Castlevania: Lords of Shadow “Resurrection” DLC arriving next week

If you’ve been waiting to get your hands on more Castlevania: Lords of Shadow content then you better get ready for next week. Konami revealed today that they will be bringing the final downloadable content package, named Resurrection, out next week on June 7th for the Xbox 360 and two weeks from now on June 14th for the PlayStation 3 for 800 MSP and $10 respectively.

Resurrection continues the story where the previously released Reverie DLC finished and this story will “lay bare the fate of both Gabreil and the Belmont Clan.” Gabriel will be fighting a demon called “the Forgotten one” who is quite huge apparently from this concept art seen to the right. Konami states that this will be the finale to the story and hopefully fans will be pleased.

Contra title teased in Konami’s pre-E3 presentation

Konami’s pre-E3 event has shown us many things so far but this is perhaps the most vague of them all. Konami has revealed that they are working on a new Contra title but they have given absolutely zero information about it. The only information that was shown was a firey C with the words “They’re Coming” underneath of it.

When they are coming, what they are coming to and how they are coming were not revealed and I’m sure that we will learn more about the title when E3 officially kicks off next week. Or more like we will hear more information about it whenever Konami feels like sharing with the rest of the world. But for now, watch out for flaming Cs.

Kojima Teases With New “Fox Engine”

Today at Konami’s E3 Pre-Show, Hideo Kojima, the master mind behind the Metal Gear franchise showed off their new engine dubbed, “Fox Engine”. This new tech went into development directly after completion of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and is designed for multi-platform use. In the video you were able to catch a small glimpse of the engine running with generic assets for some testing, but he did confirm that his secret project will make use of this engine in addition to the recently announced “Transfarring” system which will allow game save states to be transferred between the PS3 and PSP.

No release date or time frame was mentioned.

Silent Hill: Book of Memories announced for NGP

Besides the HD collection of Silent Hill, Konami announced that they have even more plants for the Silent Hill franchise. They revealed that they are working on a new title called Silent Hill: Book of Memories. The game is going to be set for release on Sony’s upcoming NGP (or maybe PS Vita if rumors are true). The title will be exclusive to Sony’s handheld title.

Unfortunately not much information was given about the game. No plot details have been given and it was said to be released “later on down the road” from when the Silent Hill Collection would be released. Meaning that at the moment, all fans can do is be assured that they are working on another Silent Hill title after Silent Hill: Downpour.

Konami announces Metal Gear Solid, Zone of Enders and Silent Hill HD remakes

During Konami’s pre-E3 press showing, they announced that they will be bringing three of their older titles back to the public in new HD fashion. First off they are going to be making the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection which will contain Metal Gear solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. This HD Collection will be available on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with PlayStation 3 users able to transfer their save data for Peace Walker from their PSP to their PS3. Metal Gear fans can expect this collection to be available November 2011.

Also, much to Konami’s fans glee, they will be releasing a Zone of Enders HD Collection. This collection will contain both Zone of Enders and Zone of Enders 2. The title will be available on both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 and will be released in 2012, unfortunately not much more was mentioned on the title but thankfully they are realizing that Zone of Enders is still valuable franchise.

Announced but not very elaborated upon was Silent Hill HD Collection. First off the title will only contain Silent Hill 2 and 3 with HD touch ups. Beyond that however they did not give a year of release, nor did they mention which consoles it would be for.

E3 2011: Konami Shows us MGS: Snaker Eater 3D for 3DS

Today Konami had their Pre-E3 2011 show and showed off a trailer for Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D for the Nintendo 3DS. MGS: SE 3D is a remake of Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater for PS2 and Xbox and is largely considered the best in the series.

The 3DS version will feature camouflage that you can create yourself by taking photos with the 3DS and mapping it to Snake. Also new is the ability to control Snake while balancing via the gyroscope.

The Darkness II lets darkness reign in first gameplay trailer

The Darkness was never a great friend to Jackie Estacado in the first Darkness title and it seems the creature definitely won’t help him this time around either. Also it seems that somebody beleives Jackie isn’t the right man for the Darkness to be possessing anyways. All of this was revealed today after 2K games released a gameplay trailer of the title which shows what the Darkness does best, kill people and eat their hearts.

Digital Extremes and 2K Games will be showing off more of the title when E3 kicks off next week. We can consider this little trailer an appetizer of things to come. A bloody, dark, and a bit frightening appetizer. Catch the trailer below.

Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team announced as twin stick shooter

Warhammer 40K: Kill Team has been officially confirmed by THQ today. They have announced that Warhammer 40K: Kill Team will be available sometime in July and will be a tie-in to the full retail game; Warhammer 40K: Space Marine. Kill Team is being developed by THQ’s Digital Studios UK which also handled the creation of Red Faction: Battlegrounds which further enforces the game tie-in as Battlegrounds was a tie-in to Red Faction: Armageddon.

Players will be able to select their space marine chapter and choose from four different classes; the Sternguard Veteran, Tech Marine, Vanguard Veteran and Librarian. The game will be a twin stick shooter and will feature two-player co-op. If you are able to beat the game you will also unlock the “Power Sword” for Space Marine when that releases on September 6th. Catch the game trailer for Kill Team below.

The Witcher 2 confirmed for Xbox 360

No more pretenses and guessing needed, The Witcher 2 will be available on the Xbox 360 by the end of 2011. CD Projekt Red held their Summer Days presentation in Los Angeles today and they announced that they will be bringing their latest hit title to consoles by the end of 2011. This confirms many people’s beliefs that there would be an announcement of some sort for a 360 version of the title, especially after the ESRB rated the game for console release.

CD Projekt Red also went on to say that the Xbox 360 version will have all of the PC updates that will be available when the game releases and a teaser video has been released which you can see below. They have yet to show off any gameplay however, but their representative says that The Witcher 2 on the Xbox 360 will be more of an adaptation on par with the PC version than a port. Interesting stuff that we’ll know more about at E3 when they reveal gameplay for the first time.
