Nintendo’s E3 conference has brought about some information on a bit of our smaller friends. Satouru Iwata revealed that Miyamoto is planning to make a sequel for Nintendogs. No simple addition this time around. However there is a bit of extra news in this one. Nintendogs will be incorporating cats this time around, so if your a lover of the more mysterious feline friends then it will be arriving exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS. There is no release date for this one yet, but hey it’s some great news for fans of the game, or those who want pets but can’t due to overbearing landlords. Though a bit of info here, they have actually already released a Nintencats before even the first Nintendogs came out. But the sales were very band and thus the game was never released out of Japan.

Kinect Goes Purple
It appears purple may be this years green…
Amidst the E3 mayhem gaming giant Microsoft have released cover art for upcoming Xbox 360 Kinect titles displaying what could be considered a more family oriented approach – certainly more violet than violent! Microsoft are hoping that the unique look of the Kinect software casing will provide retailers with some great point of sale opportunities, particularly in high street stores, whilst highlighting and establishing the brand to consumers as something fresh and exciting from launch.
This striking re-design looks set to distinguish the Kinect lineup from the 360’s non-camera catalogue and who knows, with a redesigned 360 imminent it may even herald an across the board image change sometime in the near future.
‘I Am Alive’ Trailer Released
Ubisoft have released a new cinematic trailer for “I Am Alive” this has certainly been a very kept very quiet so far with UBISOFT not even showing any gameplay footage. The action is fast and furios and the lambert Locust are deadly, especially the transforming ones. Seems like you can do a whole of things in co-op which have a few people excited. Graphically the game looks amazing running on the new Unreal Engine.
Cliff also announced a new mode which they will be showing on the floor called BEAST !! ?? .. what is it .. well stay tuned 😉

Kinectability will require a bit of power
So you remember before how we said that the new Microsoft Kinect will be compatible with every 360 made to date? Well it still is, but there is a catch. You will also need another plug in on the wall or power strip. This is because if the Kinect is not connected to the new Slim 360 you will instead have to power it using a power adapter which one would think will be included in purchase. There has been no news yet though if this actually will be incorporated or require a separate purchase though. Here is hoping it is included in that $150 price tag.

Need for Speed is Going Back to the Roots with a New Hot Pursuit Game!
In this generation so many games are receiving the “back to the roots” treatment, and Criterion Games (famous for the Burnout series) now has the job of reinventing the Need for Speed series with a new version for the classic Hot Pursuit division. The award-winning development team is making the latest installment in the renowned Need for Speed franchise, inspired by the classic game of the same name.
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit brings the franchise back to its roots with intense cops vs. racer chases, licensed cars, all-new online network called Need for Speed Autolog, and full careers as both a cop and a racer, solo or connected.
Check out some of the game’s features:
- Back to its Roots – The game is inspired by the original Need for Speed on 3DO – we loved the thrill of the driving the open road and shaking off the cops in exotic supercars. The first thing you’ll notice in our trailer is the open, high speed roads of the coastal, forest and desert regions – very reminiscent of our 3DO inspiration.
- License to Thrill – A stack of new toys to play with for the first time – real, licensed cars! The trailer shows what it’s like to run from the cops in the Koenigsegg CCX, McLaren’s incredible new MP4-12C and ultra exclusive Pagani Zonda Cinque. It would be a breeze if the cops weren’t packing equally exclusive hardware – the Ford Shelby GT500, the extraordinary Bugatti Veyron 16.4 and the legendary Lamborghini Murciélago for a start. But don’t get too attached – our pursuits are all about high speed aggressive driving. Don’t expect to finish in a pristine car!
- Escalating the Action – Cops are kitted out with a full suite of weapons and gear to help them bring lawbreakers to justice. As the pursuit escalates, so does the equipment available. The trailer shows “Road Block”, “Spike Strip” and “Helicopter Support” in action, but you’ll also make use of many others as a Cop and a Racer!
- Friends and Enemies – You see player IDs in the trailer, because online players are key to this Need for Speed – your friends are at the heart of the experience. All the action can be played online – meet up with friends to play as the cops, work together to escape the law or play against each other. A feature called “Autolog” tracks everything you do and uses that information to compare your performance with your friends and recommend new experiences to try.
At Criterion, we’ve been playing Need for Speed since it was first introduced on 3DO. We are honored and excited by the opportunity to reinvent the franchise for today’s connected audience. Our goal has been to create cops vs. racers pursuits that are so fun, fast and exciting it really brings to life the adrenaline and intensity of the high speed cop pursuit experience with your friends”. – Craig Sullivan, Creative Director of the game
The Hot Pursuit games were always my favorite from the Need for Speed series, so for me this new game is like a dream coming true!
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit will be available on November 16, 2010 in North America and on November 18 and 19, 2010 in Europe on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit will also be available on the Wii and is being developed by Exient.
Below you can see the initial screens, followed by the debut trailer!
Gamestop prices Kinect at $150, puts up bundles.
Looks like the rumors were right. Gamestop has placed prices for the Kinect at $150 pre-order and has also put together a few bundles with new consoles. The Elite Bundle is going to run $400 and the Arcade bundle will be $300. They have also put a price tag on Kinect Adventures! and Kinect Sports at $60. Though there is zero information about the brand new 360 which was released and being as there is no mention of a bundle for the Kinect plus new 360, it bears to question that these prices could be subject to change. Unfortunately the Kinect itself could actually run at that price.
Would you be willing to purchase the Kinect at $150? How about if they put together an even better bundle with the new 360 Slim? If anything else the price for either 360 plus the Kinect would only place the Kinect at $100.
