Nintendo backtracks on Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon’s Multiplayer

Luigis-Mansion-2-Image-02

This morning, the official website for Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon went live, and while that is not entirely news, the tagline that the listing displayed was certainly eye-grabbing.

Here is the previous paragraph that was listed on the webpage:

With so many new places to explore, all new ways to capture ghosts, and a brand new local multiplayer mode, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon is another star turn for Mario’s heroic brother—and it’s only on Nintendo 3DS.

Of course, that is big news, even though Nintendo have already stated that this sequel would in fact be a single player only experience. Fast forward a few hours later, and the tagline now reads:

With so many new places to explore and all new ways to capture ghosts, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon is another star turn for Mario’s heroic brother—and it’s only on Nintendo 3DS.

This honestly seems like a copy and paste job done from an older press release, and was corrected too late to reflect the game’s present state. Did Luigi’s Mansion even need the said feature? Well..not really. Either way, Dark Moon still looks wonderful, and you can expect this dish to hit the 3DS in March.
