Senran Kagura BURST: Crimson Girls trailer shows off plenty of costumes

Today Marvelous has revealed a new trailer for Senran Kagura BURST: Crimson Girls which will be released on the Nintendo 3DS on August 30th in Japan. As many of you probably already know, Senran Kagura BURST will feature five newly playable characters as well as the first game of the series included on the cartridge.

The trailer, first found by Andriasang, which can be seen below shows off a decent amount of gameplay footage including some outlandish attacks and costumes that the girls can be changed into during the course of the game. Now despite the apparent popularity of the title in Japan (it is even receiving an anime), there still is no sign of potential localization of the game for Western audiences.

Pikmin 3 will not feature online multiplayer

Anyone who was hoping to try out Pikmin 3’s new multiplayer with those who don’t happen to be sitting next to them on the couch will have to live with some disappointment because Shigeru Miyamoto revealed in an interview with IGN that, despite the Wii U’s more powerful online capabilities, Pikmin 3 will only feature local multiplayer.

In his interview he stated:

“You have to be very careful that you don’t drop frames as you’re trying to sync up with other players over what could be a very great physical distance, over the Internet. But in the situation of Pikmin, for example, since you would have lots of individual, small creatures, the Pikmin, whose every movement and location is going to be really important in the game, it would be very difficult to sync up over an internet connection.

So I think what we’ve decided to do is focus on the single player and local multiplayer aspects, which are really fun. But unfortunately, no online multiplayer for Pikmin 3. But the co-op local multiplayer is really fun.”

You can take his answer as you will, but Pikmin 3 still looks like it may be one of the best titles to pick up alongside the Wii U outside of P-100 or ZombieU of course.

Gravity Rush costume DLC detailed and dated

If you own a PlayStation Vita you probably know that Gravity Rush is now available for purchase in stores around the country. However if you chose not to pre-order the game before its release today you may be a bit sad to hear that all of the pre-order bonuses you could have obtained, such as the Military DLC package from Amazon, are no longer free bonuses.

Well if you don’t have any qualms about a digital version of Gravity Rush, you can still receive the Military DLC pack if you happen to purchase the game for the slightly cheaper price of $35.99 from the PlayStation Store. If you still managed to miss out on the DLC then it will be available on July 24th for $3.99. Those who want the above “spy costume” for Kitten will be able to pick it up on June 26th in a “Spy Pack” while a maid outfit will be available on July 10th, both sharing the $3.99 price point.

Universal Monsters Online Detailed

Bigpoint has released more details for their next free-to-play game Universal Monsters Online, this time in partnership with Universal Partners & Licensing.  As the name of the game would suggest, and the picture above displays, the game will feature the Universal Pictures monsters, such as Dracula, The Wolf Man, and The Creature from the Black Lagoon.  Designed as a browser MOBA (Mulitplayer Online Battle Arena), players will get to build up in-game currency to purchase new monsters, skins for those monsters, and special abilities to get the edge on your opponent.

The game looks to be pretty true to the source material with a few stylistic flares and Universal Pictures has more than 80 years of monster material to draw from, so here’s hoping the game will have a good balanced fun and players aren’t all running around as the best known monsters.

So far the game is set for a Summer release, but there is a chance to get in on the closed beta testing that will be starting soon by checking out the Universal Monsters Online website HERE.

WeMade Entertainment E3 Wrap Up

WeMade Entertainment surprised many at E3, with various innovative mobile titles!

WeMade Entertainment came hard this year at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) this year, showing off an impressive new line-up for iOS and Android games. Their exhibition booth was said to have about 200 people walk-through who got to experience eight mobile and online titles.  The lineup included Project Dragon: The Roar From The Dungeon, Chaos and Defense, Viking Island, Pet Island, Goblin Mobile, Friend Fighter, Rhythm Scandal, and Hero Square. Of these eight titles, six were playable.

Perhaps one of the most impressive things about WeMade’s line up was the variation in the line up. Project Dragon: The Roar From The Dungeon is an MMORPG with drop in and drop out play. Chaos & Defence on the other hand is a real-time strategy tower defence title where players can take on AI or other players. Viking Island is a fully 3D RPG adventure with social integration that involves a unique mix of farming and fighting. WeMade also has Pet Island to show off which is about bidding on the economy simulation environment, while Friend Fighter (working title) is about 1-on-1 combat similar to classic fighters like Street Fighter but with added social features. Goblin Mobile is a side-scroller action game where players choose from one of three classes then hack, slash and shoot monsters. WeMade also had Hero Square on display which is an RPG and simulation mash up with over 20 different hero classes about exploring and battling monsters with friends and social functions. Finally there was Rhythm Scandal, a rhythem action game with location-based elements built in featuring 3D avatar customisation and trendy K-Pop music.

WeMade Entertainment have impressed many with their extensive line up this year, focusing on multiplayer and interesting social features. The Secret World Third Beta Weekend, June 15th

The third beta weekend for The Secret World, titled “Hell Raised”, is coming this weekend starting June 15th and it is planning on bringing players even more than the last two.  This time around players will get to play the start experiences for the other two factions, the Dragons and the Illuminati, as well as many more areas previously unavailable.  Included in these areas are two dungeons, The Polaris and Hell Rising, so that players can test their resolve as well as their character.

The Secret World has already gotten 1.3 million players registered for beta testing, but that can certainly go up as the easiest way to get into the beta test is by pre-ordering the game.  After this weekend there will only be one beta weekend left, which will be coming next weekend starting the 22nd.  After that the game is set to be released on July 3rd, so no more beta access, though players who have pre-ordered will be able get into Early Access on June 29th.

Chaos and Defence Available This Month

 

Chaos & Defence has been a title that’s been in the works for a while now, in fact we first saw a trailer for it last November. But that didn’t stop WeMade Entertainment from showing it off at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) and announcing that the title will be available later this month.

Chaos & Defence blends real-time strategy elements with tower defence gameplay. Players are pitted against either AI or other players online as well. Make sure to keep an eye out for Chaos & Defence Online this month as it should be available soon! In the meantime, check out this trailer below!

Two Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz Videos Released

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz will be released this Thursday the 14th of June in Japan as Super Monkey Ball Vita. To celebrate, two new videos have been released by SEGA of Japan. The first video focuses on the different levels that will be present in the game. What is awesome is that the charm of the Super Monkey Ball series translates well onto the Playstation Vita. The levels involve a train, gigantic clay monkeys and lots of bananas.

The second video features another bikini wearing Japanese model. Like the previous one, the model plays the game while on something that is somewhat related to the game. The last model played the game while lying on an exercise ball. This model, however, uses something quite interesting. Watch the video to see what I mean.

For those outside of Japan, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz won’t be released until October 23rd in the US and October 26th in EU.

New Vita Game Heaven Details Revealed

There has been some information leaked from Dengeki PlayStation concerning the next Playstation Vita Game Heaven broadcast. In an interview with Sony Computer Entertainment Japan CEO Hiroshi Kawano, it was revealed that the next , Game Heaven will be a broadcast watched from the start to finish, similar to Nintendo Direct, scrapping the sudden release of information which plagued the first Game Heaven. Kawano has also revealed that, like the last Game Heaven, there will be third party games present with new information and development secrets. Not included in this interview is when the broadcast will happen. No new date has been revealed since it was announced the broadcast will be held in June.

In other Playstation related news revealed in the interview, the Wonderbook AR technology will be released in Japan, there will be more Hatsune Miku related announcement in the future and an internal team has been formed to look into the Japanese Playstation Plus program. Users of the Japanese PS Plus program have complained that it is quite low key compared to the North American and European PS Plus programs.
