One Piece, Dragon Ball and Toriko collide in new crossover anime

one-piece-toriko-dragonball-crossover
Weekly Shonen Jump’s official website has revealed that a hour-long crossover anime special featuring One Piece, Dragon Ball and Toriko will air on the 7th of April, 2013 bringing Toei Animation’s 2 big series One Piece and Dragon Ball together again as well as bringing the up and coming Toriko into the fray.

The crossover will not be the first time these series have collided as One Piece has previously crossed over with both Dragon Ball and Toriko individually. There are certainly some interesting prospects for this crossover such as the potential to address why Toriko looks so very much like Goku with blue hair.

This anime special appears to tie-in with the upcoming PlayStation 3 fighting game Project Versus J which features characters from these three series in combat.

The war between the Levamme Empire and the Amatsukami Imperium has been raging for years. In the midst of this struggle, the prince of the Levamme Empire declares his love for Juana del Moral and vows to end the war in one year, as part of his marriage proposal. When the Amatsukami catch wind of this, they assault the del Moral residence, targeting Juana’s life. As a last-ditch effort to bring the prince his bride, the San Maltilia Airforce employs a mercenary of mixed blood — a bestado — to fly Juana to the prince in secret. Obscure Teaser Released for New Spin Off

obscure-03

Remember the ObsCure games from Hydravision?  Even if you don’t it might have been hard to expect another game after the studio closed last year, however it seems like gamers will have another shot in the new spin off being released from Focus Home Interactive and Mighty Rocket Studio, itself containing former Hydravision members.

This time the spin off goes in a pretty different direction from the survival horror of the previous games, as the new game simply-titled Obscure (no capital C) is a 2.5D side-scrolling homage to teenager and horror movies.  Based around 4 player characters the new game is set to feature single player or co-op, both local and online.

Focused more on combat than horror, Obscure features characters with unique abilities that level up through the game based on how well they can score in a level.  But, fans of the former series shouldn’t feel too put out by the change in gameplay, as there will be some of the same elements, from Leafmore High School, to old characters.

Obscure is set for release Spring 2013 for the XBLA, PSN, and PC.  Players can check out a gallery of a few shots, as well as a trailer to see the game inaction embedded below.

Rayman Legends delayed to September; coming to 360/PS3

rayman-legends-delay-again

If you purchased you’re Wii U in the hopes of being one of the exclusive group to soon have access to Rayman Legends then we have some bad news for you. Not only has the Wii U version of the game been delayed until September, it is also heading to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

News of this multi-platform release comes as a surprise after Nintendo touted about how the title was coming exclusively to the Wii U and also as a blow to fans of the game. You see, Ubisoft responded to criticisms on Facebook saying “We never want to delay a game and for that we’re sorry. We made the tough decision to push back the release so we could offer it on multiple platforms,” which essentially means that the nearly finished Wii U release has been delayed simply so it can be released alongside the 360 and PS3 versions.

No matter how you take the news, it is good to see that Rayman fans everywhere will not be forced to buy Nintendo’s new console, but Nintendo must not be pleased about this news and with the extra six months of development time, Ubisoft better make sure this game is the best it can be.

First official gameplay trailer released for The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct

walking-dead-survival-instincts-daryl

So far Activision’s own attempt at creating a “The Walking Dead” title has been met with sighs and shaking of heads. However, it looks like the company is going to try and turn things around a little bit by releasing an official gameplay trailer about a month after the “fake” trailer using actual gameplay footage was released to the public.

Anyways, the trailer can be seen below and in it we see how Meryl and Daryl will look in the game as well as a better look at the in-game action and improved zombie appearance. Of course… those who compare this video with the leaked footage will notice that the quality has barely improved but visuals don’t always speak for gameplay.

Anyways, the company also announced that if you pre-order the title from GameStop and Amazon, you will unlock the “Herd Mode” game type and “Amazon Walker Execution Pack” respectively. Herd Mode is a wave based survival mode while the Walker Execution pack adds a survival knife, sawtoothed machete, kukri, reinforced hatchet and advanced machete to you’re melee weapon arsenal.
