Kevin Butler Wants You To Buy The 3D Monitor

0

Kevin Butler has returned and he has continued to help the Playstation brand in advertising their latest products. This time, he has decided to help promote the Playstation 3D monitor. How? He tells people that he doesn’t accept half of things. This goes with split screen on two player gaming modes. He even points out that half the screen may equal half the fun. That is when he points out (or as he says, “invented) SimulView.

The Playstation 3D monitor has SimulView technology. Instead of two half screens, each player would have their own screen to themselves. Yes, a whole screen. He ends with the following quote, “Because half way is no way to play,” eating two halves of a sandwich as a whole sandwich. Too bad the monitor is only 24 inches.

The Playstation 3D monitor is now available in the United States at $499. If you want to watch the ad, you can watch it below.

ESRB Rates Gravity Rush

Gravity Rush is one of the most anticipated Playstation Vita games that will be released post launch in Japan. If you want to get this game, for those in the West, then you will be happy to know that there will be an English version of the game coming. How? Well… the ESRB have been busy rating the game. The game will be rated T for Teen and includes Fantasy Violence, Mild Suggestive Themes and Use of Alcohol.

Here is the description from the ESRB:

This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of a woman on a quest to uncover the secrets of her past. As players manipulate gravity to traverse through fantastical environments, they engage in hand-to-hand combat with blob-like creatures (i.e., Nevi) that break apart and disappear when defeated. Players can also throw various projectiles (e.g., boxes, furniture, crystals) at nearby enemies; battles are highlighted by cries of pain and colorful light effects. Some cutscenes contain other instances of violence: a character beating up armed thugs; a girl getting “eaten” (i.e., absorbed) by a large Nevi. During the course of the game, some female characters wear revealing outfits, and one still-frame cutscene depicts a woman covering her breasts after dropping a towel. Some sequences depict up-skirt camera angles as players’ character flies through the air. The game also includes a protracted interaction with a drunken character (e.g., “Wow he smells like he crawled out of the bottle” and “Ahh, the flower of the nightclub! *Hic*”).

Expect the game in the West on launch day for all territories. In Japan, the game will be released in February 2012.

Ueda Talks On Twitter, No Mention On Rumoured Departure

The man behind Ico, Shadow of the Colossus and The Last Guardian has spoken on Twitter. Fumito Ueda has revealed that The Last Guardian seems to be his priority, despite receiving a lot of questions lately. Those question may be the result of a recent rumour, reported by Eurogamer, that Ueda has left Team Ico and is working on The Last Guardian on a freelance basis.

Here is the tweet from Ueda:

Ueda says he’s been getting lots of Q’s lately, but fear not – they’re hard at work on Last Guardian, as always.

So the rumour has not been discussed at all. Maybe a smart move, as he and his team work hard on getting The Last Guardian complete for a release in 2012. Whether he has moved on or not should be discussed after the game’s release, not during its development.

Madman Manga Sales

Madman Entertainment have been known for their generosity when it comes to the season of giving and this year is no different, with Madman’s Magnificent Manga Stocktake Sale. That’s right, the sale that Madman held earlier this year is making a triumphant return.

The sale marks down incredibly popular manga titles such as Dragon Ball and Bleach to prices between $2 to $5. If that is enough to entice you for some holiday manga spending, follow this link to jump in on the sales festivities.

What manga will you be picking up on sale? Let us know what you picked up in the shoutbox and comments section.

Roll in to Fortune Street today!

Want to navigate a virtual board game to control property and stock purchases? No? Well, what if there was famous characters from the Mario franchise as well as the illustrious Dragon Quest series? That is exactly what Fortune Street is, Monopoly with Mario and Slimes. This new first-party Wii release throws together some of the top players from both franchises (over 20) into one experience where the object of the game is to simply maximize your wealth.

Miis are also in the mix in Fortune Street and can even be customized with Ninja, Mario, and Dragon Quest attires as they go for gold in the 15 different game board settings from both franchises.

“During the holidays people like to get together with friends and family members to play games,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Fortune Street lets everyone have fun while buying, selling and trading property to grow their bank accounts.”

In the west, this marks our first Fortune Street release but over in Japan, this specific title was the 9th in the Itadaki Street series. Along with Xenoblade Chronicles, Nintendo have been on a nice localization trend and hopefully this title will be successful as future releases like Fortune Street are definitely a welcome sight to see considering the slim amount of games we have seen on the Wii in the past year. You can find Fortune Street in stores today, wherever video games are sold.

Nano Assault Now Available for the 3DS!

A few months ago, we seen a title by the name of Dream Trigger 3D come out for the 3DS. If you remember it, this was around the time when Child of Eden came out, and the two had quite a few similarities with their narratives and visual design. Sadly, Dream Trigger was a confusing mess as it tried too hard to stand apart from it’s competition and while it was beautiful to look at, it just took too much work to actually play correctly. Months later, you might be asking why I am babbling on about that previous release, and that brings me to Nano Assualt, a new visually stunning 3D Shoot-em which is a follow-up to the Nanostray series for the Nintendo DS which has released today on the Nintendo 3DS.

For many reasons, this title has captured my attention for quite some time and it appears this title has been able to capture an easily accessible control scheme to go right along with it’s breathtaking level design. In Nano Assault, the player must trek through 32 twisted cell stages and dark worlds with rugged landscapes that become more challenging as you improve.

Features Include:

  • Upgrade weapons to fight off bigger infections.
  • Mission mode, an unlockable arcade style cell stage where you must destroy enemies against a time counter.
  • Leaderboard and Hall of Fame modes let you publish your level scores and compare them with friends online.
  • Detailed enemy Nanopedia provides information about each adversary.

If you are by chance looking for a in-depth “Child of Eden-esque” experience on the go, Nano Assault is certainly looking to bring a lot any 3DS owners library and is priced at just $29.99. For even more information, you can check out the official website at www.nanoassaultgame.com.

Fans of television rejoiced today as it was revealed today that Kiefer Sutherland will play Jack Bauer in a movie adaption of 24. The film will begin shooting in the spring. Deadline says that Mark Bomback “will turn in the latest script draft by year’s end. Imagine and the studio have about five directors in mind–no, Tony Scott is not attached anymore–and it will all begin happening very quickly in the early part of next year.
