While the people of North America have been enjoying the unique puzzle title that is Catherine, the rest of the West has unfortunately been unable to take a crack at the romantic nightmarish world that is Catherine. However it appears that Catherine will be showing up in Europe early next year in February 2012.
Deep Silver will be handling Atlus’ release and will also be releasing a neat double sided cover which will contain both the PS3 and Xbox 360 covers which were different in North America. Deep Silver is doing this so that “consumers will get the opportunity to select their personal preference as to which of the women in his life the game’s main character, Vincent, should choose. Rising Star Games today announced the release of The King of Fighters XIII, the latest instalment of the long-running beat ’em up. It will be putting up a fight for Christmas sales in retail outlets from today, on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The series started back in 1994, and this latest instalment marks the final chapter in the Ash Saga story-wise. It will allow you to test your abilities online, customise fighters to create a unique character to truly become the fighting king and stand out from the crowd.
The King of Fighters XIII is based on the arcade version of the game and allows up to three playable characters in 3-3 battles, taking the non-stop frenzied fights to the limit.
Fishlabs Entertainment has announced the release of Sports Car Challenge, the perfect app for people who would love nothing more than to gun some fast cars and reach the top speed of more than 400 km/h. And who doesn’t love that?

Arcen Games have pitched in for Steam’s Autumn Sale, putting their deep space strategy game AI War and all of the expansions on sale for 75% off. This basically means that you can get the base game for $5, small DLC for $1, full expansions for $2.50, and the whole AI War bundle together with some extra savings in the Alien Bundle for just $7.50! If that doesn’t get you excited then the unique puzzle game Tidalis is 80% off and is going for just $2 instead of the usual $10.
The sale goes until November 27, giving you a small window to grab the games as soon as possible. You can get both the PC and Mac versions, so pick your poison well. Or, heck, if you have both you may as well pick both since the discounts are so huge.
In what is considered a shock to the world, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has beaten all-comers in the latest charts from Japan this week. A subbed version of the game was released this week. Published by RPG giants Square Enix (yeah, Activsion licensed the release in Japan), the popular first person shooter sold 179,000 units for the Playstation 3 alone. It has beaten Level-5’s Playstation 3 version of Ni No Kuni by quite a distance, with Oliver’s adventure only having 65,000 units sold, placing third on the charts. Second on the charts was One Piece Gigant Battle 2 for the Nintendo DS, which sold 120,000 units.
Media Create, however, have come out with figures on the percentage of retail stock sold on each of those games and they don’t look impressive for both Ni No Kuni and One Piece Gigant Battle 2. For Ni No Kuni, those 65,000 units only represent 40% of stock. That is very disappointing, considering that Level-5 is big in Japan. For One Piece, those sales only represent 45% of stock shipped. Modern Warfare 3 sold 75% of its stock.
Now, if there was massive media hype for Modern Warfare 3 in Japan, then it may have contributed to the weaker sales of what should have been the two biggest Japanese releases. However, this might be just one of those instances where the Western game is more popular than those from their home country. Call of Duty has seen six figured sales for the last few years. However, first person shooters are no where near as popular in Japan than in the West, where the market is flooded with that particular genre. Hopefully the lower than expected sales don’t de-rail the plans for the Western release.
Act of Fury: Kraine’s Revenge is a retro-style shoot’em up developed by DarkWave Games that has an interesting little twist. Instead of giving your main character, Kraine Severe, a weapon, he is in fact the weapon.
Kraine Severe has been experimented on by the mad scientist, Dr Osvald Pernicious, the leader of the Doom Legion. After escaping the laboratory, he finds out that thanks to the mad experiments of Dr Pernicious, he can now turn into a hurricane. Because the names don’t have enough surrealism to them.
There are nine levels of action in four different environments, ranging from the desert to the icy North and South poles. There are three huge bosses to fight, all based on the evolution of the Doom Legion’s prototype weapon. Earn some stars and spend them to unlock special powers, like other smaller hurricanes and thunderstorms. In case you just don’t like any of your surrounding environments.

Over in Japan, Square Enix has released a demo for the Playstation Portable and Playstation Vita hunter game Lord of Apocalypse. In addition of being available on the Japanese Playstation Store, the demo will also be available online on 4Gamer and Famitsu.com, so those outside of Japan (which would be most of us) and who are curious how this game plays out, there is access to the demo right there. It worked for the Final Fantasy Type-0 demo, so it should work here.
So, what does the demo contain? Well, there will be two quests available, one for beginners and one for advanced players. Both of these quests will not feature in the final game. Despite the fact that it is a demo for the Playstation Portable version, it will be a great chance to have some sort of idea what the Playstation Vita version will be like, since content will be the same in both versions.
Another Way 2Play have taken all the awesome things of New York noire, put in some ridiculousness, and then put it into a pinball machine. Or should I say an awesome machine?
As a huge Pinball fan (seriously, I spent so long playing that Windows Space Cadet pinball game when I was younger) I think this is going to be a really fun little app. After all, what is better than an awesomely themed pinball machine?

In Tales of Innoncent R, the character Hermana Larmo encounters what looks like a bigger version of Geodude (although it would have a different name). Now, in real life, trying to punch a rock usually means a bit of pain on your side. For Hermana, her fists means pain for the rock. In this video, she manages to string in a 165-hit combo, amassing to 1452 points of damage. Wow, a lot of damage to dish out to a living rock. Reflecting her choice of weapons, she can only use hand to hand Artes. However, she also has access to some magical Artes.
Tales of Innoncent R is the remake of Tales of Innocence that will be released on the Playstation Vita on January 26 for Japan.
