Meet the voice of Mario, Charles Martinet, in-store at The Nintendo Experience!

Aussie fans have a fantastic opportunity to meet the voice of Mario, Charles Martinet, in-store at The Nintendo Experience, EB Games Swanston St, this Wednesday 9 September at 11:30am.

Charles has been the voice of the lovable plumber Mario for Nintendo for nearly 20 years. He also provides the voice of several other Nintendo characters such as Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, Baby Mario and Baby Luigi. This event will give fans the chance to come along and meet the voice behind these iconic characters.

The first 50 people in line to met Charles will receive a great Mario gift bag! Nintendo will also be running a best dressed Nintendo character competition, with the winner set to receive a great Mario Wii Pack including a Wii and six Mario Wii Games. EB Games Swanston St will be running some great deals whilst Charles is in store: with a range of Mario Wii games available for $59 each and a range of Mario Nintendo DS games for $42 each.

Enter the seedy world of a saboteur living in a stylized 1940s Paris, where the women are sexy, the missions are epic, and the revenge is satisfying.

We have to great titles released on Xbox Live Arcade this week (Wednesday).  Both for a reasonable price.

First We have :

Sonic & Knuckles (400) ms points

The blue hedgehog and the red echidna were sworn adversaries in Sonic 3, but in the platform adventure Sonic & KnucklesTM, Knuckles realizes that he’s been just a pawn in the schemes of Dr. Eggman (aka Dr. Robotnik). Knuckles, the former adversary, now supports Sonic to chase the common enemy, and each must use their strengths to acquire the priceless Master Emerald and save Angel Island.

Who's This Guy ?? Where is he NOW ? Should he come back ?

Anyone know who this guy is ??

Back in the day Capcom used this guy as a mascot that appeared in the packaging and manuals of many of Capcom’s earlier console titles released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in North America from 1986 to 1989.

This guy appreared in the manuals of such games as 1942, Commando, Ghosts ‘n Goblins, Mega Man, Trojan, Section Z and Gun Smoke and were labeled as his own “Challenge series” and was drawn on the back of the packaging.

As you might be aware this guy was deplicted as a “futuristic” space hero with a raygun in both hands, with two large medallions around his neck with the letter “C” on each.

Within the Instruction manuals there was a “Specal Message” from him thanking and congratulating the owner of the game for purchasing Capcoms products.

This guy also appeared in game manuals of later titles such as Strider, Mega Man 2, Willow and Ducktales but this time he was wearing a pilot suit and was standing in front of a fighter jet he also had a message to “look to (him) for up-to-date reports for all the exciting action games from Capcom”

He also made his game debute in 1991 as a proper video game character in his self-titled beat-em-up for the arcade in which he is a futuristic crime-fighter who leads his Team, composed of him and his three Companions, against an organization of “super-criminals” seeking to conquer the Earth.

He would also return as a player character in the fighting game Marvel Vs Capcom in 1998 as well as Marvel vs Cacom 2 as one of the characters representing Capcom. 

WHO IS THIS MAN OF MYSTERY ??  Whats his name ?? Well its none other than

(drum roll please) 

CAPTAIN COMMANDO !!!

Twisted Pixel's new game-Comic Jumper: The Adventures of Captain Smiley

Twisted Pixel, the studio behind Xbox Live hit ‘Splosion Man and the MAW revealed its third original IP at PAX 2009 this past weekend:

Comic Jumper: The Adventures of Captain Smiley

Check out the trailer below, the game is shaping up to a side-scrolling action title filled with the humor the Twisted Pixel studios has become known for.

Comic Jumper’s game visuals are said to change depending on what comic world you’re in.  A similar old school title that was recently relesed on Xbox Live Arcade was Sega’s Comix Zone.  Where as Comix Zone doesn’t look as visually stunning and no where near as funny as Comic Jumper the two have a similar feel to them.  Comic Jumper has impressed so far and I believe will be as popular as the other two great games Twisted Pixel Games have released thus far.

Twisted Pixel has yet to announce a release date for Comic Jumper, or what platforms it’ll be available on, best bet it will be released on Xbox Live Arcade. Hoping it will also be available on the Playstation Network (PSN) and Steam. Check out the trailer below to get your first taste of Captain Smiley and his sidekick!
