There isn’t a Shadow Complex sequel – Why not?

"Do we make a sequel, or go with iOS? Hmmm?

Epic Games president Mike Capps, at GDC in Europe today, offered his views on why the sequel to Shadow Complex has not been made yet:

“The reviews were great, it was a record seller for a single-player game on the platform, but at the same time we’ve got this mobile gaming push that’s coming in strong.

“And the big thing for me was that we were looking what the iPhone could do, and the games that were on iPhone, and we thought there was a huge gap, so we put our engine team on the problem, and that’s where we came up with Infinity Blade,” Capps said. “We were thinking about the sequel [to Shadow Complex], we were ready and ‘Maybe we should start working on this,’ and instead stopped everything and went and made Infinity Blade.”

However, when later pressed on the issue by Joystiq, he said to “Never say never.” In addition, the head of Chair, the developers behind Shadown Complex, have said “it is a question of when, not if.” Lets hope that “when” comes soon.

Cheaper than a dollar movies and TV rentals on PSN

For $0.99, one can buy many things. Like a bag of M&Ms or a Redbox movie rental. Even some cheeseburgers are under a dollar. Sony would like you spend that $0.99 on their Store though. And so now, every Tuesday, some movies and TV rentals will cost only a buck… for SD versions anyway. HD ratchets the cost up to $1.99. This week, the selections are:

Sicko
The Longshots
Salvage
Tony
Shank
Bonded By Blood
JFK: Reckless Youth (Part 1)
JFK: Reckless Youth (Part 2)
Deadly Blessing (Directed by Wes Craven)
Carver
Devil in the Flesh 2 (aka Teacher’s Pet 2)
Illuminating Angels & Demons

I think most of us can safely say that our Credit Cards will not have a charge on them from Sony for $.99 or $1.99.

No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise available now in North America!

Yes, you read that right. No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise is now available in stores in North America. Despite getting the game last in the world, now we can enjoy the newly enhanced No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise with either their PlayStation Move or a normal controller if they so wish. Of course the title is exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and will costly only $39.99 so it is cheaper than ever to check out.

In No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise will follow the journey of Travis Touchdown as he battles the world’s deadliest assassins with his Beam Katana sword to rise through the ranks and become the ultimate killer in the whole world. As mentioned before, gamers can use either the PlayStation Move to use the system’s motion tracking ability to perform a wide range of attacks and special moves. Though you can play the game with a normal controller, nothing says fun like having to jerk your Move wand up and down to charge your sword’s battery right?

Besides the standard content that was in the game before when it was released on the Wii, No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise will contain the Rebout mode which will let the player challenge old enemies again and even be able to fight new enemies never before seen in the original game. Plus players can download the “Viewer Mode” DLC which will allow the player to re-watch past cut scenes in new HD graphics. What more could you want?

Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes DLC incoming

Ubisoft’s puzzle/strategy/RPG game, Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes has been on our favorite games of the year. And now, we have just learned that there will be DLC for the game. Coming to the XBLA, PSN and PC, the DLC will be named “I Am the Boss.”

While playing through the DLC, your character will be one of the four bosses. For example, you can pick Azexes, Count Carlyle, Ludmilla or Azh-Rafir to play in Quick Battle modes or multiplayer.

The main game on PC now has a release date of September 22 and people who preorder the game from the Ubishop for the PC will receive the DLC for free. Prices and release dates for the other versions of the DLC have not yet been confirmed.

Anarchy Reigns Multiplayer combat modes detailed in latest trailer

Anarchy Reigns has more to it than a whole ton of interesting characters. Well, actually it has a literal ton of those, but it also has some multiplayer combat as evidenced in the latest trailer released by Sega and Platinum Games. In this video we are shown the deathmatch mode where four players are able to fight against one another in a huge free for all battle.

With the multiple over the top moves each character has, this combat can easily be seen as some of the most fun 3rd person online brawling you can have, especially when the game advertises approaching and attacking from behind. There is more than just deathmatch however, there is also a survival mode where you must survive with your friends against waves of enemies and some mode that looks like it involves soccer of some kind. Catch the video below and Anarchy Reigns sometime in 2012!

Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon arrives on PSN and XBLA on August 31st

It’s been awhile since we’ve heard about Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon. So far in fact that it may had slipped the minds of many gamers that it even was in development. But you better kick your brain back into your head because Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon has just gotten a price as well as a release date. 345 Games and Comedy Central revealed that the game will be available on August 30th for PSN users and August 31st on the XBLA for $9.99 or 800 MSP respectively.

The title will have all the original voice actors from the show and the story is a script penned by the original writer Devin Clark so you know that this will be a quality Ugly Americans title. Dan Yang, general maanger of 345 Games says that they have worked hard to make Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon a “combination of addicting gameplay and the comedic sensibilities.” The title will feature twin stick shooter gameplay and allow up to four players to play at one time.

Star Wars Kinect gets some fresh screenshots

Despite a rather week showing at E3, Star Wars Kinect may just be a title that should be given a second look. Earlier today Microsoft and Lucas Arts revealed some new screenshots for the title which actually make the title look quite tolerable, if I day say enjoyable to play.

Of course there is still the worry that the title may end up being a Star Wars game that is more or less on rails, but hopefully that won’t be the case. In these screenshots we see some Jedi vs Droid combat, a rampaging rancor and even some pod racing. Check out the screenshots below and remember this game is only for the Kinect owning Xbox 360 owners.
