Gackt’s SKET Dance Opening Music Video Streamed

Gackt has quite a close relationship with the people behind SKET Dance. Perhaps it’s due to the fact that a character in the SKET Dance manga was designed after him. Needless to say it was enough for him to grow a fond affection for the series, so much so that he guest starred as said character and now has went on to provide to the anime series’ third opening theme song.

The third opening from Gackt, titled “Graffiti”, has been running with the series for roughly 3 weeks now. Today Gackt has begun streaming his music video for the song, as part of promotion for the series which is quickly becoming one of the most popular new shonen series to come out of 2011, next to Beelzebub.

You can check out “Graffiti” below. Be sure to let us know what you think in the shoutbox and comments section.

Get Creative with Freakyforms

Freakyforms: Your Creation, Alive!, a downloadable game for the Nintendo 3DS, lets players create their own unique, weird but wonderful creatures called Formees.

Using shapes provided, players create their very own formee by putting together parts on a drawing board. With over 500 parts and accessories to choose from, including the ability to change the size and color of the parts, there is an infinite number of unique formees that can be made – a simple rabbit, a two-legged cow, a living submarine, the choice is yours!

Players are given a planet to populate their formees with – the more formees on your planet, the bigger it gets!  With your created formees, you can take them for a walk and have them explore the world and complete quests! As they explore, they eat and sometimes lay eggs that can be cracked to obtain coins which you can use to buy items, more parts or unlock mini games.

Turning on Streetpass enables you to wirelessly trade formees with other players. You can also send and receive formees by converting them to QR code images. You can take these received formees for a walk and use them as samples to create new ones.

Freakyforms: Your Creation, Alive! will be available in the Nintendo eShop for $6.99USD, on November 10 in the US.

New Alan Wake for XBLA

Today it has been confirmed that Alan Wake will in fact make a return to the Xbox 360 for the next chapter in the dark tale. However no details have been revealed for the new title besides that it will be an Xbox Live Arcade release.

This new Alan Wake game, may or may not be the direct sequel fans have been begging for, but instead be a spin-off of sorts that will bridge between Alan Wake and Alan Wake 2. Though it is all still down to speculation right now.

Screenshots are said to be revealed this coming Monday from Game Informer and more specific details will come to light at the Spike TV Video Game Awards. What do you think of this newly announced Alan Wake game? Let us know in the shoutbox and comments section.

Awesomenauts Coming February 2012

dtp entertainment and Ronimo Games today have announced that Awesomenauts will be launching into battle on the Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in February 2012. Along with this announcement, a 22-minute recording of a match between Awesomenauts’ developers with audio commentary has been posted to Youtube in order to demonstrate a more in-depth insight into the game’s mechanics.

Jasper Koning, co-founder and game designer at Ronimo Games spoke on the subject stating “Though we understand that fans may initially feel disappointed that the game will not be released before the end of the year, we will make sure to use the extra time available to us to polish Awesomenauts even further.”

Whilst this may upset some fans, judging by many disappointing titles in the past from other developers I’m sure we all know that rushing a game to meet a deadline often ends with a not-so-great product. With this in mind I’m sure the wait will be worth it, looking forward to the release in February 2012!

Top 20 Shonen Jump Manga People Gave Up On

Recently, a poll was held on popular Japanese website, Goo, that asked readers, which popular Shonen Jump manga did they stop reading before it’s natural conclusion. The results are surprising to say the least.

20. Eyeshield 21
19. Pyu to Fuku! Jaguar
18. Yu Yu Hakusho
17. Dr. Slump
16. Rurouni Kenshin
15. Fist of the North Star
14. Kinnikuman
13. City Hunter
12. Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo
11. Dragon Ball
10. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
9. Gintama
8. Hunter x Hunter
7. Reborn!
6. Captain Tsubasa
5. Bleach
4. The Prince of Tennis
3. One Piece
2. KochiKame
1. Naruto

Now these results don’t mean a series is bad by any means. If anything these are all classic manga series, by all counts. This however does show that some people lost faith in certain series, in particular Naruto. KochiKame was always going to be in the top 3 because it has been going for over 30 years, but Naruto quite questionably sits comfortably as the top series dropped by manga readers.

The Hidden Debuts on the 3DS today!

Want a trip into the paranormal? Get that 3DS out and prepare yourselves as The Hidden has finally hit shelves. For those a bit unfamiliar, The Hidden turns the handheld into a portal to the astral plane, allowing you to become a paranormal investigator and search, capture and destroy supernatural entities in real world environments, using the 3DS’ camera.

It’s quite an interesting concept, and definitely an idea that pushes the platform to think outside the box. To celebrate the release, 1st Playable and Majesco released a statement, along with some new details and features that players can spook up when that snag a copy.

“The new genre of augmented reality is an exciting direction for video games because it combines the real and virtual worlds in an unprecedented way,” said Jesse Sutton, CEO, Majesco Entertainment. “The Hidden is all about bridging worlds which conceptually is a great fit for the ghost hunting theme. Gamers everywhere will get a thrill out of discovering what’s truly hidden in some of their favorite real-world spots.”

Experience the world of augmented reality like never before as you utilize the Nintendo 3DS camera to help you scan, detect and hunt ghosts. As a member of the elite squad known as the Ghostly Entity Investigation and Strike Team, (G.E.I.S.T.), you must work with your team to destroy evil spirits and neutralize mysterious outbreaks that pose threats to all mankind. To find every ghost in the game, players must also bring their Nintendo 3DS with them to new locations and investigate the world around them in twelve exhilarating missions.

Additional features of The Hidden include:

  • Prepare to battle powerful bosses using your full arsenal of acquired tech. With unique strategies required for each enemy, you will soon find that some become long-running nemeses.
  • Perfect the tracking process to catch the stealthiest spirits, banish stubborn creatures that can’t be destroyed, and take down the malevolent entity behind it all.
  • Engage in different activities including:

o “Scanner”: Scan your current area using the Nintendo 3DS camera and Wi-Fi hotspots.

o “Tracker”: Hunt for ghosts and pull them out of their world and into ours.

o “Shooter”: Hunt and shoot ghosts using the latest in paranormal weapons tech.

o “Wormhole”: Navigate through tunnels of another dimension while battling ghosts.

o “Stealth”: Avoid being detected by entities that are too great in number or extremely tough to handle with your equipment.

  • Take photos of entities with the Nintendo 3DS camera and keep a log of your discoveries while using your map to keep track of where you’ve been.
  • The Hidden marks the first Augmented Reality title on the 3DS, so there is no doubt that we will soon see people everywhere holding their handhelds and searching for ghosts as they walk through schools, work, and shopping malls. This time though, no exorcists will be needed.

    Skyward Sword “Origin” Trailer

Nintendo have released yet another trailer for the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, this time under the title of “Origin”.

This trailer is without a doubt the most revealing of all trailers to date. Not only does it show off a fierce confrontation between some new characters, it also conveys the first ever footage of the Master Sword in Skyward Sword.

While there are some that would say that Nintendo are showing too much of the game off before it’s release, in a way ruining a lot of the mystique that surrounds most Zelda titles, Satoru Iwata, recently adressed the situation in the latest “Iwata Asks” interview, that he believes it won’t lessen the experience of playing it as there is so much content in the game.

You can check out the new “Origin” trailer below. Be sure to let us know what you think in the shoutbox and comments section below.

Yes, in a way this title sort of resembles that of Bakugan or Beyblade, but with more of a premise on racing and speed. DaGeDar launches November 15th for the DS at a nice low price of just $19.99.
