Miniature Painter Simulator Brings the Real-World Hobby to Steam Next Fest

Paint, customize, import models, and run an online miniature painting shop in a new Steam Next Fest demo

Bradford, England (June 15, 2026) | Today, developer Swain Games announced that Miniature Painter Simulator is participating in Steam Next Fest with a playable demo available from June 15–22 on Steam. Ahead of its full launch later this year, the demo invites players to experience the creativity of miniature painting in a digital space, whether they want to run a growing hobby business or simply paint at their own pace.

Watch the latest trailer for Miniature Painter Simulator:

Miniature Painter Simulator is designed for anyone who has ever wanted to try miniature painting but lacked the time, space, supplies, or confidence to get started. Instead of buying paints, brushes, models, tools, and accessories in real life, players can settle into a fully digital hobby bench where they can paint, customize, and experiment freely.

In the game’s shop-management mode, players run their own online miniature painting shop, taking on client requests to clean, repair, paint, and customize miniatures. Completed jobs earn in-game currency that can be spent on new models, paints, accessories, workshop upgrades, and improved tools, creating a satisfying loop of creative work and shop progression.

For players who want to focus entirely on painting, free-painting mode removes jobs, time constraints, and in-game currency management. Customization extends beyond paint, with grass, boulders, and other scenic base details helping players create diorama-style pieces. Players can also import custom models through Steam Workshop or directly in-game, then export painted textures to edit manually or share with friends.

Miniature Painter Simulator Key Features

  • Try Miniature Painting Digitally: Experience the hobby without needing real-world paints, brushes, models, workspace, or prior experience.
  • Run an Online Miniature Painting Shop: Take on client jobs, clean and repair miniatures, fulfill requests, sell finished work, and use in-game earnings to upgrade the shop.
  • Paint Without Pressure: Jump into free-painting mode to focus entirely on painting, decorating, and experimenting.
  • Add the Finishing Touches: Decorate bases with grass, boulders, and scenic elements to create more personalized miniatures.
  • Import Custom Models: Bring custom miniatures into the game through Steam Workshop or direct in-game importing.
  • Export and Share Creations: Export painted miniature textures, manually edit them, or send them to friends.

“Miniature painting has always been a passion of mine, but getting started can feel intimidating,” said Ben Swain, Lead Developer at Swain Games. “The Steam Next Fest demo gives players a chance to sit down at the digital hobby bench, experiment at their own pace, and discover the fun of painting miniatures without worrying about supplies, space, or getting everything perfect.”

Players can download the Miniature Painter Simulator demo during Steam Next Fest from June 15–22 and wishlist the game now on Steam

1666: Amsterdam unveils the first episode of its new Developer Diary series, Behind the Shadows

Montreal, June 15th, 2026 – Panache Digital Games and acclaimed game creator Patrice Désilets have released the first episode of Behind the Shadows, a new Developer Diary series dedicated to the making of 1666: Amsterdam.

Titled “The Vision: The Real City That Became a Myth” this inaugural episode takes viewers behind the creative vision of the game, exploring how the team transformed the real streets of Amsterdam into a world shaped by mystery, superstition, and hidden truths.

Featured in the video:

  • Patrice Désilets – Co-Founder & Creative Director
  • Jean-François Boivin – Co-Founder & Executive Producer
  • Éléa Gadéa – Researcher & Marketing Coordinator
  • Maxime Fortin – Senior Level Designer

The diary reveals how the entire studio travelled to Amsterdam in 2024 to study the city’s streets, canals, architecture, sounds, and atmosphere firsthand. Rather than relying solely on historical references, the team immersed themselves in the city’s environment to better understand its scale, rhythm, and character.

Viewers will also learn more about the game’s exploration systems, including the ability to enter houses, traverse rooftops, and navigate the city alongside a feline companion, creating multiple opportunities for discovery and player choice.

Filmed at the historic Château Ramezay in Old Montreal, the first Developer Diary marks the beginning of a new series that will provide regular insights into the development of 1666: Amsterdam.

Key Quotes

“Inviting the studio to Amsterdam was, at its core, about sharing something. We gathered everyone and said: come into your game. Come experience it the way I did.”
Patrice Désilets, Co-Founder & Creative Director

“Looking at references online is one thing. Being there in person, seeing the proportions, feeling the textures and atmosphere, that’s something entirely different.”
Jean-François Boivin, Co-Founder & Executive Producer

“The player can explore every available house in the neighbourhood, enter through a window with their cat, move across rooftops, and discover entirely different opportunities depending on how they choose to approach the city.”
Maxime Fortin, Senior Level Designer

1666: Amsterdam is set to launch in Early Access on PC in 2026, with console versions planned for a later date. Players eager to follow this journey can now wishlist the game on Steam and the Epic Games Store. For more information about Panache Digital Games please visit the official website here.

Etheria: Restart Season SS5 Begins Today, Adding New Hard Mode, Characters, And More

SS5 Summer Surprise runs to 10 August

Shanghai, China June 11, 2026 | XD Games is thrilled to announce that the new Etheria: Restart season – SS5 Summer Surprise – begins today and will run to 10 August 2026. In addition to five new playable Animus, this brand new season will usher in a new difficulty option, a new boss fight, and an in-game community-led build recommendation system.

Watch the SS5 Summer Surprise trailer below:

To lend a helping hand to new players coming into the world of Etheria: Restart, the Main Quest UI has been overhauled in favour of a streamlined, more understandable linear stage path featuring the prologue and main story missions. Main Quest now has a new Hard Mode, too, which will provide a difficulty spike for players seeking more of a test, as well as greater rewards for those who complete challenges.

As part of Summer Surprise, the Grim Pursuit challenge mode is getting a new boss in the form of Vespera. By taking on the Doom Sea adversary, players can obtain powerful Module Matrices: Overflow grants a shield to all allies at the beginning of a battle; Profanation deals increased damage to shielded targets; Virulent Toxin depletes an enemy’s HP after a debuff has been successfully applied; Chasing Dawn boosts a player’s Turn Meter after using non-offensive skills; Unyielding Oath increases damage reduction; and Ebullition Strike raises attack power when repeatedly striking the same enemy within a single turn.

Watch the SS5 preview below:

From today, every Grim Pursuit stage that drops Mythic Shells will also have a new extra-hard Abyss difficulty option, which will allow players to farm Shells directly. However, once the new Matrices go live, players will be able to equip them onto the Mythic Shells they already own, meaning they can upgrade their current gear from the beginning of Summer Surprise.

Before SS5, very basic gear recommendations for Animus appeared on the upgrade screen. This feature has been completely reworked in favour of something much deeper: Strategy Guides. Players looking for tips can now inspect the Animus builds of others via the Guides Plaza; alternatively, they can help others by sharing their own. This will aid players looking for the best combination of Shells, Module Matrices, and Imprint Components for their chosen Animus.

Watch the New Animus Nathenn trailer below:

Five new Animus will join Etheria: Restart during SS5, starting today with Nathenn and Sylvia. The kinetic HP-based damage dealer Nathenn — the Fifth Warden of Elysian — can break through enemy lines with ease thanks to his high speed stats; artist Sylvia, meanwhile, is a support Animus, capable of simultaneously attacking an enemy with her brush, while reducing the skills cooldown of allies.

Additional Animus will come to Etheria: Restart throughout SS5, such as priestess pharmacologist Areal, who will be available from 2 July. The final Animus drop of this season comes on 23 July, with the arrival of Piayera and Danvery. Further details on these characters will be revealed closer to their respective dates on Etheria: Restart’s social channels.

Watch the New Animus Sylvia trailer below:

For more on everything mentioned above, as well as news on skins, outfits, and the new Ruin Hegemony boss rush mode coming later this season, you can watch the Hypertalk Ep. 8: SS5 Season Preview on the official Etheria: Restart YouTube channel. Additionally, you can check out the full patch notes and balance adjustments for SS5 on the official website.

Etheria: Restart is available to play for free now on PC, iOS, and Android.

Dunebound Tactics Brings Survival, Sacrifice, and Tactical Warfare to Steam Next Fest

Updated demo introduces new content, gameplay improvements, and fresh challenges across the deadly Sands.

Every journey across the Sands comes at a cost. Supplies run low. Crew members die. Hope fades with every mile. During Steam Next Fest, players can experience that struggle firsthand in the Dunebound Tactics demo, a roguelite turn-based tactical RPG from Terahard Studios and publishing partner indie.io. Running from June 15-22, Steam Next Fest will feature an updated demo packed with community-driven improvements, previously unreleased content, and a deeper look at the harsh world awaiting those desperate enough to search for Haven.

Set in a world where a mysterious resource known as Elios has transformed life, death, and the balance of power itself, Dunebound Tactics follows a band of survivors fleeing the reach of a brutal empire. Legend speaks of Haven, a sanctuary hidden beyond the endless desert. Few are willing to seek it.

Players command a mobile caravan across the shifting Sands, managing scarce resources while navigating hostile encounters, difficult choices, and an ever-changing journey. Every expedition presents new opportunities and dangers as rival factions, deadly creatures, and environmental hazards stand between the survivors and their destination.

Combat blends turn-based tactical battles with highly interactive environments. Players can summon pillars to create cover, block enemy advances, reshape the battlefield, or trigger devastating chain reactions. Terrain itself becomes a weapon as explosive objects, environmental hazards, and strategic positioning create opportunities to overcome overwhelming odds.

Beyond the battlefield, survival requires difficult decisions. Elios powers the caravan’s journey across the desert, but supplies are limited. Crew members can be recruited, lost, or even sacrificed to continue the expedition. Every choice carries consequences, shaping both the journey and the fate of those who undertake it.

The Steam Next Fest demo represents the most complete public version of Dunebound Tactics yet, incorporating player feedback gathered from previous playtests while introducing new content not previously available. As development continues, players can help shape the future of the game while experiencing its unique blend of tactical combat, resource management, and high-stakes survival. Players can download the updated demo and begin their search for Haven during Steam Next Fest from June 15-22. To follow development updates and future announcements, wishlist Dunebound Tactics on Steam and follow Terahard Studios on social media.

Cozy Builder Brings Multiplayer Château Building to Steam Next Fest

Restore a vineyard valley, craft artisanal wine, and build dream homes together

[Oregon, USA – June 11, 2026] Build a dream château, restore a vineyard valley, and now do it all with friends. Cozy Builder is heading to Steam Next Fest from June 15-22, giving players their first opportunity to experience multiplayer in the cozy sandbox builder’s evolving demo. Following its debut during Steam’s House & Home Fest, the demo has continued to grow through community feedback, introducing new objectives, building tools, architectural pieces, and quality-of-life improvements that players can experience throughout the festival.

Cozy Builder is a relaxing sandbox building experience where players design and restore charming homes across a tranquil vineyard valley. While it shares the creative freedom of cozy builders like Tiny Glade and Townscaper, Cozy Builder introduces a unique modular puzzle-building system, inviting players to craft their dream château while rebuilding a countryside shaped by quiet disaster.

Set in the aftermath of an earthquake, Cozy Builder places players in a once-thriving valley now left in disrepair. As the valley’s builder, players restore damaged homes, help revitalize the countryside, and create a beautiful retreat of their own among rolling vineyards and sunlit hills.

Since first appearing during Steam’s House & Home Fest, the Cozy Builder demo has continued to evolve based on player feedback. New decorating objectives, expanded builder-focused tasks, additional architectural pieces, Builder Cam, Smart Placement, blueprint previews, performance improvements, and other quality-of-life enhancements have helped shape the most complete version of the demo yet.

During Steam Next Fest, players can:

  • Build together in multiplayer for the first time
  • Restore earthquake-damaged homes through Cozy Builder’s unique modular puzzle-building system
  • Design and decorate both interiors and exteriors, from cozy living spaces to ivy-covered gardens and greenhouse sanctuaries
  • Take on new decorating objectives and begin building a home of their own through expanded builder-focused tasks
  • Use new building tools, including Builder Cam, Smart Placement, and enhanced hint systems designed to make construction smoother and more intuitive
  • Experiment with new architectural pieces and get a first look at the upcoming blueprint system planned for the full release
  • Harvest grapes and craft artisanal wine and preserves while helping bring life back to the valley
  • Live inside completed creations and enjoy a relaxing experience with no combat, fail states, or time pressure

The Steam Next Fest demo represents the most complete version of Cozy Builder yet. Whether carefully restoring historic homes, designing a dream château from the ground up, cultivating vineyards, decorating greenhouse sanctuaries, or simply unwinding with friends in a countryside retreat of their own making, players are free to shape the valley at their own pace.

Players can begin restoring the valley with friends during Steam Next Fest from June 15-22 by downloading the Cozy Builder demo on Steam and wishlisting the game to follow its continued development.
