The Glowing Void 2 bounces into iTunes

My favourite free app site Daily App Dream have published Assyria Game Studio’s sequel to their game The Glowing Void. The Glowing Void 2 isn’t just an update, it’s a brand new game with a new look, more content, more fun, more challenges, and is available in beautiful HD.

The concept of The Glowing Void 2 is to fill the glowing void with your circles while avoiding the dangerous bouncing red dots, and finishing each level by filling most of the void. Now, there is a dirty joke somewhere in there, but I’m a classy lady so I’ll let you guys figure it out for yourselves. (But not too classy, so if you come up with a good one, leave a comment below so we can all snicker to ourselves!)

As well as the improved graphics there is also iCloud Support, OpenFeint integration, full Retina display support, and rotating GUIs to allow for gaming in any orientation. There are also a few different modes including Classic where you fill up 70% of your screen, Survival where you keep going as long as possible, and three in app purchase modes, Gamer and Dodger. Gamer mode has power-ups that you can pick up, Dodger mode involves achieving your highest score by surviving as long as possible by dragging around a pre-made void with your finger, and Speed mode where you must do your job as quickly as possible while being able to take 3 hits.

The Glowing Void 2 is now available for $0.99 – get it HERE

Ragnarok Odyssey Coming In February

In what would be another edition to the thriving hunter, Ragnarok Odyssey, a game based on the popular MMORPG, will see a release on February 2 in Japan for the Playstation Vita. It will be developed by Gravity, the developers behind the MMORPG, with the game published by GungHo Online Entertainment, who are the parent company of Gravity. It joins other offline versions of the game released for the Nintendo DS and Playstation Portable.

In the game, there will be six classes available: sword warrior, hunter, hammersmith, assassin, mage and cleric. It will join the likes of Lord of Apocalypse as one of Vita’s hunter games that will flood the system over its life time. Ad-hoc multiplayer will also be available for the game, so make sure you enjoy the fights with your friends.

Supermarket Management goes Kindle

G5 Entertainment have announced the release of the addictive time management game Supermarket Management on the Amazon Appstore. Supermarket Management has already reached strong popularity on PC, Mac and mobile platforms, so G5 Entertainment is covering the final frontier, Kindle Fire.

You play as Kate, a new college graduate, who is given the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the supermarket business, managing and growing four supermarkets, upgrading staffing, shelving and more. Go around stocking shelves, pushing carts, and weighing produce while making sure that all your customers go home happy with a full cart and a smile.

There are 49 levels, tons of mini-games, and lots of opportunities for upgrades. So there’s only one question left, Kindle Fire owners, can you take the heat of supermarket ownership?

The game is available now for $4.99 – grab it HERE

How The Japanese Promote The Vita

0

With the Playstation Vita just less than a mere month away, Sony in Japan have started the television ad campagin. The ad, recently released on television, shows a young man on a bike, with fast cuts to various observations made by the man of the bike. The Playstation Vita logo flashes for a brief moment. It ends with the text (of course, in Japanese), which, in English, is “The future of games will change.” Then the logo is shown behind a white background.

Now, in advertising, the team must create an ad which portrays their product and tell us why we want it. If I had not followed any Vita news and didn’t know what the Vita is, that ad would have not helped me on my quest. It might have pipped my curiosity, however. I would hoped that the Vita would have made an appearance in the ad so that there was an indication of what the product is. However, the Playstation name might direct the potential consumer to the conclusion that it has something to do with video games.

If you want to check out the ad itself, then check it out below.

Simon Pegg talks Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol

What does the Mission Impossible franchise need? How about a little Simon Pegg?

The bloke from the UK will make an appearance as the Mission’s IT guy, cracking codes, hacking security, and making use of a whole host of fake appendages. We’ve got the Simon Pegg featurette here, with Mr Pegg going into just what it takes to join the Mission Impossible franchise as the funny, wise-cracking tech specialist to Tom Cruise’s veteran spy.

Check out the featurette below, Simon Pegg might be the kick in the pants that the franchise needs to get really going. Speaking as someone who has only seen the first two, this is definitely enough to get me interested in seeing the new movie.

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol is coming to cinemas December 15.

EA Sports Sign Lionel Messi for FIFA Series

EA Sports have announced that they have signed former Pro Evolution Soccer cover star Lionel Messi to a multi-year contract. This means Messi will now be the face of the FIFA franchise, starting out with the release of FIFA Street in the first half of 2012.

“I want to be part of the team behind the best sports football game in the world and be associated with the great EA SPORTS name,” said Messi. “EA SPORTS is a brand that shares my values of creativity, excellence and social responsibility.”

Eyebrows were raised earlier this year when it was announced that Cristiano Ronaldo would take Lionel Messi’s place on the cover for PES, so it should come as no surprise that the two time Ballon d’Or winner would be snapped up by EA Sports.

“Our FIFA franchise is the number one selling sports videogame franchise in the world, and Lionel Messi is the number one player in the world, so this agreement is a true partnership of superstars,” said Matt Bilbey, Vice President and GM of Football, EA SPORTS.

“With Messi on our team we have the world’s best and most exciting player to help EA SPORTS maintain its global leadership in the years ahead.”

The FIFA franchise is now in it’s 19th year, smashing sports games sales records with the release of FIFA 12 and still holding its place at the top end of the charts after 2 months.

Check out the FIFA Street video below to accompany the signing of Messi!
