Below you will find two videos showing gameplay from the upcoming game, LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4. If you have seen the movie or read the book the videos will be instantly familiar. Plus some added humor makes everything even funnier. I’m just glad to see they based the game more heavily on the book even if the sphinx from the book still only plays a small role in the game.
Check out both videos below. LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 will be out June 25th in the UK and Europe, June 29th in North America.

Anthropomorphic squirrel girl? A skimpy outfit? A fighting game?! That is all in one neat little package right there. Or more like Blazblue: Continuum Shift is the package, and Makoto the squirrel girl is the bow on top for a bit of an extra fee. Arc System has released a bit of information about two DLC characters that will be available for the game on August 5th, a full month after Japanese release on July 1st, but only a few days past Aksys’ American release date of July 27th.
Makoto Nanaya is the new character to the lineup, but maybe not as new as one would think. If you have played the previous game of the series; Blazblue: Calamity Trigger and advanced in the storyline you will have noticed Makoto playing around with Noel and being a part of her storyline.
Turns out that there is much more to Makoto as she is now a fighter for purchase in Continuum Shift, though no price has been set on her. Also we do not yet know if the DLC itself will be available for both the Japanese audience and the American audience, but I’m really hoping it also comes to America.
Another fighter that is available for download is an old favorite in the form of Nu. She was originally not included in the sequel, but plays a pivotal part in the first game. Not as much of a new addition but fans of her fast paced fighting style and teleporting blades will be glad to see her come back.
We will be seeing the full game on both the PS3 and the Xbox 360, and if you wish to read our review of Blazblue: Calamity Trigger you can do so here.
Sony has just released a bit of information about a brand new RPG coming out for the PS3 exclusively, and it will be out in September of this year. What is the game you ask? It relies heavily on alchemy, no it isn’t a Full Metal Alchemist game. It is Atelier Rorona, which was developed by Gust. It is the first entry to this series to ever reach American soils, while the rest of the Atelier series has been strictly released in Japan until now.
Here is a bit about the story itself for the upcoming JRPG:
Arland is a small kingdom that used to have a small, poor population. It has prospered recently thanks to newly recovered technology called the machines. Thanks to the machines, the people of Arland are able to live more convenient lives. Within the kingdom, there is a small alchemy shop where Rorona works for the owner, Astrid. The shop used to be successful, but because of the machines and Astrid’s laziness, no customers have come to the shop in a while. One day, a messenger from the kingdom visits the shop and Astrid and Rorona are hit with a dose of harsh reality. They must prove the worth of alchemy by completing all of their assignments over the next three years, or the kingdom will shut down their workshop!
Sounds a bit like Rorona is in a pinch, and that the main part of the story will involve doing various quests to silence the kingdom and their eviction notice. Quite an interesting premise if I do say so myself.
There is a new video that involves Microsoft’s own Scott Hinsen demonstrating the brand new Kinect dashboard interface. One interesting feature shown is that the Kinect will feature full facial recognition, allowing instant log on with a wave of the hand.
He also shows how the voice comands work as he navigates through the Zune Marketplace and tells the Kinect to do various actions related to watching a movie such as pausing and fast forwarding past boring parts.
A new video of the Kinect-controlled 360 dashboard has popped up, explaining how it’ll all work.
One thing that this brings to mind though, that while watching a movie or listening to music… what is to stop someone from coming in and telling it to stop or shut down. Will the Kinect have voice recognition as well to prevent this measure? Or will this be a new prank to be played on your room mates or siblings.
