KungFu Kickball Strikes Steam Early Access on April 13

SYDNEY – March 25, 2021 – KungFu Kickball, the team-based sports platform fighter from publisher Blowfish Studios and developer WhaleFood Games, strikes from the shadows and launches on Steam Early Access for Windows PC and Mac on April 13, 2021.

Dive into a winning combo of competitive gaming that mixes the intensity of martial arts with the speed of sports. Join the fray in chaotic showdowns, outmaneuvering opponents on the field to slash a bouncing ball into a gigantic bell that clangs to signal every score. 

KungFu Kickball’s Early Access launch includes five arenas to compete in and five classes to master. Take on all comers as the agile Assassin, heavy-hitting Old Master, well-rounded Monk, the unpredictable Drunken Boxer, and an unlockable special character in 1v1 and 2v2 online or local multiplayer matches. Hone each character’s skills in training mode.

Designed with an intuitive three-button control scheme for pick-up-and-play accessibility, KungFu Kickball is all about momentum, reaction, and execution. Combine jumps, attacks, and short-range teleport dashes into an athletic dance of offensive flurries and defensive stands.

SAMURAI WARRIORS 5 takes place inside the Sengoku period, during which an inverted social order extends across Japan. Among those figures, the great daimyō, Yoshimoto Imagawa, dispatches his troops to escort the minor daimyo of the neighboring nation – Ieyasu Tokugawa – as a hostage. SAMURAI WARRIORS 5 begins with Nobunaga, along with his childhood friend Toshiie Maeda, as they make a raid on the Imagawa Army in order to rescue Ieyasu from his captors.

In SAMURAI WARRIORS 5, this and every raid will be complemented by the all-new ability to unleash Ultimate Skill attacks on enemies. Ultimate Skills are incredibly powerful actions that can be used during battle, with players able to equip up to four types of Ultimate Skills at any one time. Ultimate Skill types include the Avalanche, enabling you to thrust your Great Spear into the earth to create a shockwave that stuns nearby enemies; Recuperation, where you can either increase your attack power or defense, or recharge your Musou Gauge; Relentless Storm, where you throw enemies into the air, beat them to a pulp, then bring them down to the ground with a strike from your Great Spear; and Pulse, an Ultimate Skill suited for continuing combos, enabling you to connect Pulse Ultimate Skills and Musou attacks.

In addition, Hyper Attacks return to the battlefield, enabling characters to travel great distance while assaulting enemies. As the Hyper Attack allows you to round up combatants and can be connected to a standard attack, it acts as the perfect starting point for any battle.

Alongside the new battle details, nine characters were also announced to join the fray. These larger-than-life personalities include Kanbei Kuroda, Shikanosuke Yamanaka, Sena, Hanbei Takenaka, Kazuuji Nakamura, Tadakatsu Honda, Toshiie Maeda, Oichi, and Nagamasa Azai. All of the game’s character models have been completely redesigned and re-imagined in a vibrant new style to help showcase the storyline’s Sengoku time period in spectacularly impressive fashion.

Cross-platform launch unites gamers, Crayator and Ben Prendergast celebrate Apex Legends arrival on Switch with an epic live broadcast

Australia, March 18. In celebration of EA Games’ Apex Legends arrival on Switch and the launch of Season 8, celebrity gamer Crayator caught up with Apex Legends voice actor Ben Prendergast to share their love of gaming from two different worlds on two different platforms.

The Aussie legends teamed up for a live stream on Sunday, March 14, to showcase the game’s cross platform functionality and introduce the first Australian inspired Legend, Fuse, voiced by Australian pop culture veteran and voice actor Ben Predergast.

Throughout the two hour live stream, hosted by Crayator, the team tested out Apex Legend’s first homegrown Australian character, Fuse, who is voiced by Ben Prendergast. This explosive new addition to the game’s Legends features a set of new abilities to challenge players, with apt names such as the Knuckle Cluster. 

During the broadcast it became clear that Fuse and Ben shared more than just a striking resemblance and voice, with the actor’s joyous and laid back personality entertaining both viewers and Crayator throughout. 

“When I read the characters’ lines, backstory and abilities, I couldn’t help but laugh,” said Pendergast, “To pair an offensive Legend, whose an explosive enthusiast, with an Australian accent just made perfect sense in my mind. I’m looking forward to confusing teammates with custom voice lines as I play”. 

Dropping lines like “get my budgie smugglers in a twist” while preparing to dive into Kings Canyon with a Joy-Con controller, Ben and Crayator delved deep into the latest season updates from new weapons, map changes, and the long awaited debut of in-game vehicles.

Sharing his thoughts on the experience, Crayator was clear that he felt he scored more than a Champion title from the showcase, “pairing up with Ben has earned me more than bragging rights, it’s always something special to collaborate with a genuine champion of the industry, who has behind the scenes insights and a hilarious attitude to match”. 

Highlighting the value of Apex Legend’s new cross platform functionality, Crayator said, “it’s a lot more exciting than people realise. The opportunity for gamers to play together on different platforms is a big deal, and [it’s] just another positive step towards inclusivity and accessibility for our community.”

Apex Legends arrived on the Nintendo Switch on March 9, with the move allowing the game’s reach to expand massively, bringing in an entirely new crowd who typically don’t have access to high-end PCs. Encouraging a new level of inclusivity amongst consoles.

To support the release, Nintendo has also provided a handful of perks for anyone who plays the game on the Switch, including 30 free battle pass levels and a legendary Pathfinder skin.
