Kingdom Hearts 3D to feature Fantasia World

V-Jump has revealed a new world for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. The world will be titled ‘Symphony of Sorcery’ and will be based upon the classic Disney film Fantasia.

Sora and Riku will travel to the Fantasia world and meet Sorcerer Mickey. As you can imagine there will probably be plenty of broomsticks in this world. So if your a fan of broomsticks, your in luck… I guess? At least the Fantasia world will be visually interesting.

Choplifter HD takes to the skies

inXile Entertainment is happy to announce that Choplifter HD is now available on consoles as well as PC. This retro remake offers the same goals of the original Choplifter yet incorporates new fantasy themed events that keep players captivated. Zombies dangling from the base of your chopper certainly gives the game an unique twist.

Brian Fargo, CEO of inXile Entertainment, offers the following statement:

We really focused on returning to our old school gaming roots with Choplifter HD. We made sure to have plenty of variety in missions, choppers and enemies, while lacing in those special moments that we love here at InXile. Choplifter HD is the kind of game that WE want to play! We are very proud of the experience we created and I can’t wait for gamers to get their hands on it!

Choplifter HD can be purchased on the Playstation Network as well as the PC for $14.99 and on Xbox Live Arcade for 1200 MSP. Konami jointly published the Xbox version while inXile Entertainment solely published the title for Playstation and PC. You race against the clock, sketching and guessing words, while earning points that can be spend on customising brushes and canvases, or sending them as gifts to your friends, if you’re that generous.

You get to grow your network of friends, with automated matchmaking presenting an endless roster of random challengers. Plus, like the title says, you get to chat with them and taunt them as you school them in the ways of the chalk. A perfect app for Android users who love their PvP puzzle games, as well as lording their victory over their opponents, this is definitely a good app to pick up.

Mega Man 25th Anniversary, Some ‘Things’ Planned

Capcom certainly had quite a year in 1987, and 25 years on two of their oldest franchises Mega Man and Street Fighter are celebrating their 25th Anniversary.

Earlier today Capcom announced they had ‘big things’ planned for Street Fighter’s anniversary. Now they have revealed that instead of having ‘big things’ planned for Mega Man’s 25th Anniversary, they simply have ‘things’ planned.

Whatever those ‘things’ are exactly, we do not know. Let’s hope it’s not anything like how they chose to celebrate Mega Man’s 24th anniversary last year – by nailing an unsuspecting Mega Man into a cold coffin and immediately going back to talking about how Street Fighter x Tekken will change the face of fighting games.

Kid Icarus: Uprising to ship with 3DS Stand

Yesterday we discovered that Kid Icarus: Uprising would be compatible with the Circle Pad Pro to help out lefties. Today we find out via tweet from creative director Masahiro Sakurai, that the title will ship with a 3DS Stand of all things.

The 3DS Stand set to ship with the title is apparently designed to keep the console steady while playing. I’m not sure whether we should be concerned as to why it was necessary to create a stand peripheral to keep the console steady while playing this game, but for now I’ll reserve judgement until we can see the game in action with the stand and without it.

The game is a browser based game but deserves a play for all NES fans wanting a pleasantly kick-ass nostalgia trip through classic NES game worlds.

Massive Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2 screenshot release has nearly everything you need

Whenever you usually see some news about screenshots being released for a video game of some sort, the most you can expect is somewhere around ten or at the most twenty images. But how about more than seventy pictures that show nearly everything you will need to know about an upcoming video game release?

Such is the case today with NIS America’s latest batch of English screenshots for Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2. All of the screenshots can be seen in the gallery below and they show off practically every new and returning feature that Mk2 will have over the first Hyperdimension Neptunia title. This includes new characters, the Lily system, Chirper, the new battle system and plenty of other things. With Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2’s release quickly approaching this is a great time to refresh your memory of the Gameindustri world.

Street Fighter’s 25th Anniversary, Capcom have ‘Big Things’ planned

For those of you who didn’t know, Street Fighter turns 25 this year on the 30th of August. Capcom have today revealed that when it comes time to celebrate there famous franchises 25th anniversary they claim to have ‘big things’ planned.

They have yet to reveal what exactly the big plans are but it’s safe to assume that a fair amount of Hadouken’s will be thrown this year. Thus far the only thing they have revealed regarding the anniversary is the flashy logo for promotional use for the event which can be seen above.

New Eureka Seven: AO Information

Some new information has come to light regarding the upcoming sequel to the cult classic mecha anime Eureka Seven. The sequel, Eureka Seven: AO, now has it’s plot detailed as well as some new character artwork for protagonists, Ao and Naru.

The plot focuses on 13 year old Ao Fukai, lives with an elderly doctor as his parents disappeared when he was at a young age. His childhood friend Naru Arata has a strange ‘yuta’ ability that she got when she was younger due to a mysterious accident. The ‘yuta’ ability seems to allow her to speak with the dead. Soon Ao discovers the Nirvash mecha and the story takes flight from there.

Tomb Raider promotion with Geocaching creates a real world treasure hunt

Now some people will likely not know what Geocaching is and those people should not feel bad about not knowing. However now there is a perfect reason to learn what Geocaching is because Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have announced that they will be partnering with Geocaching.com to help promote their upcoming Tomb Raider game.

Now geocaching is something that is quite interesting in theory and is done by countless people all over the globe. Participatnts must use a GPS system or an app on their phone (that supports GPS) to track down various “geocaches” hidden by other people who then promote it on the website. The promotion itself will begin later this year and promises “a series of unique location-based adventures.” It will not only make use of Geocaching.com’s app but also something called Geocaching Challenge from Groundspeak.com. There was no hint as to what the treasures hidden will be but they most certainly will be worth the effort. Find out more about what Geocaching is here.
