’39 DAYS TO MARS’ NINTENDO SWITCH EDITION OUT TODAY
Joins Xbox One and Steam Releases

May 16th, 2019 — Developer It’s Anecdotal is excited to announce its puzzle-adventure game 39 Days to Mars is now available on Nintendo Switch™ for $14.99 — join Sir Albert Wickes and The Right Honourable Clarence Baxter for an exciting 19th century adventure!

39 Days to Mars is a 1-2 player co-operative adventure game set in an alternate reality some 150 years in the past. You’re tasked with piloting the HMS Fearful — a masterpiece of unreliable engineering — on its maiden voyage to Mars. When the steam engine runs out of coal, the ship’s cat shreds the navigation chart, and the tea gets cold, it becomes clear that interstellar transportation isn’t a walk in the park. It will take the talents of two working together on a mix of puzzles and action sequences to get to Mars in one piece (let alone in 39 days).

39 Days to Mars is also out on Xbox One, Windows PC, Mac, and Linux platforms. The Additional Victorian Adventures content update released on PC in 2018 is included as part of the console edition as well.

Pacifists, Rejoice! Multiplayer Survival RPG CryoFall Adds Dedicated PvE Servers

Pacifists, Rejoice! Multiplayer Survival RPG CryoFall Adds Dedicated PvE Servers

New update lets PvE players focus on creative community-building and exploration while balancing the competition for PvP survivalists

HAMBURG, Germany May 16, 2019 – Publisher Daedalic Entertainment and developer AtomicTorch Studio have released a new free content update for the sci-fi multiplayer survival RPG CryoFall introducing dedicated PvE servers, one of the community’s most requested features. Players interested in peaceful exploration, survival and community-building on CryoFall’s alien world can now enjoy the game in cooperation with each other more fully without the pressure of bloodshed.

In addition, several improvements have been made based on community feedback to balance PvP servers, where going rogue is always an option and survival of the fittest is ultimately all that matters. To decrease the likelihood players log back on to find their bases and possessions devastated, a new 7-10 PM local time raiding window* has been introduced to ensure that most raids happen when players are likely to be online to fight back directly. But this doesn’t mean PvP players can rest easy. Bombs now do more damage, and the chests that protect your belongings can now be more easily opened by invaders.

CryoFall delivers a complex survival experience with unlimited opportunities for players to make their mark on a hostile alien world full of secrets, dangers and wealth. Discover new ways of farming, hunting, cooking, crafting, mining, building and trading, with multiple specializations available per character. Work with your fellow players to build a functional new society, or succumb to the most basic of urges and take what others have worked so hard to build. Whether you choose PvE or PvP, CryoFall offers a richly varied gameplay experience, featuring:

  • Complex crafting and industrial system, including oil refining and lithium extraction.
  • Various stages of technological progress (primitive, industrial, modern, post-modern, sci-fi).
  • Farming with complex crop growth simulation, fertilizers, etc., and diverse cooking options.
  • Wide range of player interactions and roles with specialization options emphasizing meaningful interactions, rather than just combat.
  • Fully functional economy simulation with coin minting, trading and automated vending machines managed by players.
  • Carefully handcrafted maps and locations (plus map editor).
  • Storyline elements discovered through exploration.
  • Diverse environments with several biomes (temperate, desert, tropical, boreal, wasteland, etc.).
  • In-house developed Renkei Engine™, allowing hundreds of players on the same server.
  • Complex character simulation with several dozens of status effects (e.g., bleeding, poisoning, radiation, etc.).
  • Extensive modding capabilities, including real-time code editing.

CryoFall is currently available for Windows PC via Steam Early Access and will be on sale for 10% off later today.

For more information, visit http://cryofall.com. For the most recent patch notes, visit the game on Steam.

*Community server owners are free to configure these raiding hours as they wish or even disable the feature altogether.

The presentation also introduced Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers, a new exclusive way for Nintendo Switch Online members to save on digital purchases

16th May, 2019 – During the Super Mario Maker 2 Direct video presentation, Nintendo shared new details about Super Mario Maker 2, launching exclusively for Nintendo Switch on 28th June. The deep dive into the game revealed some of what’s new in Super Mario Maker 2, including new course parts and tools; a new single-player story mode with more than 100 Nintendo-created courses; new course themes; details about online course sharing*; options to create and play together with others**; and information about a special offer for Nintendo Switch Online members. The presentation also announced the upcoming Super Mario Maker 2 Invitational 2019 tournament, streaming live online the weekend before E3 from Los Angeles.

To view the entire Nintendo Direct video chock-a-block with exciting new details, visit http://www.nintendo.com.au/nintendo-direct. Some of the highlights revealed in the video include:

  • What’s New?: There are a ton of new course parts, tools and features for creators to use in Super Mario Maker 2, some of which include:
    • Slopes – Create angled surfaces by just picking a direction and setting the length. Gentler slopes are an additional option as well.
    • Angry Sun – Remember the angry sun that attacked Mario in Super Mario Bros. 3? It’s back and ready to put the pressure on players in this new game.
    • ON/OFF Switch – Hit an ON/OFF Switch, and all the red and blue blocks in the course will swap. Setting them up wisely will help players create tricky puzzles and obstacles.
    • Water Level – The water level in Super Mario Maker 2 can be adjusted in the Forest theme, so only half the course can be underwater if that’s what the player wants. Water can even be set to rise and fall at different speeds over time.
    • Banzai Bill – The red variations of these classic Super Mario enemies have a homing function that chases poor Mario wherever he goes.
    • Co-op Making: Pass a Joy-Con controller to a friend to create a course together.
    • To Be Continued…: There are more new secrets in Super Mario Maker 2. Players will have a blast experimenting with all the tools and features they can use to create the courses of their dreams.
  • Story Mode: In the single-player Story Mode, which can be played entirely offline, Mario sets out to help rebuild Princess Peach’s castle. To fund this reconstruction project, he needs to collect Coins, which he can earn by accepting jobs from the bulletin board and completing the associated courses. Story Mode is a great way for makers to get inspired, with more than 100 original Nintendo-crafted courses to play.
  • New Course Themes: In addition to all the course themes from the original game, players will be able to create and play courses using the Desert, Snow, Forest and Sky themes. These themes feature new music by veteran Super Mario series composer Koji Kondo. The new Moon course part can be used to unlock night versions of course themes. And depending on the theme used, wild things will happen at night, including floating Goombas, dimmed lighting in the Ghost House and sandstorms in the Desert. Some items might even transform during nighttime…
  • Super Mario 3D World: Players can choose to create their courses in the style of Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, New Super Mario Bros. U and a new style based on Super Mario 3D World. Some new features unique to this style include:
    • Cat Mario – Cat Mario can climb walls, scratch, slide and pounce on enemies. Players can even use Cat Mario to climb up the Goal Pole.
    • Clear Pipe – Clear Pipes can be placed in any shape the player wants, but they have to be careful, as enemies can also slide through these transparent pipes.
    • Koopa Troopa Car – Hop in this sweet ride and zoom through the course. Players just need to make sure not to crash!
    • Track Block – The Track Block will follow any path the player draws. The blue one starts moving when the player steps on it.
    • Piranha Creeper – The Piranha Creeper follows the path that the player draws, extending its dangerous spiky stem around the course.
    • Who’s Who in Super Mario 3D World?: A cast of other familiar faces will also make appearances in Super Mario Maker 2, so players are in for a treat.
  • Course World: An online hub where players can play and share courses, as well as play together, Course World is available for players around the world who have a membership to Nintendo Switch Online. Players can browse by Popular Courses, New Courses or even search for specific tags like “puzzle-solving” or “autoscroll” using a pre-defined set of filters. Once a course is downloaded, it can be played anytime – even offline. Players can also personalise their Mii character’s appearance using items like shirts and hats that unlock after completing various objectives. In Endless Challenge, players will try to complete as many Course World courses as possible on the difficulty of their choice before getting a game over. Earning impressive scores in this mode might even get the player on the Leaderboards.
  • Play Together: In Course World, players can play courses with people from all over the world. When playing with four players, players can choose Mario, Luigi, Toad or Toadette.
    • Multiplayer Versus – Four players face off in a side-scrolling showdown in this online multiplayer mode. Each player will be assigned a different character, then race each other in a randomly selected course. The player who clears the course first wins and increases their Versus Rating.
    • Multiplayer Co-op – In this online mode, up to four players must work together to beat the course. If one player finishes it, everyone wins.
    • Nearby Play – If up to four players each own a Nintendo Switch console and a copy of Super Mario Maker 2, one of them can set up a virtual room that the others in the same location can join to play together, each on their own console. Only the player setting up the room needs an internet connection.
  • Super Mario Maker 2 + Nintendo Switch Online Bundle: Launching in stores and digitally in Nintendo eShop on 28th June in addition to the stand-alone game, there will also be a Limited Edition bundle which includes a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership with a suggested retail price of AU$94.95 / NZ$106.45. Each voucher can be redeemed for a download version of any game from the programme’s catalogue, so members can get two games together at a reduced price. This program is a great way to get two games, including the latest pre-orders, at a discounted price. Vouchers are redeemable for one year from the date of purchase and don’t have to be used at the same time. Nintendo Switch Online members can buy and redeem Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers via Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch.
  • Super Mario Maker 2 Invitational 2019 – On 9th June AEST, four members of the Super Mario Maker community will compete in a variety of wild and unpredictable Super Mario Maker 2 courses designed by Nintendo’s Treehouse team. The event will open up the festivities at The Theatre at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles, starting at 4:00am AEST / 6:00am NZST and will be followed by the Splatoon 2 World Championship 2019 and the Super Smash Bros. New Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint Trailer Introduces Jay Skell

Ubisoft released a new Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint trailer. The story trailer sets the stage for the game by introducing Jace Skell and his company Skell Technology. Based on the Auroa archipelago, the company specializes in drone and AI technology. Previously a peaceful technology, the drones are now lethal, autonomous weapons attacking politicians and wreaking terror.

The Ghosts are inserted into Auroa after the Jace Skell can no longer be contacted while the drones continue their offensive strikes. Players will fight for their lives against former Ghosts who have gone rogue and joined the Wolves. There’s no reinforcements coming, so players will need to scavenge equipment from their enemies, deal with battlefield injuries, and build camps to rest.

Keep Cities Safe in Rescue HQ – The Tycoon on Windows May 28

Keep Cities Safe in Rescue HQ – The Tycoon on Windows May 28

PADERBORN, GERMANY — May 14, 2019 — Rescue HQ – The Tycoon, the emergency services management simulation developed by stillalive studios and published by the sim specialists at Aerosoft, dispatches onto Windows via Steam May 28, 2019.

Crises in San Francisco and Berlin are out of hand, but with clever ingenuity and a keen eye for management, the ultimate rescue center is possible. Police departments are on hand to prevent and halt crime, fire departments are prepared to halt blazing infernos, and medical services teams are ready to assist the infirmed and injured across the city.

Build and expand the city of your choice’s emergency services headquarters by hiring workers, purchasing property, and completing missions from the mayor. Mission rewards can increase reputation and add new vehicles, equipment, team members, workstations or more cash to further improve your headquarters. Manage the flow of money from city hall’s weekly budget, as equipment requires maintenance, and consistent emergencies can cause resources to dwindle.

Keep the headquarters humming by making sure the day and night shifts are happy with a common room and the resources they require. Unhappy workers mean worse response times and maybe even desertion as employees leave to find a manager who appreciates them. Build, hire, manage and keep expanding to keep things cool as the city heats up.

Dispatch first responders anywhere in the metropolis to help people in need. But dispatching doesn’t just happen with the click of a button. Effective management of vehicle types with different stats, personnel and experience require pre-emptive plans in addition to quick, reactionary thinking.

Some emergencies require all three teams to work together, from routine car crashes to special events including Football championships which may lead to riots to break up and fires to put out. Berlin or San Francisco could be under siege, leading to lawlessness and a scarcity of resources. It won’t ever get too serious though, as Rescue HQ – The Tycoon’s cute, approachable graphics and animations ensure the mood is always positive.

“We love sandbox-type games where we can manage many things at once, so police, firefighters and medical services seemed like a great fit for us,” said Winfried Diekmann, co-founder of Aerosoft. “With Rescue HQ – The Tycoon, we could combine our expertise in emergency services simulation with our passion for management games. Also, to get the community involved, Rescue HQ – The Tycoon supports extensive modding, enabling players to modify and add assets, scenarios, and entire maps of their own to the game.”

Rescue HQ – The Tycoon releases May 28, 2019 in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, and Polish on Windows. For more information, please visit the official website.

The Killing Floor Franchise’s 10-Year Anniversary Lands Just Ahead of Killing Floor: Double Feature, Coming Soon on May 21 exclusively for PlayStation®4

ROSWELL, Ga. – May 14, 2019 – Today, publisher and developerTripwire Interactive celebrates the 10-year anniversary of the Killing Floor franchise. Since the horror based co-op first person shooter first launched on May 14, 2009 for PC on Steam, the Killing Floor franchise, including the original Killing Floor, Killing Floor 2, and Killing Floor: Incursion, has sold nearly 10 million units, earned over $100 million in franchise revenue, and has been played by over 15 million unique players worldwide.

Speaking to VentureBeat last year, Tripwire Interactive Vice President Alan Wilson attributes some of the long term success of Killing Floor to the studio’s efforts in providing regular and free content updates to players and Tripwire’s roots in the modding scene. “With Killing Floor, we’ve added all sorts of new things over the years,” said Wilson. “We started with seasonal events, which have been wildly successful. We also introduced new weapons, new game modes, new characters, etc.”

To-date, Killing Floor 2 players on PC, PlayStation®4, and Xbox One have seen numerous free seasonal updates that make painting the town red with blood feel fresh, with over 49 new maps and 139 mad scientist weapons and more on the way.

To celebrate 10 years of Killing Floor, Tripwire Interactive has released a fun infographic highlighting some of the series’ major milestones and player achievements. PC players can also look forward to a major Tripwire Interactive Steam publisher sale that starts later today and runs through Monday, May 20, 2019. The Tripwire Steam Publisher Sale will include deep discounts on the entire Tripwire Interactive Steam catalog including last week’s Spring Content Update for Rising Storm 2: Vietnam.

The retail version of Killing Floor: Double Feature will also come fully loaded with the fan-favorite Mrs. Foster Playable Character DLC from Killing Floor 2, along with all the Seasonal Content released since the game launched, making it the perfect entry point for newcomers to the series that continues to engage players with regular, high-quality updates.
