to the game over the past few months.
Players will take control of Miriam, an orphan scarred by an alchemist’s curse which slowly crystallizes her body. To save humanity, and herself in the process, Miriam must fight through a demon-infested castle, revealing crystal shards infused with tremendous magical power, and defeating the summoner, Gebel.
After the first game was released on the PlayStation 4 back in March XSEED Games has announced that the sequel, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II, will be arriving on the console on June 4th in North America and June 7th in Europe. Originally released for the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita this new version of the game contains a few updated features such as a turbo mode option as well as some newly recorded English dialog scenes.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IIpicks up one month after the decisive collision which changed the fate of the entire nation at the conclusion of Trails of Cold Steel. You can check out a new trailer and some screenshots for this version of the game below.
A new trailer for Kotodama: The 7 Mysteries of Fujisawa has been released by PQube and this time the focus is on introducing the various characters that will appear in the game as players explore Fujisawa Academy, a seemingly normal educational institution, that has many secrets for the player to uncover. These characters may quickly become your friends but be wary, everyone has something to hide.
You can find the character trailer below and keep an eye out for Kotodama: The 7 Mysteries of Fujisawa when it is released on the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on May 31st in Europe and June 4th in North America.

VA-11 HALL-A Mixes Fresh Drinks on Nintendo
Switch and PlayStation 4 Today
CARACAS, VENEZUELA – May
2, 2019 –VA-11 HALL-A:
Cyberpunk Bartender Action, the booze em’up about waifus, technology, and post-dystopia life
which has sold more than 300,000 copies on Steam fromYsbryd Games and developerSukeban Games, serves players on Nintendo Switch and
PlayStation 4 today.
It’s 207X in Glitch City, a city boasting unparalleled technological advancements. However, residents suffer the effects of unethical nanomachine experiments and a corrupt government. To escape this sad reality, residents seek solace through android lovers, supersonic drone racing, or the bottom of a boozy glass.
Enter Jill, resident
bartender at VA-11 HALL-A, Glitch City’s preeminent dive bar. She’ll pour
drinks for a humanoid robot popstar, the editor-in-chief of a beloved magazine
and his interns, law enforcement officials, and even a boy-crazy hacker.
Meanwhile, they’ll pour out their souls.
VA-11 HALL-A mixes alcohol with a dash of simple syrup and a
hefty pour of point-and-click adventures: characters react to drinks served,
with customers’ level of inebriation affecting the flow of the story. Serving
drinks that suit patrons’ tastes gets Jill tips to pay her bills, but
dissatisfied patrons may leave her to drown in her own sorrows.
Set the tone for the
adventure by curating infectious electronic synthpop playlists for the jukebox.
A dark, pixelated anime art style frames the laidback experience, adding to VA-11
HALL-A’s immersive atmosphere.
“We wanted the bar
itself to be as memorable as the colorful cast of cyberpunk characters, a place
where hope exists amid a daily struggle,” said Christopher “Kiririn51” Ortiz,
co-founder, Sukeban Games. “VA-11 HALL-A serves a narrative-driven
experience about steering intimate conversations with strangers, so it was
important to give it the right vibe.”
VA-11 HALL-A is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4,
and Steam for the regular price of $14.99 USD. It supports English and
Japanese, with other localizations to be added to these versions later.
Physical editions for
Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, as well as a special Collector’s Edition
boxset for Nintendo Switch, will be available from Limited Run later this year.
