For all those who haven’t heard, SMASH! has pushed back the date of their Picnic! I Am Alive teaser trailer leak discovered

I Am Alive is a game that has been unfortunately named what it is. The reason I say it is unfortunate is because Ubisoft announced the game back in 2008 and since then there has been practically zero updates about the title, despite Ubisoft recently claiming that the game wasn’t actually canceled.

Despite all of this however, a person known as supererogatory stumbled upon a never before seen trailer that not only shows gameplay footage but it also shows a number of mechanics and an interesting voice over. You can catch the video below, though the actual trailer itself starts 30 seconds in. We have contacted Ubisoft to see if they have any statement on this video, or the status of I Am Alive itself.

Gamestop testing game streaming console?

According to various reports, the gaming retail giant Game Stop is looking to cash in on video game streaming. With digital sales on the rise, this is no surprise. Game Stop even purchased Spawn Labs, who brought their own game streaming console to the market in 2009.

GameStop will reportedly use this service to stream 360, PS3 and, presumably, PC games to their customers who have the GameStop PowerUp Rewards card. Demos of various games will also be included as part of the console. Pricing and other details have not been revealed, but new details will emerge early next year says GamesInudstry.biz, and the service could launch as soon as next summer.

Gears of War 3 gets golden, cuts some cake

Seems like video game developers really like celebrating their successes with cake. Just a few weeks ago Atlus made a Catherine cake for selling the most units ever in their history. Destructoid has some pictures showing the Epic Games’ crew cutting some Gears of War cake to celebrate the fact that Gears of War 3 on the Xbox 360 has gone golden.

What this means for you is that there won’t be any delays or problems from here until September 20th when the game hits store shelves and is bought up by all the Gears fans like MasterAbbott. The cake that they are cutting looks like a Gears of War Xbox 360 slim, though perhaps it is a bit deformed looking. Better yet, they cut the cake with a golden retro lancer. Talk about class. Now time to sit back and watch as everyone else tries to make similar cakes and celebrate in the same fashion.

Dead Space hitting Xperia Play and RIM’s Playbook

Electronic Arts has always endeavored to port their most successful games to every platform imaginable. And now they are doing the same with the Dead Space franchise. Of course, when a game is actually enjoyable on a mobile platform, thats a good thing. Luckily, Dead Space is a good mobile game, albeit far from the likes of its console brethren.

Regardless, Dead Space is now available on the Playbook tablet and the Xperia Play Android phone. Other Android phones are also expected to get the game soon. Dead Space has already premiered on iOS, so if you have that brand, you can also get in on the horror.

The Playbook version of Dead Space is priced at $9.99. Similar pricing is assumed for the Android versions, although this is unconfirmed.

Incubus coming to Rock Band 3

Rock Band keeps slowly growing its collection of music playable with plastic instruments. Next week, Harmonix will release 3 Incubus tracks for the rock simulation game. On August 23rd, get ready to enjoy all of tracks named below on either your Xbox 360, PS3 or Nintendo Wii.

The Incubus Pack 01 includes all tracks for 440 Microsoft Points, 550 Wii Points or $5.49. You can also buy each track separately.

“Adolescents” priced at 160 Microsoft Points, 200 Wii Points or $1.99.
“Pardon Me” priced at 160 Microsoft Points, 200 Wii Points or $1.99 – A seperate Pro Guitar/Bass DLC pack can also be had for an extra $1.
“Wish You Were Here” priced at 160 Microsoft Points, 200 Wii Points or $1.99.

Senran Kagura’s full opening animation released

Despite the fact that Senran Kagura: Portrait of the Girls may never actually see the light of day in the West, you can now watch the game’s whole opening animation. Marvelous, the developer of the game, released the opening which you can catch below. Beware however, maybe you should take a look around you before watching.

Senran Kagura: Portrait of the Girls is about more than the bouncing and torn clothing however, though the game’s opening animation doesn’t do much to sway that opinion, what with pulling scrolls out from between their chests and all. In fact it will actually be focused around hack and slash gameplay. Either way, Senran Kagura will be released in Japan on September 22nd, though with the 3DS’ region lock you’ll need a Japanese 3DS to play any import. Or of course, pray that someone decides to localize it for Western release because we need more 3DS games… yes that’s it.

Play ‘Hutball Warzone’ in the Old Republic

Sometimes even Star Wars fanatics get a little tired of playing Sith vs Jedi and good vs evil. It may sound sacrilegious, but it is the truth! With that in mind, Bioware has created “Hutball,” which is a warzone game type similar to Grifball, except with lightsabers, lightning and dangerous environments. This gametype will be intense for even the most hardened Sith Lords, make believe and virtual.

Like nearly every trailer we post on the site, this one is also awesome! Showing off the gameplay, rules and other details of “Hutball,” this trailer is all you’ll need to jump straight into the PvP action when The Old Republic launches.

Housemargue bringing new game to iOS

The devs behind Dead Nation, Outland and Super Stardust HD have decided, in a slightly strange decision (there games have been highly successful on consoles), to bring their next game to the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Releasing in the Autumn of 2011, Furmins will feature odd, furry, hamster-looking animals in a physics puzzle game. Check out the 30+ second teaser video below for slightly more information.

It will be interesting to see how this game does for the famed dev, and whether they will continue to support home consoles, or branch further into the money maker of the future: mobile phone gaming. Who would have thunk it 5-10 years ago: cell phones vying against current-gen HD powerhouses.

Saints Row The Third’s Smooth Criminal Edition outed by EB Games Australia

Occasionally you hear about a special edition of a game that is being offered overseas, but not in your own country. Then you contemplate just how expensive it would be to get that special edition delivered to your door overseas. Such is the case regarding the recently revealed Smooth Criminal Edition of Saints Row The Third.

EB Games Australia posted up a detailed listing for this package, claiming they have it exclusively and will be selling it for your standard overpriced $128.00 Australian. The package comes with your relatively standard bonuses, such as a soundtrack and a fancy unique packaging. But how about getting a pair of sunglasses, bullet-shaped ice cube trays and literal Saints Crest cuff links that are silver plated. This collector’s edition has everything and more. Lets hope it will be released in North America with this Smooth Criminal Edition, because if not then I’m going to have to pay a ton in shipping.
