More information and screenshots revealed for FFXIII-2 villain Caius Ballad

While we may have seen plenty of screenshots about Noel, Serah and even plenty of Lightning, one character we have yet to hear a lot about is the bad guy. That is until today when Square Enix revealed a handful of new screenshots which cover some of the titles side-quests but also show us more about Caius Ballad.

These screenshots also come alongside the reveal from Japanese magazine V-Jump that Caius is chasing after Noel, the time traveling new character who saved Serah. He also is extremely powerful and rarely shows his emotions on the outside. While this may not be a whole lot of information it does follow through with what we see in these screens below. Expect to hear much more about Caius in the coming weeks as the release of FFXIII-2 grows nearer.

XBLA Cyber Monday deals are here

Following a lackluster list of Black Friday deals on XBLA, the Cyber Monday deals on Xbox are only slightly better.

Mortal Kombat Arcade is 50% off at 400 points and Dungeons & Dragons Daggerdale is 50% off at 600 points. Beyond Good & Evil is 70% off at 240 points and Risk Factions is 75% off. These deals will end at midnight on Monday, so be sure to grab ’em if you want them. More than likely the Fan Appreciation sale will also end today, so make sure to grab as much as you can before then.

Hopefully Microsoft’s Christmas sale will be better than their Thanksgiving sale.

Kojima states that Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D is a full remake

Metal Gear Solid has seen quite a few remakes lately, first we had the Metal Gear Solid HD collection which was released a few weeks ago in North America and now we have the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D for the Nintendo 3DS coming out a few months into 2012. Now with all of these remakes, a few people may wonder why the company is releasing so many remakes and no actual new content.

Well, Kojima has taken to the stage in front of Japanese press to try and convince people otherwise. On the stage Kojima explained that Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D is not just a simple port but is in fact a completely recreated title that is optimized especially for the Nintendo 3DS. Unfortunately so far it seems that Konami is keeping tight lipped about any new content besides photo camouflage available for Snake.

Next-generation Kinect rumored to read lips with high accuracy

Hm… as a writer you know you must always take every rumor you hear with a grain of salt but this one certainly sounds a bit promising. Eurogamer has reported that one of their unidentified sources has told them that Microsoft’s next-generation Kinect is going to be so accurate it will be able to read the player’s lips while they are playing. This means it will offer improved motion and voice sensing.

Besides the voice recognition, their source also says it will be able to tell when the user is angry or any other range of emotions as well as what direction they are facing. Currently there is no actual announcement from Microsoft about a Kinect 2 nor a next generation Xbox console but the source also reports that the Kinect 2 will be bundled with next gen consoles.

PS Vita memory cards priced for North America

1

Considering the fact that most games for the PS Vita actually require the ownership of a PS Vita memory card, it comes as a necessity now rather than a simple add-on. The whole thing is, now rather than dropping $249.99 or $299.99 on their Vita model of choice, gamers now need to drop extra money on the memory cards which usually always is a bad thing.

But how much money you ask? Well GameStop has the answer for you as they have just released the prices of each version of the PS Vita memory card, with the 4GB version costing $29.99, 8GB at $44.99, 16GB $69.99 and the 32GB coming in at a whopping $119.99. Simple as that, so best find out what size you are going to need now so you can set aside some of your holiday money to purchase the size you wish to when the Vita is released.

Gabe Newell says that piracy results as a problem with the service

1

Piracy and video games will always be a hot topic for discussion, especially when it comes to PC gamers. In the recent weeks some rather degrading remarks were made by a certain company towards the state of the PC market as it stands now with piracy issues causing the company to lose sales. However one name in the PC world, quite a large name at that, is taking a stand against these companies and it is none other than Gabe Newell.

In a recent interview with The Cambridge Student Newspaper Gabe explained his stance on piracy being a non-issue for Steam and his company and elaborated further by saying that “If a pirate offers a product anywhere in the world, 24/7, purchasable from the convenience of your personal computer, and the legal provider says the product is region-locked, will come to your country three months after the US release, and can only be purchased at a brick and mortar store, then the pirate’s service is more valuable. Most DRM solutions diminish the value of the product by either directly restricting a customer’s use or by creating uncertainty. Our goal is to create greater service value than pirates, and this has been successful enough for us that piracy is basically a non-issue for our company.”
