Star Wars: The Old Republic trailer places the galaxy’s fate in your hands

Despite a few missteps in the past few years the best way to ensure that your game is going to sell like hotcakes is to put the Star Wars name in front of it, but then again if you build your game from the ground up and base it around the whole Star Wars galaxy then you may as well just take people’s wallets. Bioware and Lucasarts have done this for the past few years and are getting ready to release Star Wars: The Old Republic this year.

A new trailer was released out of PAX East today that shows just a little bit of what players will be in for when they create their character for the first time. From the looks of the trailer there will be plenty of references to favorite characters and plenty of action to be had between Jedi and Sith. Unfortunately they still have not announced a release date but fans of MMO’s and Star Wars should just leave some money on the side to pick this up when it comes out.

New CG Trailer Emerges for Okamiden;Available Early at Gamestop…

If you haven’t yet noticed, we are just a few days away from seeing the launch of Okamiden in the states. Of course with this launch also comes a new trailer from Capcom, but this clip is quite different than what we have seen before for the title as it is a CG trailer.

The clip shows the young Chibiterasu nudging at a Nintendo DS with Kuni bursting out and hopping on the pup, which is shortly followed by a few clips of the actual gameplay. It isn’t much, but it does make me want to get this title even more as the art style and gameplay looks to be sharp and fluid. What I have also noticed though is oddly enough, Gamestop seems to already have the game in stock and selling it live on their website, so for those who want the game now, feel free to grab it a few days early from the retailer via online or in store. The rest of you though can check out the trailer below and stay tuned as our own review will be coming shortly.

Battle: Los Angeles Now Available

It seems another week has come and with it another super secret XBLA release on friday. We covered the fact that Konami would be releasing a Battle: Los Angeles game to coincide with the movie, but no one expected it to literally coincide with the movie. Today the movie releases and the game does as well. For all of you who go watch the movie and just don’t get enough of an alien invasion, pick up the game and experience it for yourself.

Below I have included the Movie’s Trailar and the Game’s Trailer. Check them both out.

Killzone 3 patch 1.04 is out now

Those of you who have played the Killzone 3 open beta and are now playing the full game have probably noticed that there is no difference between the two, save for being able to play more than one map.  Up until now, Killzone 3 has still had every bug, glitch and error that was present in the beta.  It’s fairly obvious that Killzone 3 was rushed out the door before it was truly finished (which is a shame) but that’s corporate business for you.

Anyways, Killzone 3 developer Guerilla Games have finally gotten around to releasing the first patch to bring the game out of beta and into it’s more “complete” form.  Unfortunately, this patch doesn’t really change much in terms of gameplay aside from a few things, most notably the medics revive now has a range of 20 meters and has a much shorter cooldown.  Aside from that, most of the updates are mere glitch and error fixes.  There are still a wealth of problems that plague Killzone 3’s multiplayer, none of which are addressed in this patch.

One can’t help but wonder why the more important fixes like automatic team balancing or fixing a bug that allows you to only play one map didn’t get into this patch.  Hopefully a more helpful patch is soon to follow today’s update or else Killzone 3 stands to lose support from its fans.

10+ hours of Dynasty Warriors 7 gameplay

Dynasty Warriors 7 doesn’t release in the west until March 29th, but it released earlier this week in Japan.  Those eager to get a glimpse of the game need wonder no more, as a Japanese player has recorded over 10 hours of them playing and, to my knowledge, are streaming it right now.  To make it short, DW7 looks beautiful and the character re-interpretations and upgraded level of detail really shine.

And for those who just want to get to the good stuff, check out the second video which showcases the series badass, Lu Bu riding his trademark Red Hare (who has now transformed into a fiery steed).

Yoostar 2 launches today

It’s lights, camera, action as Yoostar 2 releases today on Xbox 360 Kinect and PS3. The party game allows you to put yourself in the movies by selecting the actor/actress you want to replace, then inserting you in their place. The dialogue is then displayed on the screen to give your own take on the lines, or you can read and record your own lines.

Other people will be the judge of how funny your performance is, and today the social network features were also detailed by Yoostar Entertainment Group. Yoostar Playground will work with Facebook and is a free, social game that anyone can play, letting Facebook fans rate, share and comment on videos of player performances. It encourages the entire community create Movie Mash-ups that can then be uploaded and rated. All activities earn players fame points, taking their in-game persona from a struggling actor/actress, to an A-list celebrity, and are rewarded with Badges for increased ranking or Yoobucks which can be used for “power-ups” or “boosts” in both Yoostar Playground and the game itself.

Will anyone be picking up Yoostar 2 today? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Crysis 2 – ‘Be Fast’ trailer

Another fast-paced, high-energy trailer has been released for Crysis, this time with even more focus on speed, hence the ‘Be Fast’ title. The trailer showcases a lot of gameplay where you are travelling so fast, the surrounding environment is slower, and by the looks of it the game will feature some nice slow-mo effects to go with this.

The video also shows more jumping from building to building, with the adventuring elements introduced into this FPS, as well as new abilities relating to the character’s superhuman speed, strength and agility. There’s even subtle hints towards the storyline amongst all the action.

Roll on 25th March when Crysis 2 will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

Gameplay revealed in Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon trailer

Everyone now has a chance to see Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon in action, thanks to this gampeplay reveal trailer just released for the game.

It’s in development at High Moon Studios, makers of the last Transformers game and it will feature an original prologue storyline leading up to the upcoming Michael Bay film. For those who didn’t play the original, it was surprisingly successful, securing decent sales and some critical acclaim, despite being a movie tie-in which usually aren’t up to scratch.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon is scheduled to launch on PS3 and Xbox 360, with Behaviour Interactive developing alternative versions on Nintendo Wii, DS and 3DS.
