Lego Stop-Motion Mecha Anime Opening Themes

Amazing Lego Artist, Bowkenken, has recreated several popular Mecha anime series opening theme songs – in Lego Stop-Motion. He recreates some amazing sequences, such as the opening for Getter Robo, Gundam Victory and my personal favourite Eureka Seven.

Bowkenken has a website in which he explains how to create Lego version Mecha and how he made the opening theme recreations. You check out his website here and several of his other videos here.

Also check below for what is without a doubt my favourite of his videos – side by side with the anime version – Eureka Seven’s opening theme. Please leave a comment below letting us know what you think.

The year is 1962, and weird things are happening. It is your duty to find out what is going on and to put a stop to it. Luckily, you have access to some alien weapons to help you out on your journey. That is the premise of XCOM, the upcoming game from 2K.

Although this video demo was originally shown off at E3, it has just been declassified and made available for public viewing. With commentary from the developers, this demo shows off a lot of the features, gamplay and other things you’ll come across in XCOM. The game is scheduled for a March 6, 2012 release date. Are you ready to investigate and survive the 60s?

Modern Warfare 3 to utilise Valves Steamworks

Following in the footsteps of many other massive titles such as Skyrim and Deus Ex, Valve has announced that Activisions upcoming title Modern Warfare 3 will incorporate Steamworks integration on PC. Already able to enjoy games in higher resolution graphics, PC players will also now enjoy specific features such as auto-updates and Steam achievements. Activision have also confirmed that at lauch the game will be provided with dedicated servers.

With all the boxing style words of love lately between Activision and EA, its no surprise that EA are not even considering using Valves Steam platform for Battlefield 3. Citing Valves terms and conditions as the reason behind the move, retail buyers of the title will have to use EA’s own origin platform.

Commander Shepard will ‘leave’ after Mass Effect 3

Although the Mass Effect franchise will continue after Mass Effect 3, the person known as Commander Shepard will no longer be playable in games afterward, according to an interview with Bioware from PC Gamer:

“After this, Commander Shepard’s story is complete,” said BioWare’s Dr. Ray Muzyka, after confirming that yes, the Mass Effect series will definitely continue after his story is done.

How do you feel about this transistion? Are you ready to break away from this character or would you still like to see him around?

Grandma wants to shoot #%*@ing zombies

Wow, sassy grammies have become a little bit of a thing in movies and TV shows, but Sega takes it to a whole new level in this trailer for Rise of Nightmares. With plenty of bleeped out curse words, straight marketing talk, and teasing of the casual motion control genre, this game certainly looks like it will be a great hardcore title on Microsoft’s Kinect. After all, who would POSSIBLY choose dancing over zombie slaying. You would have to find a crazy person, because if Grandma can do it, you can do it. Will you and your granny be chilling with this game?

Kanye West & Dropkick Murphy to perform at Call of Duty XP

On opening night at Call of Duty XP, on September 2, Dropkick Murphys will be performing for the benefit of the attendees. “Known for their complex distillation of classic punk rock, Celtic folk and American rock ‘n’ roll” Dropkick Murphy is ready to kill it at the event.

“With an unbeatable lineup of real-world and in-game experiences, Call of Duty XP was already poised to be an historic event for fans of the franchise,” said Eric Hirshberg, Chief Executive Officer of Activision Publishing. “The addition of Dropkick Murphys just makes XP that much more memorable. Few bands fit the bill better—we’re thrilled to have them performing on opening day.”

In addition, Kanye West will be closing the event on September 3. This is his first performance since his last album.

“We’re pulling out all the stops,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing. “We promised our attendees and fans around the world a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the first Call of Duty XP, so we’re thrilled to have Kanye on board. Everything about XP will be as epic as the games themselves. Whether you’re competing for one of the open slots in the $1 million tournament, playing Modern Warfare 3 for the first time, dodging paintballs in a spectacular life-size recreation of Modern Warfare 2’s Scrapyard level or just mingling with developers and fellow gamers, Call of Duty XP is a celebration of one of the greatest games in the world. So what better way to top it off with one of the greatest artists in the world?”

Final ‘Behind the Bullets’ trailer for Bodycount

With “explosive” gameplay and interviews from the developers, the latest trailer for Bodycount is the last one to release before the game launches on September 1st for Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3.

“What we’ve achieved with Bodycount, is bringing that shreddable, violent, explosive experience directly into multiplayer,” says, Andrew Parsons, Experienced Level Designer.

“Watching walls slowly get shredded apart and explosives take out whole sides of buildings really makes you think about how you approach these levels” adds Rob Mackenzie, Senior Designer “and it really forces team tactics.”

Codemasters will hopefully nail this shooter to the wall in terms of quality, as we are really looking forward to playing it.

The Secret World – A video

0

The hidden worlds of conspiracy theories are at work in the next game from Funcom and EA. At last, the forces of evil and good have risen, both of them having been shrouded in secrecy for millennia, but now forced to fight their epic battles in the open. And guess what? You get to help them. How nice!

Choose your faction, unite with the others, fight, and then turn your back on your comrades and conquer the world in: THE SECRET WORLD.

In all seriousness though, the action and the story look like they have a lot of promise, and it will certainly be interesting to finally uncover the secrets that governments, powerful people and aliens have hidden from us for so long. The Secret World launches on the PC in the Spring of 2012, just a few months before, of course, the end of the world.

NBA Jam: On Fire – Producer video

Electronic Arts is releasing NBA JAM: On Fire in October 2011 for the Playstation 3 via PSN and the Xbox Live Marketplace. These digitally distributed games “will feature exciting new gameplay enhancements, including ground-breaking artificial intelligence that will change the way gamers play NBA JAM.” For now though, all you have to look at it is the new video and quite a few new screenshots that EA has released.

We are looking forward to playing this arcade game soon. How about you? Unfortunately, you’ll have to shell out $15.00 or 1200 Microsoft Points for the experience, but it may be worth it. After all, how often do you get the chance to play a basketball game with FIRE IN IT?!
