Alum Armor iPhone 4/4s Bumper Announced

LUXA2 announced their latest addition to their line of mobile accessories today. The Alum Armor iPhone 4S Bumper is an aluminium bumper case with a patented kickstand for hand free viewing. The case is constructed from aircraft grade aluminium for light weight and strength. All the aluminium buttons and case parts are CNC machined for a precision fit. There are special cut outs on the bumper to ensure that the case does not interfere with the WiFi or 3G signals. The case easily installs with a few screws and has cushions on the inside of the bumper to prevent any scratches. The case is available in black/gold, blue/silver, red/gold, and pink. No word on price or an exact availability, but expect to see the cases at a store carrying LUXA2 products soon.

Catch the Ark Revealed

Composed of former EA Visceral employees, Australian game developers PlaySide Studios announced their latest game today. Catch the Ark is an endless running to be released for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch come Q3 2012. The game stars three one of a kind animals that were denied entry onto Noah’s Ark and now much brave rapids, avoid obstacles, capture special power ups, and conquer mini boss battles to survive the cataclysmic floods that endlessly chase them. PlaySide Studios look to raise the bar for endless runners with Catch the Ark. The game boasts beautiful console level graphics, unique multiplayer modes, and unlockable rafts.

Roklock v3 Case Announced for New iPad

Rokform has announced the beginning of pre-orders for their latest case, the RokLock v3 for the new iPad/iPad 2. The RokLock v3 is a system that allows for the mounting of your iPad on multiple different mount points while providing protection for the iPad. The case is constructed from polypolycarbonate and has anti slip hex grips on the back of the case. The kit comes with a free screen protector.  Available in black, blue, gun metal, pink, white, smoke, and Roksalt, the case is $69.00 and an optional magnet kit is available for $29.00. This optional magnet kit mounts behind the six anti slip hex grips and allows your iPad to stick to any magnetic surface. Other mounting accessories will be released in the near future.

Kindle Fire Gets 8 EA Mobile Games

Kindle Fire owners are getting eight games this summer to satisfy any cravings for games they might have. EA Mobile is starting off with the release of the updated basketball classic NBA Jam, followed by the five games in one app Pogo Games, golf game Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12, football/soccer game FIFA 12, arcade racer Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, first person shooter Battlefield: Bad Company 2, racing game Real Racing 2, and caps off the group of releases with classic board game Connect 4. All of these titles are available now at the Amazon Appstore for prices ranging from free to $4.99. Check them out here.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy hits stores today; eight songs made available as DLC

If you haven’t been to your local video game retailer, then perhaps you should go take a look at what they have for sale because Square Enix’s Theatrhythm Final Fantasy was released today. Then again, if you can’t make it to the store today you can always check out the game’s launch trailer below. Now if you have already picked up the title you may also have noticed that the game will feature some DLC sometime in the future.

Currently eight songs have been named as DLC for the game, but they have not yet been released and an exact date is currently unknown. Each of these songs will be available for 99 cents a piece and will actually mark the first time that downloadable content for a 3DS game will be available in North America.

PSOne Classic support coming to PS Vita with Firmware 1.8

Although the PlayStation Vita probably should have been released with actual support for PSOne Classics, it seems that Sony at least knows when they will actually add it into the handheld. While no firm release date has been given, they did state that Firmware Update 1.8 will implement the support.

Andriasang reports that the company has not yet said how much of the library will be supported or if they will all be available right away. All that has currently been said is that Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy VII will be available immediately. So, at least they are adding in something that should have been done a long time ago. Vita ho!

PlayStation 2 games coming to the PlayStation Store

Ever since Sony took out backwards compatibility for PlayStation 2 games out of the original PlayStation 3, those who wanted to play their classic games either had to do so on their pink PS2s or let them collect dust. Well, now it seems Sony is going to begin re-releasing a few titles digitally on the PlayStation 3.

Sony in Japan revealed that on July 25th they will begin adding PlayStation 2 titles starting with the following five games:

  • Resident Evil Code: Veronica
  • Kessen
  • Shin Contra
  • Dragon Force
  • Siren

Now considering the Japanese PlayStation Store is literally overflowing with games that have not been brought out in the North American PlayStation Store, we shouldn’t get our hopes up quite yet, though future titles include classics such as Dark Cloud, Dead or Alive 2 Hard Core and more. Currently these titles are going to cost anywhere from 800 to 1,500 yen, so roughly $10 to $20 a download.

Dead or Alive 5 Collector’s Edition shown off

While we already know what will actually be contained in Dead or Alive 5’s Collector’s Edition, we never actually saw what the final product would look like. Well those curious about the Collector’s Edition’s appearance need look no further than just above this sentence.

As previously mentioned, the case itself is embossed and made out of steel and in it there will be a soundtrack CD, the game itself, a hardcover artbook, the swimsuit costume code for every female character as well as a poster. Unfortunately for those of you hoping out there, the poster looks like it will not be of Kasumi in a swimsuit but Kasumi in an action pose. This collector’s edition will run you $80 if you feel like picking it up when the game is released on September 25th.

Resident Evil 6 demo available now for Dragon’s Dogma buyers

Anyone who picked up Dragon’s Dogma over the past few months may have noticed that they also received a code to access the Resident Evil 6 demo. Well, at the time these gamers could do nothing but stare at the code due to the fact that it was un-redeemable until July 3rd. Well guess what today is?

When the player redeems the code you have to access the demo by playing it from the Dragon’s Dogma disc, so if you thought you could pull a fast one on Capcom then you are out of luck. The demo itself features three different missions, each one focusing on one of the three different storylines in the game, Leon and Helena, Chris and Piers and Jake and Sherry. It is worth noting that only 360 owners will be able to access the demo today, while Dogma players on the PlayStation 3 will have to wait a couple more months.

Halo 4 multiplayer to require “8GB flash drive” at the very least

If you are interested in playing Halo 4 then you better make sure you have plenty of hard drive space ready because Xbox.com has just revealed a few notes for future players of Halo 4’s multiplayer mode. These notes “highly recommend” using a hard drive with at least 8GB of space. Whether or not all 8GB will be used is still unknown at this time.

Considering Halo 4 will feature the Spartan Ops online mode as well as a number of new multiplayer options, this large number is a bit understandable, but we have still reached out to Microsoft for a bit of clarification about these notes.
