Developed by Decemberborn Interactive and published by Elden Pixels, Cathedral has been lovingly brought over to Nintendo Switch. On PC the game already has a cult following among metroidvania enthusiasts, with an 87% positive user rating. On Nintendo Switch Cathedral finds its natural home, having been inspired by classic platform and metroidvania games from the NES and SNES era.

“We’re just a week away from launch and can’t wait to see what Nintendo players think of this epic and sprawling metroidvania love letter,” said Eric Lavesson of Decemberborn Interactive. “We’ve shared some new direct-feed gameplay from the Switch version to give you all a taste of what to expect from the final experience. I hope you all enjoy Cathedral as much as our PC community has!”

With over 600 rooms to explore across its huge interconnected world map, Cathedral presents an 8-bit audiovisual feast that has been created with contemporary metroidvania game design principles. Cathedral’s expansive map is completely hand-crafted in meticulous pixel art detail, filled to the brim with all sorts of locations, secrets, puzzles, items and special challenges. Using the handy map feature is a must for gamers wanting to uncover every mystery this game holds. Prepare for a rollicking, noble adventure that will challenge and entertain for hours!

In Cathedral, players wake up in a world with no recollection of how they got there. Control a nameless knight from a different world, who teams up with a spirit known as Soul. Explore the world together to figure out who you are, how you got there, and most importantly, how to get back home. Unravel the secrets of the knight’s past by finding five legendary elemental orbs. The orbs, placed in ancient times by the demi-god known only as Ardur, are protected by five fearsome guardians. Make your way through their dungeons, meet them head-on in combat, and see if you can defeat and claim the treasure they are guarding! In classic metroidvania fashion, on your journey you’ll find a host of items that allow you to explore the world even further, reaching new areas, secrets and surprises!

Cathedral is coming to Nintendo Switch February 18th, where it will be available for purchase on the eShop £12.59 / $14.99 / €13.99. Pre-order the game from today for a 20% discount. The game is also available now on Steam.

SIX DAYS IN FALLUJAH RECREATES TRUE STORIES FROM THE TOUGHEST BATTLE OF THE IRAQ WAR

Cancelled by its original publisher in 2009, tactical military shooter based on real-world events is now in development by former Halo and Destiny leadership

Seattle, Washington – February 11, 2021. Victura and Highwire Games today announced Six Days in Fallujah, a first-person tactical military shooter based on true stories from the Second Battle for Fallujah in 2004, coming to PC and consoles in 2021. Originally announced by Atomic Games in 2009, Six Days in Fallujah returns with a new publisher, new developer and an all-new game from many of the core leadership team who created the original Halo and Destiny games.

“Sometimes the only way to understand what’s true is to experience reality for yourself,” says former Marine Sergeant Eddie Garcia, who was wounded during the Battle for Fallujah and proposed the original idea for Six Days in Fallujah in 2005. “War is filled with uncertainty and tough choices that can’t be understood by watching someone on a TV or movie screen make these choices for you. Video games can help all of us understand real-world events in ways other media can’t.”

The Second Battle for Fallujah began in 2004 after Al Qaeda seized control of one of Iraq’s major cities. The battle proved to be the toughest military conflict for Western forces since 1968.

Atomic Games announced Six Days in Fallujah in 2009, but saw the title abandoned by its original publisher following controversy about the ability of video games to cover challenging real-world events. Victura is a publishing and production company founded in 2016 by former Atomic Games CEO Peter Tamte with the goal of bringing a new Six Days in Fallujah to players, along with other games based on true stories.

Working in partnership with frontline Marines and Soldiers who fought in the Battle for Fallujah, Victura and Highwire have spent more than three years building unique technologies and game mechanics that bring players closer to the uncertainty and tactics of modern combat than other video games have explored.

Over 100 Marines, Soldiers, and Iraqi civilians who were present during the Second Battle for Fallujah have shared their personal stories, photographs, and video recordings with the development team. The game gives these stories voice through gameplay and first-person accounts captured in original documentary interview footage. Six Days in Fallujah aims to be the most authentic military shooter to date and to tell these military and civilian stories with the integrity they deserve.

“It’s hard to understand what combat is actually like through fake people doing fake things in fake places,” says Peter Tamte, CEO of Victura. “This generation showed sacrifice and courage in Iraq as remarkable as any in history. And now they’re offering the rest of us a new way to understand one of the most important events of our century. It’s time to challenge outdated stereotypes about what video games can be.”

Six Days in Fallujah will launch for PC and consoles in 2021. Victura will announce more details about Six Days in Fallujah in the coming weeks.

For more information about the game go to Six Days in Fallujah at www.sixdays.com where you can also read a letter from the team about why it’s important for this game to be made (https://sixdays.com/why). Six Days in Fallujah is also on Twitter (@VicturaGG), and YouTube.

OUTWIT ADVERSARIES IN AN EPIC FIGHT FOR ANCIENT CHINA IN ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS XIV: DIPLOMACY AND STRATEGY EXPANSION PACK, AVAILABLE NOW

An All-New Chapter in the Classic Series Emerges on PlayStation 4, Windows PC via Steam, and for the First Time on Nintendo Switch

Hertfordshire, 11th February 2021 – Today, KOEI TECMO Europe and famed developer Kou Shibusawa are proud to launch Romance of The Three Kingdoms XIV: Diplomacy and Strategy Expansion Pack on the PlayStation®4, Nintendo Switch™, and digitally on Windows PC via Steam®. This Expansion Pack is the latest addition to the RTK historic simulation franchise that has been a staple in strategy gaming for over 35 years.

The Diplomacy and Strategy Expansion Pack introduces four new scenarios into the Three Kingdoms experience, enabling gamers to play as unique warlords who were active during several stages of the time period – and depending on the forces chosen, players will be presented with completely different paths in their attempts to unify China. The four new Scenarios include “The Intentions of Two Yuans” (October 191), a story that depicts how the ambition of warlords clash after the Anti-Dong Zhuo Coalition collapses; “The Battle of Chibi” (October 208), the biggest turning point for Romance of the Three Kingdoms; the “Anti-Guan Yu Coalition” (July 219), where Wei and Wu join forces to prevent Guan Yu from advancing north; and “The Conquest of Liaodong” (January 238), portraying the subjugation of Gongsun Yuan, the King of Yan, by Sima Yi. And while the game portrays classic events like Sun Jian’s sudden death and Zhou Yu’s scheme to sow dissension, players will also be able to create their own striking moments with the new Event Editor. Here, players can combine backgrounds, speakers, BGM, messages, and officer images into a historic recreation all their own.

In addition, the thrilling new War Chronicles Mode introduces five new short scenarios to the battlefield, including the “Anti Dong Zhou Coalition”, “The Battle of Guandu”, “The Battle of Chibi”, “The Battle for Jing Province”, and “The Battle for Wuzhang Plains”. In this new mode, gamers will take command of forces which cannot be chosen in normal scenarios — such as Zhou Yu in “The Battle of Chibi” and rivals Zhuge Liang or Sima Yi in the heated “Battle of Wuzhang Plains” — and each scenario will include original events, adding even more excitement to the classic scenes in Romance of the Three Kingdoms. At the conclusion of each scenario, players will be evaluated and given a score according to several factors including how many turns were used, how many orders were consumed, and how many times a coordinated tactic was executed, testing the true skills of every gamer out on the virtual battlefield.

New officer characteristics and special tactics have also been added, along with new buildings for specific topography, a calendar that enables you to reflect on previous activities in the game, the ability to trade with the great Eurasian empires like Rome and India, and the all-new “Destroy Building” ability – enabling you to sabotage structures on the map, and even set traps like falling rocks!

Also included in the Expansion Pack is the ability for players to interact with cities of foreign tribes, including the tribes of Wuhuan, Xianbei, Qiang, Nanman and Shanyue. While it has always been important to deal with conflicts in the central areas of China, now players must think twice about strategies on the borders where tense battles can now emerge. If players decide to open trade with the foreign tribes of the region, they can send envoys to develop their relations after acquiring certain geographic advantages. For example: conquering Yo Province allows friendships to form with Wuhuan, while conquering Bing Province allows strong relations to form with Xianbei. Players will also have the choice to deploy their troops to conquer these tribes. Once players form strong relations with, or successfully conquer the tribe, an Outlander Officer will join their forces. These extremely powerful officers utilize the “Siyi” formation to gain the upper hand in mountainous areas or forests. In fact, each tribe has a unique trait assigned to them — Qiang officers can activate “Bow Cavalry”, while Xianbei officers are equipped with “War Chariot”. Strategically recruiting Outlander Officers with desired traits will be pivotal in unifying China!

Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV: Diplomacy and Strategy Expansion Pack features a variety of early purchase bonus items that will be available to freely download within the first two weeks from launch. The bonus scenario ‘The Fall of Shu Han’ will be available for players on all platforms, while the ‘Battle of Yiling’ scenario, originally a bonus for the release of Romance of The Three Kingdoms XIV, will be available exclusively to Switch players. Additionally, the ‘Legends of Galactic Heroes’ collaboration scenario ‘In the Middle of an Endless Dream’ and all characters of ‘Legend of the Galactic Heroes’ collaboration DLC #1 through #5 will be available as a Switch exclusive bonus. Characters excluding Reinhard and Yang will be available for two weeks after launch. A variety of free updates will also be made available to the game post launch.

Borderlands 3 – Director’s Cut, Tales from the Borderlands and Broken Hearts Day revealed

Borderlands® 3 Director’s Cut Add-on and New Premium Cosmetics Revealed; Tales from the Borderlands® and Broken Hearts Day Event Return

A brand new raid boss, murder mystery missions, daily and weekly challenges, and behind-the-scenes extras coming to the latest Borderlands 3 add-on, launching March 18

The latest episode of The Borderlands Show was packed with exciting updates and announcements, including news on the upcoming Director’s Cut* add-on for Borderlands® 3, the impending re-release of award-winning adventure title Tales from the Borderlands®, the Disciples of the Vault premium cosmetic packs coming soon to Season Pass 2*, the return of the Broken Hearts Day seasonal event, and special limited-time discounts on select digital editions of Borderlands 3 on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.**

Director’s Cut launches March 18 and will be available individually or as part of Season Pass 2.The add-on features an enticing variety of content, but the headline act is its brand new raid boss: Hemovorous the Invincible, an absolutely titanic Varkid lurking behind a door on Pandora that’s been locked since Borderlands 3 launched. Only the fiercest big game hunters have a chance of kicking her chitinous butt in the pursuit of top-tier loot. Better consider your tactics, refine your build, and bring some friends. Oh, and be ready to get caked in Varkid guts — it’s going to get messy!

Director’s Cut also includes a series of murder mystery missions, featuring brand new locations and a novel crime scene analysis mechanic. Ava is convinced she has a lead on some potentially supernatural slayings and has decided to document her findings in serialized podcast form. Consider yourself her gun-toting co-host as you investigate strange happenings on Pandora, Promethea, Eden-6, and Nekrotafeyo in search of answers (and loot), with help from some familiar faces. Eagle-eyed Vault Hunters may even uncover teasers, hints, and secrets that tie back to the main story.

In addition, Director’s Cut will give you access to three Vault Cards, which are your ticket to upcoming bundles of themed loot! When you play with a Vault Card active, you can work to level-up the card by completing daily and weekly challenges. There’s a selection of over 100 unique challenges to pull from, so you never know exactly what each day and week may bring. Gain enough progress and you’ll unlock a massive cache of themed cosmetics, plus some supremely powerful gear that scales to your level.

The first of the three Vault Cards, which will launch as part of Director’s Cut, features items that honour some of Borderlands’ most beloved fallen heroes; the remaining two Vault Cards are scheduled to launch by the end of 2021. Vault Card content doesn’t expire, and when multiple Vault Cards are available, you’ll have the option to select which one you want active at any given time.

And finally, the Director’s Cut add-on delivers a treasure trove of never-before-seen behind-the-scenes content. You’ll get a peek into the development of Borderlands 3,from bloopers to cut content, and have access to a gallery showcasing concept art, storyboards, lost maps, and tons of footage that charts the game’s development.

Today’s episode of The Borderlands Show also surprised Vault Hunters with a new set of Multiverse cosmetic multipacks called The Disciples of the Vault. Much like the Final Form multipacks, The Disciples of the Vault multipacks each contain a one-of-a-kind Vault Hunter Body with a new Head to match. These latest cosmetics give you a look at what would have become of the Vault Hunters had they joined the Children of the Vault and will be available for purchase individually, though Season Pass 2 and Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition owners will receive all four multipacks at no additional cost. Either way, the Disciples of The Vault arrive on March 18.

In other exciting news, award-winning narrative-driven adventure game Tales from the Borderlands returns next week after more than a year away from digital storefronts! Set between the events of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3, Tales from the Borderlands follows two unreliable narrators on a quest borne of greed but destined for greatness. Your choices shape this tale to be uniquely yours, with plenty of unforeseen consequences ranging from hilarious to heart-wrenching. See the eventual fates of unforgettable characters like Handsome Jack and Scooter in this essential piece of the Borderlands canon. This re-released version consolidates all five original episodes into a single package, which launches on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on February 17. And that’s not all, Vault Hunters: the free Broken Hearts Day seasonal event returns to Borderlands 3 on February 11. If you missed ’em last year, don’t miss ’em again now. Broken Hearts Day runs until February 25
