Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi releases on October 28th in Europe

Over the past few months Namco Bandai has been beating around the bush with their next Dragon Ball title. Currently they are only calling the game Dragon Ball Game Project Age 2011 but that is all about to change thanks to Namco Bandai Games Europe. The game will now be titled Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi and it will be developed by Spike.

In the latest trailer for the game, which unveiled the game’s full name, we see destructible battlefields and perhaps some of the best looking Dragon Ball Z combat ever to date. Also at the end of the trailer we are treated to a release date which places Ultimate Tenkaichi up for release on October 28th for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in Europe. Whether or not a North American release will fall within this date or near it has yet to be announced.

Resident Evil: Revival trailer shows RE4 and Veronica in HD

Capcom of Japan released a new trailer today for the Resident Evil: Revival Selection and this time around it shows side by side comparisons of the Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica titles. Looking back on the enhancements over the years in graphics can truly be surprising at times, though the HD upgrade doesn’t seem to have done too much to the original experience.

The games will be released in North America as individual digital downloads while those in Japan will actually be able to buy a retail version of the game. No pricing has been announced yet for the games, nor if one will cost more than the other when they are released. Catch the video below and make your own comparisons of the upgrade.

PSP Engine revealed by Sony

Despite the age of the PSP, Sony has unveiled a new engine designed specifically for the PSP. The engine itself, imaginatively titled the PSP Engine is a sort of middleware technology that makes it better to bring games from the PlayStation Portable to the PlayStation 3. The main reason given for this engine was the PSP Remaster series that was announced in the past.

Famitsu reports that the PSP Engine makes significant improvements to the HD porting ability of the handheld. This includes higher resolution, wireless controller support for the DualShock 3, steroscopic 3D output, and shared save data. The only game currently announced under the PSP Remaster series is Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, though anyone paying attention to Sony’s E3 conference should remember that Sony also announced a God of War Origins collection.

The Witcher 2 will be published by THQ in various international locations

When The Witcher 2 was announced to see a release on the Xbox 360 many people, myself included, cheered with joy that they would be able to play the title despite having subpar computers. Now though the title will be published by Atari in North America, the rest of the world was sitting in the dark as to whether or not the game would be published in their region.

Well THQ stepped in today to shine some light on that darkness. The company announced that they will be handling the publishing the The Witcher 2 on the Xbox 360 for Australia, New Zealand, Western Europe and even the Middle East. This means that no matter where you live you have no excuse to not be able to play The Witcher 2 when it is released in the future. Unless you don’t have an Xbox 360 of course.

Dead Rising 2: Off the Record releases Oct. 11th in NA, Oct. 14th in Europe

Despite the fact that the news hasn’t been officially announced by Capcom, it seems somebody dropped the ball a little early. Even during E3 Capcom was tight lipped about an exact release date for the Dead Rising 2 spinoff. But it seems that somebody made a little bit of a mistake because the European Blog for Capcom ended up posting up the release dates.

The blog post detailed the game’s release dates as October 11th in North America and October 14th in Europe. The post itself has since been removed and Capcom has failed to comment on the leaked information despite our attempt to contact them. The possibility of these release dates being factual is still left in question, but considering this was off of one of Capcom’s own websites there is a good chance that they are.

Kenshi Character Vignette Released For Mortal Kombat DLC

Kenshi, the blind Japanese swordsman from Mortal Kombat:Deadly Alliance was announced recently as a DLC, making him the first character from a home console-exclusive Mortal Kombat game to appear  as a playable character in the latest MK. A gameplay video of the character was released late last week, and today his character vignette has been released as a preview of his story. His storyline is basically the same as it was in MK:DA, with Shang Tsung appearing as an old man named Song, offering Kenshi a legendary sword if he claimed it himself. However, claiming the sword released many ancient warrior souls which Shang Tsung consumed increasing his power, who then blinded Kenshi and left him to die. The mystical sword ended up guiding Kenshi to safety, who recovered and voweled revenge on Shang Tsung. His blindness made him handicapped, but he trained to use it to has advantage and heightened his senses and learnt telekinesis, now vowing revenge on Shang Tsung.

The downloadable blind swordsman will be available on Tuesday 5th July for Xbox LIVE and Wednesday 6th July on PSN and will join the first downloadable kombatant, Skarlet who is currently available for download as well.
