Kirby fans were all set to break a record for the most chewing gum bubbles blown at once, and that record has now been shattered thanks to Nintendo’s brilliant marketing technique. During PAX Prime, a record 536 fans got together to chew and blow up some fun, and that number was more than enough to enter this group of dedicated gum chewers into the Guinness World Record books, beating out the previous number of 304.
It’s nice to see dear ol’ Kirby being responsible for such a feat, and it’s even more exciting to think we are just a bit under two weeks from seeing Kirby’s Dream Collection from hitting shelves. September 16th, grab a party hat and celebrate folks, as our pink fluff is turning 20.
Back at E3 this year producer of Aliens: Colonial Marines, Brian Burleson, made the mistake of saying that the game will not feature any female characters despite the fact that females played major rolls as marines the Alien movies themselves. Well it turns out that he was simply talking about the demo they were showing off at the time, not the game itself.
Today it was revealed by Randy Pitchford that the reason the company didn’t say anything about the female characters is simply because they weren’t ready to be shown off yet. In fact, Pitchford stated that female characters will be added into the multiplayer mode and will be just as customizable as their male counterparts. To top all that off, there is even a female co-op character as well.
So, do you believe this was always in the cards over at Gearbox or was this something done to quell the fan rage about no female characters? Either way, it is a win for fans of the series and gamers in general no matter what the origin of these modifications were.
I’m not a hunter, and I honestly have never been too into the whole hunting game scene. That being said, I do respect the genre’s existence as there is a market out there for this type of game, and Cabela’s Hunting Expeditions is looking to be a fine entry in the long running series from what we have seen thus far.
Recently, Activision have came out and detailed the firearms players can “shoot dem ‘mals” with, and you can check them all out below:
To fully get the most out of the hunts, players will be able modify their firearms with various specs and attachments. Upgrades can also be purchased using Gunsmith Points. The window to land the perfect kill shot may only be open for a brief moment, prepare accordingly.
To give players a taste of what’s to come in Cabela’s Hunting Expeditions, here are a few of the game’s featured rifles:
Classic .223 Bolt-Action rifle – Take down Whitetail Deer and Springboks with this classic starter firearm.
Elite .243 Semi-Automatic rifle – This is a great, all-around firearm perfect for Mountain Goats and Pronghorn Antelope.
Frontiersman .350 Level-Action rifle – For more dangerous hunts, equip this advanced all-around weapon and face your fear against Lions, Rhinos, Elephants, and Cape Buffalos.
I don’t really get the point of shooting a rhino, but hell, why not…right? Cabela’s Hunting Expeditions is due out October 23rd for the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
It has already been said multiple times that the fifth class in Borderlands 2, the Mechromancer, won’t be available immediately when the game is released on September 18th. However in an interview with Polygon, the CEO and president of Gearbox Software Randy Pitchford revealed that the class should be out “by October 16.”
He did warn however that there “may be a little fudge factor there.” When the Mechromancer is released she will be free to anyone who pre-ordered the title while everyone else will have to shell out an extra $10 to access her content. He also went on to explain that the four downloadable packs won’t just be “here have a couple of guns” but will be comparable to THe Secret Armory of General Knoxx in size.

Yesterday 343 Industries released a new ten minute video that talks a lot about the campaign for their upcoming game, Halo 4.
As they said in the trailer, they are trying to give Master Chief a more human approach because that is what he is, human. They went on to say that his mortality would be tested in the game due to decsions he will have to make and that will affect the franchise and the universe as we know it.
Also in the video, the team went onto discuss how Cortana truly will be the most human character in the game as she will be on the verge of rampancy which causes her to act more human and face the consequences that come from her actions.
Halo 4 will be releasing on November 6, 2012, for the Xbox 360. Check out the video below and let us know what you think of it.
A new map for the Halo 4 was revealed this weekend over at PAX Prime. The new map is called ‘Exile’ and is technically the combination of Sidewinder, Blood Gulch, and Rats Nest all in one map and it is known quite well for its vehicular combat. The map itself was specifically built for the recently shown game types which were Capture the Flag and Oddball.
Capture the Flag has been updated quite a bit, as you are now able to hold a pistol while carrying the flag back to base. You are also able to sprint with the flag back to base but this all comes with one draw back, you cannot drop the flag. They have also added waypoints to the mode so you are now able to see where the flag is located, see how long before the flag responds, and so on.
The game mode Oddball was also updated and you are now able to throw the flag back and forth from player to player which gives the game mode a more active feel so to speak. These updates for Oddball are also in the fan favorite game mode Griffball.
You will be picking up Halo 4 when it releases on November 6, 2012, for the Xbox 360? Let us know leave a comment below.
