Four new aircraft revealed for Jane’s Advanced Strike Fighters

Koch Media today revealed four aircrafts of the upcoming action flight simulation Jane’s Advanced Strike Fighters, in build up to the games imminent release. During the campaign, the players can take a seat in the cockpit of more than 30 different aircraft types, including the Soviet fighter jets MiG-21 and MiG-29 as well as the American fighter jet F-4 Phantom II and the stealth versatile fighter aircraft F-35 Lightning II.

The supersonic jet fighter aircraft MiG-21 is also known under his NATO nickname “Fishbed”. The airplane was first brought into service in 1959 and it was used by more than 50 countries. Since World War II more than 11.000 units of the MiG-21 were produced – that makes the aircraft one of the world’s most used fighter aircrafts.

The MiG-29 “Fulcrum” was as well produced by the Soviet aircraft company Mikojan-Gurewitsch. It was developed as an counter piece for the American aircrafts F-15 Eagle and F-16 Fighting Falcon. Amongst other things it is used to defend airports and cities.

The American F-4 Phantom II is an all-weather, long-range, supersonic fighter jet with fighter bomber abilities. It was used by the USA between 1961 and 1995 and is still used by other countries, for example Germany. The F-4 Phantom II reach a top speed of more than 2.300 km/h and carry up to 8.400 kg.

The F-35 Lightning II is an improved version of the experimental aircraft X-35, the winner of the “Joint Strike Fighter Progam” of the Department of Defense of the USA. It is considered as the first stealth multirole fighter.

Jane’s Advanced Strike Fighters offers 16 missions and a territory of 65,000 square kilometers with mountains, deserts, and urban landscapes, as well as 30 detailed fighter jets from the USA, Russia, Europe, and China. In extensive multiplayer arenas, players can set battle conditions such as the number of rounds and available aircraft for themselves. The title will be released for the Xbox 360, Windows PC, and PlayStation 3 on March 9th, 2012

Nexuiz launches on XBLA today

Nexuiz, the next title in the Xbox Live House Party promotion, has launched today on Xbox Live Arcade for Xbox 360. It has gone on sale for the price of 800 MSP and is available to download now.

The arena-based FPS is a fairly big download, sitting at just over 1000MB, though this must be because it uses CryEngine3, giving it impressive graphics for an XBLA title. Players will be able to wage war online or against bots across 9 different maps using any number of other-worldly power-ups and weapons.

The PC and PS3 releases of the game will be coming later this spring.

Pac-Man to Make his TV Debut

Namco Bandai Games, Arad Productions and 41 Entertainment have announced today that they have granted the US television rights to Disney for a new animated action comedy series titled (for the moment) Pac-Man: The Adventure Begins, and is slated for Fall 2013. Chances are that title will change, at least to simply ‘The Adventure’, since an adventure can only begin for so long.

Based on that cute little circle man, the series is created in stereoscopic 3D, executive produced by Avi Arad (Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk, Fantastic Four, and X-Men) and Rick Ungar (Biker Mice from Mars, X-Men Evolution and Legend of the Dragon).

Avi Arad has this to say about the possible Pac-Man show:

“I am very excited about producing PAC-MAN – The Adventure Begins, the 3D animated series, with Rick Ungar. PAC-MAN is one of the world’s greatest icons. He is funny and adventurous and will bring his tone and abilities to this beautifully executed animated series. For more than 30 years, PAC-MAN has been a household name. Having this property on Disney XD is its rightful place to be.”

Stay tuned for more information about the impending Pac-Man show as it comes! What do you guys think about this Pac-Man TV show news? Yay or nay?

Good People Die given new name, set to release in North America on 3DS and Vita

Aksys Games has officially made a lot of fans very happy today. Earlier today they revealed that they will be bringing the sequel to 999 to North America later this year. To make things even better they revealed that not only will the title be released on the Nintendo 3DS but it will also be available on the PlayStation Vita, bringing a great puzzler series to the new handheld.

The game has undergone a name change however. Rather than being called Good People Die, Aksys is now naming the title Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward, which is quite a mouthful, but a small price to pay to see the title released overseas. Gamers will be treated to fully voiced dialogue that offers both the Japanese and English voice tracks as well as 24 different unique endings as of this announcement.
