Rocket Riot Lands on Windows Phone 7

Rocket Riot, a hit from the XBLA, has made its way to Windows Phone 7 devices like the Samsung Focus.  This game looks very cool and is described as “explosive arcade shooter, which combines the eight-bit era style from the eighties with a modern twist.”  If you are up to the challenge, grab your bazooka and jet pack and jet on over to the Windows Phone 7 marketplace.  Destructible environments and crazily insane enemies await you.  Last year, Rocket Riot won a Dutch Game Award, and it is now one of the  first games available for Windows Phone 7.  Remember that Windows Phone 7 has already released in Europe and will be launching on November 8 in the USA.

Peter de Jong, CEO Codeglue states: “When we started on this project, we were a bit skeptical if we could create the same explosive experience as we did on the Xbox 360, due the fact that we were developing for a mobile phone. Fortunately, the contrary was true. We think that the Windows Phone 7-version is every bit as explosive than its older counterpart!”

Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions DLC

The last time you played Spiderman Shattered Dimensions, were you irritated that Spiderman had so many forms? “Why can’t he just be one person?,” you would lament.  Well Activision and developer Beenox have listened to your outcry and released the Cosmic costume.  Through all four worlds- Amazing, Noir, 2099 and Ultimate- gamers will be able to play in one Cosmic costume that changes slightly for the different worlds, for a measly $3.  They can also now use one signature charge attack.  Get the DLC on Xbox today or get it on PS3 in a week.

Get the first episode of Back to the Future: The Game for free

3

A bit earlier today we reported that Telltale’s five part game series just went available for pre-order on their website today in anticipation for the game’s PC and Mac release this December. But what we didn’t know at that time is that you can get the very first episode of Back to the Future: The Game for free.  If you happen to type in the code 121GIGAWATTS you will be able to secure yourself the very first episode of the series when it is released.

Now using the code does require that you register at Telltale’s website but that takes nothing more than a few minutes. Now keep in mind that as the game has not yet been released, those who do enter the code will only be receiving a confirmation email. This means that in December you will be getting a bit of an early present from Telltale when one day you wake up with the first episode of Back to the Future in your inbox.

Reminder: Free DLC for Lara Croft Releases Tomorrow

About two months after its release, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will be receiving an online coop patch and free DLC.  Just remember that the DLC will only be free for 30 days so be sure to get it soon. ‘All the Trappings’ will feature a new area full of combat, puzzles and exploration.   The DLC and patch are getting their release on PS3 and PC soon.

“We’re delighted the Online Co-op is ready and going live – as a thank you to the patient Xbox gamers, and for a limited time only we will be giving away our first DLC pack for free. Download it, have a go and while you’re there try the online co-op mode, it’s great fun,” said Darrell Gallagher, General Manager of Crystal Dynamics.

Dragon Age 2 “Rise to Power” trailer tells us about Hawke

What do you do when you are nothing but a man driven from his home, on the run as a refugee from Darkspawn forces attempting to take over your world? Well you become a Champion of course. This Dragon Age 2 trailer explains just a bit about the changes that Hawke goes through over the course of the game.

Beyond telling us a little bit about who Hawke is, we also are treated to gameplay footage and even the rogue class players can choose. I don’t know about you but she looks to be one interesting fighter as opposed to the warrior or mage that players are used to.

Dragon Age II will be releasing on PC, PS3, and 360 on March 8th in the US and March 11 everywhere else. Catch the Rise to Power trailer below:

Live stream – Fable 3

I know Fable 3 is already out so who cares, but it doesn’t come out in Europe and Australia? until the end of the week so for those of you who can’t get it, aren’t sure if you want to get it or are just plain bored, watch the stream!  I also have the limited edition so you may get a chance to see the in game content that’s exclusive to this edition.  I’m currently eating and setting up some other stuff so the stream will actually start in a few minutes.  Catch ya in the chat.

New Demo For Majin & the Forsaken Kingdom Available October 27th!

After already generating a lot of buzz and already going gold in Europe, Namco-Bandai’s Majin & the Forsaken Kingdom is shaping up to be a heavy contender for this November’s already jam-packed release schedule. For those who can not wait until the release date of November 23rd (or the 25th for you in Europe), Namco-Bandai will be releasing a demo on the PSN and Xbox Live tomorrow on the 27th.

For those who haven’t been keeping up with Majin, players will take the role as Tepeu, a cunning individual who must rely on his agility to triumph over increasing obstacles. As far as brawn and brute strength goes, you will be teamed with an AI controlled monster who can assists in acquiring additional abilities that will provide access to previously obstructed areas.

In the demo, players will set out on the game’s very first level where the hero first encounters the Majin. Together they embark on their voyage through the beautiful, yet darkness-infected kingdom. The demo gives players a taste of the vast wealth of gameplay the full version possesses with vile enemies to overcome and conundrums to solve.

Action-Platformers seem to be popping up everywhere and this one seems to pack the punch with some beautiful graphics and what looks to be an engrossing story with some single player co-op themed puzzle solving and stealth to add depth to the gameplay. Check out the trailer below and be sure to friend Majin on the official facebook page here for even more updates.

Pac-Man Party Goes Gold!

Is reading that headline much of a surprise? The original gaming mascot’s new title, Pac-Man Party for the Nintendo Wii has already went gold. Packed with mini-games and random bits of nostalgia for Pac-Man fans, Pac-Man Party puts player’s skills to the test with games to test players skills and reflexes as they move about the unique virtual game boards.

With more than 50 exciting mini-games and eight characters to choose from including newcomers Woofa, Patra and Roger, players will be fully engaged using the Wii Remote’s motion and button control capabilities in various time-based trials. From dodging a cascade of blocks, to racing and sheep shearing challenges, there seems to be something for everyone in this new party-themed title.

There is three game modes in all for Pac-Man party as well. Story mode provides the opportunity to explore all the game board worlds and protect Mr. Cookie’s secret recipe. Mini-Game mode offers the satisfaction of the fun mini games with out the commitment of the standard board games and party-mode puts up to four players against each-other competing across different boards to collect the most points. Raising the stakes a bit more, property can be strategically developed on any given space which can increase wealth and provide the quickest route to victory. However unlike traditional board games, if someone lands on a spot that is already occupied, players will have to fight for ownership via challenges.

If party games are not your thing, Namco also seems to have you covered with some classic action as well since the game will feature the original arcade versions of PAC-MAN, Galaga and Dig-Dug. Pac-Man Party launches on the Wii November 16th in the US, the 25th in Australia and the 26th in the EU region. You can check out a gameplay trailer below and check back here for more updates about this hot new party title.

Back to the Future: The Game price and release info revealed

Telltale has given us an update about their upcoming Back to the Future game series. Back to the Future: The Game not only has an official release date, but the consoles we can expect to see the game on have been trimmed up a bit as well. The game will be making its way onto the PC and Mac in December of this year with releases later on for the PSN and the iPad.

The game itself, which includes all five episodes of the game, is available for pre-order now on Telltale’s official website for $24.95. If you happen to pre-order not only will you be set in for a copy of the game, but you will also be able to download Puzzle Agent immediately as your bonus. But what really catches my eye is the fact that Telltale is also donating a dollar of every pre-order to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Michael J. Fox who plays Marty Mcfly from the series suffers from Parkinson’s disease and created this foundation to fund research, so it is great to see Telltale supporting the cause with donations.
