New Maps, Modes, Rapid Royale and Dead Space Event Highlight Explosive Season

Sydney, Australia (October 10, 2026) – Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) and Battlefield Studios today revealed a first look at Battlefield™ 6 and Battlefield™ REDSEC Season 5, as the battle arrives in Nevada with the launch of three new maps in Battlefield 6, the introduction of the lightning-fast Rapid Royale in REDSEC, a new Operation, a terrifying Dead Space™ event, and a host of quality of life updates including significant updates to Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City, which change the way players approach each map. 

Season 5 officially kicks off on October 13 with Phase 1 (Siege of Las Vegas) introducing two new maps called Vegas Strip and Area 51. The first brings chaos to the Vegas strip, transforming this iconic spot to an enthralling battleground. Featuring glitzy restaurants, tunnels, and multi-story casinos and hotels, the odds for destruction are high. The second map takes players beyond the lights of the neon city to the perimeter of the clandestine Area 51. Wage war across the desert hills and venture deep into the facility below, in one of the most infamous locations in America.

Phase 1 also includes an all-new way to enjoy REDSEC with Rapid Royale, which will debut at the start of Season 5 and unfold on the Las Vegas strip. Rapid Royale is an intense, compact take on Battlefield’s Battle Royale, with faster rounds and a smaller population of players. In Rapid Royale, the goal remains the same: be the last squad standing. Taking down enemies will give you redeploy tokens that can bring you back into the game, however, as the match goes on, the number of kills needed to earn these tokens increases. Phase 2 (Casino Heist) begins on November 10 with the third map of the season. European Casino is one of the grandest casinos on the strip and deep within its vaults are secrets coveted by both PAX and NATO. This close-quarters combat-focused map is filled with destructible elements, allowing battle hardened troops to open new pathways and discover tactical options.

The season concludes Phase 3 (Frozen Aces) on December 8, bringing an unexpected chill to Las Vegas, plus the debut of a new Operation, which unfolds across both the Vegas Strip and Area 51 in an epic struggle to shift the global power balance.

Corey “Foxxy” Hupe will be heading straight to the first Australian Red Bull Wings Cup National Final this December. Corey, a caster, content creator and former esports pro secured his place at PAX Australia at the Red Bull Wings Cup Wildcard Tournament, “Beat the Streak”, knocking out multiple other PAX attendees competing in “Rush Mode” in EA SPORTS FC™ 27.

“I’m over the moon about the win. I came here this morning thinking I’d have no chance to win and managed to win nine in a row,” said Corey when asked how he was feeling about the win.

It was a nail-biting fish with another esports pro, Matthew McKenna also scoring a streak of nine wins right at the end of the day. The two went head-to-head in a final game to decide the ultimate winner for the day.

“I’m excited to be on the big stage in Sydney for the National Finals but I’m going to take it one day at a time. I want to be the one people remember.”

PAX attendees will have one more chance to win a spot at the National Finals during PAX tomorrow (Sunday). Fans can line up at the Red Bull Wings Cup booth to play in seven-minute sessions, gamers will have to lock in and maintain the highest streak of wins on the leaderboard playing” Rush Mode” in EA SPORTS FC™ 27 to secure victory, in this “beat the streak” format.

SS14 Tartarus begins 15 October

Shanghai, China — October 9, 2026 | XD Games is excited to reveal all the new content and changes coming to Torchlight: Infinite in the game’s upcoming season, SS14 Tartarus, which begins on Thursday, 15 October.

This latest season introduces the Tartarus game mode, wherein players will be tasked with managing a prison in the Netherrealm. This new mode features three different phases, beginning with players tracking down and defeating escaped prisoners in order to collect their nameplates. 

Then, players take charge of a circular prison with 16 available cells. There, they’ll be able to house inmates and arrange strategic fights between prisoners or against fearsome beasts — elephants, lions, wolves, and rats — to hone their skills.

After 20 turns of building, players move to the final phase and the resulting roster of inmates become enemies and bosses for players to face in a new combat challenge that plays out across three prison levels and six levels of difficulty, earning rewards corresponding to the quality and quantity of enemies defeated. 

SS14 also introduces a new Hero Trait: Spacetime Witness Youga. This introduces a new playstyle for the character built around maintaining a continuous spellcasting cycle.

Spacetime Witness Youga’s Clockwork Core that can cast Entanglement skills automatically, while his critical strikes can reduce his ability cooldowns.

Plus, this new Hero Trait offers three distinct development paths — Spacetime Dictator, Spacetime Conqueror, and Spacetime Dominator — and players have the freedom to shape their own Spacetime build by choosing either to combine elements from each path, or to specialise fully into one. 

Spacetime Dictator focuses on projectiles and time manipulation, Spacetime Conqueror instead focuses on movement and linked damage from Time-Rift Traversal, while the Spacetime Dominator path focuses on building up spell enhancements via Spacetime Overload.

SS14 is also set to introduce a new progression system to Torchlight: Infinite. When SS14 Tartarus launches, players will be able to recruit followers from the wolf, rat, lion, and elephant tribes with a new resource called Letters of Introduction. 

Followers allow players another level of build customisation and offer Active and Support Skills such as buffs, protection or debuff support. Players who conquer higher Netherrealm difficulty tiers will in turn unlock access to higher-tier followers.
