NeverDead’s second Expansion Pack DLC detailed and dated

While the first DLC pack for Konami’s NeverDead featured the up and coming pop-star Nikki and is available for download today, this time around it seems that Konami is bringing a bit of age and experience to the party with their “Expansion Pack Volume 2.” This time around players will be able to play as NADA’s Chief Sullivan as he takes on the forces of hell.

Besides the unlocking of Chief Sullivan for online selection two costumes are unlocked for the main character Bryce Boltzmann. Also unlocked in this package are more gameplay modes for the Sewer level, allowing players to take on the Onslaught, Egg Hunt, and Fragile Alliance challenges in that area of the game. The “Expansion Pack Volume 2” will be available February 28th and will likely sell for the same amount of MSP as the first expansion pack, 320 MSP or $3.99.

Lucky Gem Casino launches on Facebook

Lucky Gem Casino is another leap for social gaming in the eyes of PopCap Games. As many of PopCap titles have been enjoyed by gamers on Facebook such as Bejeweled Blitz and Zuma Blitz, the next step for the social game developer is to provide a free casino themed environment for Facebook users to enjoy.

Players can only win/lose virtual money at this casino! Rather than becoming addicted and losing all your cash, PopCap offers an alternative fun gameplay where you can compare scores with your Facebook friends. Additionally, you can buy Facebook credit to use within the game for virtual money and perhaps some neat in-game features.

A word from the vice president of PopCap – Dennis Ryan:

Casino-themed social games are one of the fastest growing genres on Facebook. The strength of PopCap’s game brands and the quality of the Lucky Gem product combined with our experience in luck-based games outside of Facebook means we are perfectly positioned to deliver the ultimate online free casino game experience – PopCap style. Enlivening traditional casino games with our franchises will delight millions of PopCap fans while introducing our world-class brands to a new and enthusiastic audience of online gamers.

Lucky Gem Casino may yet be in the Beta stages of development, but it is available to play on Facebook and will receive continual feature updates. Check out the game for free (Here).

A look into Sao Paulo, Max’s new playground in the South

I cant believe how awesome this game is looking and the amount of research and effort Rockstar are putting into Max Payne 3 to make sure that we the gamers get the most explosive and accurate experience possible. As a tormented and down and out Max leaves his home in New York City he hopes of a better life and new start in one of the most colourful and upcoming cities in the world Sao Paulo Brazil. After coincidentally running into an old “colleague”, Max finds himself working for The Brancos, an exceptionally wealthy South American family living in a city that attracts so many billionaires it ranks in the top 6.

In an effort to get a better understanding of the life Max will be living and the environment and culture of the people who inhabit his new home, Rockstar have made many trips to the area to add authenticity to their representation of the city and the colourful people that inhabit it. Sao Paulo has become somewhat of a investors paradise of late, with many powerful rich businessman moving into the city. Rockstar wanted to make sure that the wealthy element that Max interacts with throughout the game were accurately portrayed, showing why it has become the 4th most popular city for investors. While I was sterotypically thinking it was purely drug money, it was very intersting to read that it is actually people such as the Co-owner of Burger King and on a more interesting note, the worlds first Ethanol billionaire.

Just like any city where money is thrown around like confetti, and has a colouful and intersting underbelly, there will always be an element of crime both organised and petty, and Sao Paulo is no different. Wealthy residents are always wary when walking in certain streets and known no-go areas, and even cabbies have resorted to running red lights after midnight to avoid the plague of carjackings and robberies that now plague the city. The addition of muscle bound gorillas are also a common sight, protecting the wealthy as they go about their business throughout the high end shops and hotels.

Rockstars research also revealed some more interesting facts about the fascinating city. Due to the massive traffic congestion that can see people waiting in 100 mile queues to travel 5 miles in an hour, combined with the high rate of crime, many wealthy residents have taken to the skies, resulting in the highest number of helicopters in any city. As can be seen from the pictures the cityscape is literally dotted with helipads on top of the hige rise buildings. The Helicopter is also an invaluable and necessary mode of transport for Max as he and Passos ensure the safety of the family throughout the city.

While Rockstar would love us to believe their research was all hard work, Im sure they had some fun and games while replicating the lifestyles of the rich and famous Sao Paulo elitists. From private invite only parties to shopping down the main strip, the Brancos in-game lifestyle was heavily influenced by the real goings on of the wealthy families of the area.

With so little thought going into so many AAA rated games these days, its awesome on behalf of Rockstar to be providing so much detailed information, and showing the amount of time and effort they are willing to expend to ensure Max Payne 3 will truly blow our minds. Its been a long time coming and unlike many other big names which were forgotten as fast as they flew off the shelves this one looks to be shaping up as an epic game that will be remembered throughout the genre. Please please Rockstar dont prove me wrong as judging from the information so far i dont have much to worry about.

Apple iPhones and ipads are tough, but can they handle the bodyslams and raw power of THQ’s new release WWE Wrestlefest, now available for both platforms, and based on the WWE arcade machine game that dominated much of the 90’s. Become the biggest delinquent and lick your wounds with these newest Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention screenshots

Besides the impressive fact that NIS America has managed to cram all of the content found in Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention onto the tiny cartridges used for the PlayStation Vita, Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention contains a large amount of content that was not available on the original release.

This includes all of the DLC that was released for the original PlayStation 3 version of the game as well as four new scenarios that include two brand new characters. With the official release of the PlayStation Vita only a couple hours away, it only makes sense that NIS America get fans even more excited for the system by releasing 47 new screenshots which can be seen below. If only we didn’t have to wait a few extra months for the release of Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention in April. I mean… Japanese fans have already played the game for 10 million hours already… we need to catch up!

Catch the masters of Kung Fu do what they do best in Kung Fu Strike: The Warrior’s Rise’s first gameplay trailer

While we’ve seen a brief teaser trailer and a few screenshots of 7sixty’s Kung Fu Strike: The Warrior’s Rise we’ve yet to see any actual gameplay from the game since it was revealed a few weeks ago. That is until today of course, when 7sixty released the below trailer featuring plenty of kung fu action.

It appears that players will have access to more than just the main character General Loh as multiple characters appear to be controlled throughout the gameplay video. Also it seems that these men characters have gained such a mastery over Kung Fu that they are able to reflect shuriken back at the enemies who threw them. Currently 7sixty still has not announced a release date nor a price for Kung Fu Strike: The Warrior’s Rise when it is released on the XBLA.

Persona 4 Arena coming to North America this summer

Atlus has decided that they had teased us enough with whether or not they would be bringing the Japanese fighting game Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena and have come right out and said it. Rejoice Persona fans because Atlus will be releasing Persona 4 Arena, the new shorter name of the game, sometime this summer.

The game will be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as well as a new story and online mode. Persona 4 Arena has been developed by Arc System Works and will feature battles between Persona 3 and 4 characters in high-resolution 2D similar to what was found with Arc System Works’ popular BlazBlue series.
