Bethesda Forums Hacked; All Passwords Reset

And Lightning Strikes twice. After having their main website hacked back in June, Bethesda have now sent out a new email to all forum users, informing of a security breach. No guilty parties were mentioned this time around, and as of now it doesn’t seem that many out there are confessing either.

The full email from Bethesda reads:

Dear Bethesda Forum User,

We have identified a potential breach of our forum user database that occurred Friday morning, Aug 12. We have reset your forum password as a precaution, in the event that any encrypted forum user passwords were compromised.

When you next try to login to the forums, your old password will not work. Click the “I’ve forgotten my password link” underneath the login boxes, and follow the steps to setup a new password for your account.

We recommend you do not use your old password or a password you have used for other sites. Further, if your old forum password was used for any other online purposes, we recommend changing the password on those accounts as well.

As bad as this sounds, it is at least comforting to know that Bethesda seem to be on top of things and have already reset the entire community’s passwords. I do hope that this is just a precautionary measure though and no true damage was done, as the last thing that we need is yet another hacking spree in the gaming industry.

Kojima Teases Trophies for Metal Gear Solid HD Collection…

If one man in the videogame industry knows how to tease gamers, it’s Hideo Kojima. Recently, Kojima posted the image you see above on his twitter stream, with this message concerning the release of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection.

“MGS HD series. These are the trophy(result) icons for MGS2 and MGS3!”

So as the tweet states, this is in fact the first glimpse into the trophies that Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will offer. I would imagine that these icons would also be used for the Xbox 360 achievements for the collection as well, but Kojima didn’t quite elaborate on that. For all of you MGS vetrans out there, can you tell what feats any of these images might pertain to in either game?

Guilty Crown to get PC Game Adaptation

Guilty Crown is set to make it’s debut in this upcoming Fall 2011 anime season. Ahead of it’s premiere it has been announced that a PC game adaptation of the series is already in the works.

The series which is being produced by Production I.G. is a post apocalyptic series in which teenage survivors discover that they have supernatural powers. With these new found powers they set out to take down a mysterious organisation that has taken over the world post apocalypse.

The PC game adaptation is going to be handled by Nitroplus and will feature an original story set within the same world as the anime series. No other details have been revealed thus far.

Red Dead Game of the Year Edition listed

Red Dead Redemption has had quite a few DLC packs released since it came out. At least one more piece of DLC is also scheduled to come out soon. According to a BBFC listing (since pulled down), Rockstar is planning to re-release the game. A “Game of the Year” edition is listed for September 16. So far, only the Undead Nightmare pack is confirmed to be a part of the GOTY game, but hopefully every piece of the downloadable will be included. With any luck, Legends and Killers, Liars and Cheats, and Hunting and Trading will all be included into a $40 package like many other GOTY editions that have been released.

Yu Yu Hakusho Season 3 Blu-Ray Trailer

Funimation over this past year has been releasing their remastered version of anime classic Yu Yu Hakusho onto the Blu-Ray format. They are set to continue that trend with Yu Yu Hakusho Season 3 Collection for Blu-Ray, which is to be released on the 27th of September, 2011.

In anticipation of the upcoming Blu-Ray release, Funimation have posted a trailer for it through their Youtube channel. The upcoming third season collection will feature the conclusion to the Dark Tournament arc and begin the Chapter Black arc.

Final Tiger and Bunny Episode to screen live in Japanese Cinemas

With the enormous popularity of the smash-hit anime series Tiger and Bunny, it is little surprise that Tiger and Bunny will be going out with a bang when the credits of the final episode rolls.

Sunrise have announced that various movie theaters across Japan will be screening the final episode of the anime live as it airs on television. Along side the theater screening of the episode will be other events held throughout the night. However the details of said events have yet to come to light. However as details are released they will be posted to the anime’s official website.

Tiger and Bunny is currently up to its 20th episode. With the series so far having had a total of 23 episodes scheduled it seems that the 23rd episode will be it’s last and in fact will be the episode screened throughout Japanese cinemas. Coicent and Five Numbers licensed by Sentai Filmworks

Sentai Filmworks have announced that they have aqcuired the license for two sci-fi mini features – Coicent and Five Numbers. Both of which are produced by Sunrise in Japan.

Coicent and Five Numbers were released in a package together in Japan and it is likely that Sentai will be giving the sci-fi mini features the same treatment when they bring it to Western shores.

Both Coicent and Five Numbers do not have an official release date other than the vague “later this year”. However it has been confirmed that they will be released with an English dub and of course an original Japanese audio track  on DVD and Blu-ray Disc.

Sentai have also posted synopsis of both features through a press release.

Coicent:

First, it’s a quick time jump to the 26th century where a school trip to a rebuilt 21st century city turns into a wild adventure for teenage Shinichi. While chasing a talking deer that steals his bag, he runs into a strange girl trying to elude even stranger pursuers, and then things get wild. It’s a mad dash through a city of the past as two young people discover a chance at a new future in COICENT.

Five Numbers:

Four people awake to find themselves in the ultimate prison: an ex-soldier, a beautiful woman, an average Joe and a young computer hacker. Why are they there? What connection links them together? And how can they escape? The answer seems to lie with the fifth prisoner, an old man who knows far more than he is telling. And then there’s the cat. It’s the ultimate locked room mystery and all their lives hinge on solving it in FIVE NUMBERS.

Ubisoft Confirm Move Support for PS3 version of Child of Eden…

Ubisoft have now confirmed that the PS3 version of Child of Eden will feature Move Support. Shocked? Neither were we. While this feature was pretty much a given since Tetsuya Mizuguchi’s visual masterpiece was announced for the Playstation 3, it is still nice to know that owners of the console will have that option to dive in with motion controls, much like the Kinect version of the game. Even more interesting with this announcement is the inclusion of “Full Stereoscopic 3D”, which should make the gameplay even more immersive than it’s Xbox 360 counterpart.

Ubisoft have also released a few details for the PS3 release of Child of Eden, which elaborate a bit more about how the Move controllers will work into the gameplay and how the 3D will actually make a difference:

    New Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster trailer is Delightful…

    Since E3, we haven’t heard too much about Double Fine’s upcoming Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster, which will feature full Kinect support. A new trailer has now been revealed that shows exactly how the game will work, with a new scripted family coming together to play with Elmo and the Cookie Monster.

    Poor actors aside, if the motions that these kids in the trailer are actually read by the device, I can easily say that this may be a pretty decent romp for the younger gamers out there. Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster doesn’t launch until later this fall, but you can check out the proud family and their Sesame Street fun in the trailer below.

    One Piece Gigant Battle 2: New World Screenshots

    Two screenshots of the hotly anticipated One Piece Gigant Battle 2: New World game have surfaced. The title set for release on November 17th, 2011, is set to feature over 100 characters from the series as well as several locales including Marineford and Gray Terminal. It is the sequel of the first Gigant Battle game and will focus on the Post War arc and the New World Saga.

    The One Piece franchise is without a doubt the undisputed top anime franchise of all time, having made more money than any other. So it’s pretty much a given to say that One Piece Gigant Battle 2: New World is going to be a huge hit. Leave a comment below letting us know what you think.
