Sleeping Dogs’ star studded voice over cast talk about their time with the game

Although Square Enix’s Sleeping Dogs is under a month away from it’s release on August 14th, only very attentive listeners may have been able to guess who was handling the voice work for the various characters in the game. Well, there is no reason to guess anymore because today the company revealed the below video featuring a number of actors who will be providing voices to main characters as well as side characters in the game.

Wei Shen, the main character of the game will be voiced by Will Yun Lee who has appeared in movies such as Die Another Day and Total Recall. Other names adding their talents to the amazing looking title are Tom Wilkinson, Edison Chen, Parry Shen, Lucy Liu, Emma Stone and more. Check out the video below to listen to these actors talk about their experiences with Sleeping Dogs as well as see a few pieces of gameplay.

Resident Evil 6’s snake boss trumps Resident Evil 1’s

If you didn’t like fighting against the giant snake boss back in Resident Evil 1 then you certainly won’t like the look of the new giant snake that players will have to face off against in Resident Evil 6. Over this past weekend Capcom revealed a new trailer, which can now be seen below, showing off the newest B.O.W. as it attacks Chris and his partner Piers.

Besides the giant snake we are also treated to some other scenes of Leon and his partner running from zombies as the city they are in is overrun. If, for whatever reason, you still don’t know Resident Evil 6’s release date then you can expect it to hit stores on October 2nd for the PS3 and 360 with a PC version coming eventually.

Hideo Kojima himself denies Metal Gear Solid 5 rumors

As you may know, over this past weekend rumors were buzzing that Metal Gear Solid 5 was being shown off behind closed doors, then yesterday we reported that Konami had adamantly denied these rumors over their UK Twitter account. Well, Konami fans were so adamant about getting MGS5 that they still were questioning the logo and images.

Well today these questions have been answered in their finality, because the creator of Metal Gear Solid and the man who would be leading development of the game, Hideo Kojima, has stated that these are absolutely false, saying the following:

“Since I’ve received inquiries about the MGS5 title screen/the announcement made at ComicCon which I had no idea of, I looked up on the net and found the source. But please note that title logo is completely FAKE. I apologize to those who were looking forward. Anyway it proved I can still create the buzz.”

Now of course this doesn’t mean that there won’t be a Metal Gear Solid 5 eventually, it just proves that at least at the moment, whatever Kojima is working on was not shown off at Comic Con and may not even be in a showable state for many months.

Battlefield 4 beta begins Fall 2013

Earlier today it was revealed that Battlefield 4 is, as expected, in development. EA made this confirmation when they revealed that those who pre-order the “Limited Edition” of Medal of Honor: Warfighter will get access to “the exclusive Battlefield 4 beta.” This reveal is a certainly interesting, as the announcement of a game as large as Battlefield 4 happening due to a pre-order bonus reeks of mistake.

At the time of announcement no one knew exactly when this beta would be happening, however EA has since announced that the beta will begin sometime in Fall 2013, which means that gamers can expect an actual Battlefield 4 release sometime in late 2013/early 2014.

Doctor Who Series 7 Peek

When we last left the Doctor, we found out who River Song was, we found out who Amy and Rory were, and we found out how the Doctor died. And Whovians across the world were left with an agonising wait to find out what happens in the continuing adventures of the Doctor.

At San Diego Comic-Con, a Doctor Who panel attended by season runners Stephen Moffat and Caroline Skinner, 11th Doctor Matt Smith, and Companions Karen Gillan (Amy Pond/Williams) and Arthur Darvill (Rory Williams), was held. With the line to get into the 6000+ seat auditorium already in progress at 8 pm the night before, many Whovians braved the night and entered the room to the sound of the Master’s drums.

It was already known that Amy and Rory would be leaving the show in series 7, presumably after an encounter with the Weeping Angels, but new news from the panel were as follows:

  • The series will open with 5 episodes, then follow with a Christmas Special. 8 more episodes will follow in the new year.
  • The first episode of the series is entitled Asylum of the Daleks, apparently with all the old Dalek designs thrown in it.
  • Toby Whitehouse pens the third episode cowboy epic, “A Town Called Mercy“. White house also wrote the second series 3rd episode, “School Reunion“.
  • Chris Chibnall writes an episode entitled “Dinosaurs on a Spaceship”, which Moffat explains that it is what the title exactly is. Chibnall is known for his work on Torchwood, but also wrote the episode “42″ for Doctor Who series 3.
  • Mark Williams, known for playing Ronald Weasley’s father on Harry Potter, will be appearing as Rory’s father.
  • Rupert Graves, known for playing Lestrade on the BBC show Sherlock, will also make an appearance in the aforementioned episode, “Dinosaurs on a Spaceship”.
Other news is as follows:
  • Arthur Darvill will be appearing alongside former Doctor David Tennant on a new show called “Broadchurch”. It is produced by Doctor Who alumnus Chris Chibnall and is about the impact of what happens when the media sensationalism descends on a small town upon hearing of a murder.
  • Matt Smith’s favourite Doctor Who monsters are the Weeping Angels.
  • Karen Gillan to star opposite Stanley Webber in a Scottish Indie film called Not Another Happy Endingthen returning to America to work on a supernatural drama named Oculus.

Nintendo Introduce Mid-Month Club Nintendo Reward

Normally, all digital rewards through Club Nintendo come at the beginning of a month, and expire at the end like clockwork. This month is the start of something new however, as Elektroplankton has expired early (as of July 15th), and a new digital release has already taken it’s place.

Starship Defense is the latest addition, and is a DSiWare romp that plays exactly as you would expect. Players must stop enemies from approaching their base by upgrading their equipment in true tower defense style. You will also notice that this title has a very interesting, grid based visual design, with very little color. Sure, it looks a bit basic, but I am intrigued by the mass simplicity here and it’s a good thing we are seeing rewards such as this, as I didn’t even know Starship Defense existed until now. You can snag this title for 150 coins for a limited time, so get to it and give this smaller release some lovin.
