New Resident Evil Chronicles HD Collection released

While we’ve heard a bit about the Resident Evil Chronicles HD Collection so far, we haven’t actually seen much of what the game is going to look like when it is released with its HD upgrade as well as Trophy and Move support. Capcom hopes to alleviate that issue today as they have released a small amount of screenshots which can be seen below.

Those eager to play the Resident Evil Chronicles HD Collection when it is released better have some money on the PSN account because the title will only be released digitally and exclusively on the PlayStation 3.

Check out the new Street Fighter X Tekken fighters on the Vita version

Earlier today we learned that the PlayStation Vita version of Street Fighter X Tekken will be able to not only play online using 3G, but it will also be able to crossplay with PlayStation 3 users. Now Capcom has chosen to give us a little trailer featuring all of the new characters that will be featured on the PlayStation Vita version of the game.

You can see the trailer below, but you most likely have seen a lot of these characters before on hacked PS3/360 versions of the title thanks to the fact that they already exist on disc as “on-disc DLC”… lovely. Either way check it out below and see how these characters will look on Sony’s relatively new handheld gaming device.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Assassin’s Creed costume available now alongside free Serah outfit

There has been plenty of DLC released for Final Fantasy XIII-2 since it was released however all of this DLC would cost you at least a few dollars depending on what you wanted. However Square Enix has released a new costume for Serah that will cost you absolutely nothing and that costume is called the Style and Steel outfit.

Also those who are fans of Assassins’ Creed will be happy to know that Ezio Auditore’s outfit for Noel is available today as well, though this one will cost you 240 MSP/$3 if you want to dress like an assassin. Those who enjoy battling in the Coliseum will be happy to know that PuPu and Gilgamesh have also entered the arena and can be fought against, though they will cost 160 MSP/$2 and 320 MSP/$4 respectively if you want to take them on.

Street Fighter X Tekken Vita version to contain cross-platform multiplayer with PS3

0

Those who are planning on picking up Street Fighter X Tekken no longer have any reason to be concerned with the amount of people that will be playing the game online. The reason for this is because Capcom just revealed that Street Fighter X Tekken will feature cross platform play between the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

This means that players can use their Wi-Fi connections and even their 3G connections to play against other users who are on their PlayStation 3 consoles. This will creates a little kerfuffle however, because if Capcom offers easy to use attacks with the Vita’s touch controls then Vita owners will immediately be superior. We shall wait and see.

Resident Evil 6 release date moved up to October 2nd with new trailer

Earlier today at the Capcom Captivate 2012 event a new trailer for Resident Evil 6 was revealed and it has now been placed below for your viewing pleasure. This trailer includes plenty of plot details but also one key date. That date of course is the brand new release date which accelerates Resident Evil 6’s infection rate to October 2nd instead of November 20th.

Those who have seen the trailer already will also see plenty of old friends returning in the form of Ada Wong and Sherry Birkin. Also that mysterious third character everyone was curious about? It turns out that his name is Jake Muller and he is Albert Wesker’s son…

Unity Hits 1 Million Users and Counting

0

Unity, game engine and tools, was released back in 2005, with just a few hundred users. To date, Unity has been downloaded 6 million times, and has reached 1 million registered developers. At the end of 2010, they had 250,000 developers using their platform, which grew to 750,000 just a year later! This exponential growth continues strong, as the platform spreads in popularity across Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe.

The system’s monthly active developer base has grown to 300,000, who put in 2.5 million hours into their projects in the last month alone. According to Evans Data’s statistics, this adds up to almost 2% of the world’s software developers using Unity!

Unity is an intuitive and flexible development platform used to make interactive 3D and 2D content. The system can deploy to many platforms, including iOS and the browser with the help of the Unity Web Player. It’s ease of use makes prototyping games quick and straightforward, and has become very popular amongst the indie crowd.

You should check out their Demos made with Unity. And you can always download the full version free today!
