Keep the Party Going – and Guessing – in New Word-based Puzzle Game

LONDON: December 5, 2013:  Marvelous Games, a division of Japanese publisher MarvelousAQL, best known for the highly-acclaimed titles No More HeroesHarvest Moon, and RunBot, today announced the release of Wurdy, a highly entertaining new word-based party game on the App Store. Available now on iPhone®, iPad and iPod® touch devices,Wurdy is designed to bring the entire room together – at home, your favourite pub, a friend’s house –  for hilarious ‘shout-out-loud’ fun anywhere you go.

Developed by UK studio SockMonkey, players each have a sixty second round to cleverly and quickly describe a listed word or phrase to their audience using clues that will lead them to the answer. Once someone guesses correctly, players move onto the next word as the clock quickly races to zero. The player with the most points at the end of each round wins, but remember: no miming and no rhyming!

“We fell in love with Wurdy from our very first play,” says Harry Holmwood, CEO, MarvelousAQL Europe.  “People of all ages have always loved playing together – whether it’s cards or classic board games. Wurdy takes that tradition and combines it with the easy accessibility and convenience of a mobile phone – making any occasion perfect for a fun, social game.”

Topics for Wurdy take players through a wide range of subjects that will entertain all types of people including Film/TV, Celebrities, Sports, Animals, Books and even the Kids’ Zone for the wee Wurdy gamer. Premium categories will also be available as in-app purchases, keeping players on their toes and up-to-speed with an array of new topics ,including the latest pop culture news, sporting events and holidays. Each category contains more than 300 words, which will offer endless entertainment to players.

The fun doesn’t stop there, as Wurdy allows players to capture their unforgettable epic fails and verbal victories live on camera by utilising the EveryPlay feature. EveryPlay allows players to record video footage from the perspective of the quizzer, and easily share hilarious videos from their Wurdy funny moments via popular social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Wurdy is available now for £1.49 from the App Store on iPhone®, iPad and iPod® touch devices, with an Android launch coming soon.

Warriors unite: ‘East-meets-West’ action RPG Conquest Age launches on iOS

Cooperation is key as players team up in this world-spanning free-to-play action RPG

LONDON: December 5, 2013: Marvelous Games, a division of Japanese publisher MarvelousAQL, best known for the highly-acclaimed titles No More Heroes, Harvest Moon and RunBot, has today launched Conquest Age, a fantasy action RPG available on the iTunes AppStore.

Conquest Age, developed by Singapore studio Daylight Studios, immerses players in the seven world-spanning regions of the Dracon Peninsula. Players are tasked with uniting this divided land to face the imminent threat of invasion from across the ocean by the land’s ancient rulers, bent on revenge.

Players will have the option of both single player and multiplayer modes throughout each play session, as they can team up in cooperative war conquests, or hire bands of mercenaries and fight alone for supremacy in the arena.  Exploration, weapon collecting and fusion is a key part of Conquest Age as well – even the most common of items can be fused with another weapon to further strengthen it to unlimited levels.

Conquest Age lets players choose to become one of three warrior classes, each featuring their own skill trees for players to develop and shape. These choices will have deep implications on tactics in battle situations. Although it is possible to fight with any weapon, Conquest Age rewards players who best complement their weapon choices with their character build, and use them strategically in the real-time battle system. Battle effectiveness is immediately evident, as each player is ranked on a global leaderboard or against their Facebook friends.

With hundreds of hours of addictive quests, high quality fantasy artwork and a fusion of East-meets-West gameplay, Conquest Age is designed to appeal to both existing RPG fans while being accessible for newcomers.

“Conquest Age is a game we have put our all into; we worked tirelessly to create a game that we could be proud of,” says Don Sim, CEO at Daylight Studios. “It has been a long process of refinement and improvements to make the game as good and rewarding as it can possibly be for players. We are very excited to finally be unleashing our game to the world!”

“As a long-standing fan of RPG games, I was hooked into the world of Conquest Age from the first time I played the game,” adds Jonathan Nevill, Project Manager, MarvelousAQL Europe. “It’s been a pleasure working with Daylight Studios to realise our shared vision – combining the best of Asian and Western gaming to deliver an RPG suited to a global audience.”

Conquest Age is available now, Free to play on iOS – https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/conquest-age/id609524542?ls=1&mt=8

Space Hulk Now Available on iOS

space-hulk-tease

Space Hulk, Games Workshop’s classic 1989 board game set in the infinitely popular Warhammer 40k universe has been turned digital and thanks to the developers at Full Control, has made its way to iPad. Space Hulk is a 3d turn-based strategy game set in the claustrophobic tombs of a derelict space ship. The game tries to emulate the play and tone of the game down to the smallest details to ensure an authentic Space Hulk experience.

Space Hulk is available from today on iPad for the price of $10.49 (grab it here). That may seem like a lot for an iPad board game, but the content you get for that price should more than justify the purchase. If you manage to grow bored of the main campaign, there are three additional campaign DLCs that you can purchase; Messenger of Purgatory ($2.99), Sword of Halcyon ($4.99) and Defilement of Honour ($4.99). If that’s not enough, then the game also boasts cross-platform play with PC and Mac devices for a multiplayer experience you will never forget.

Overkill Software’s Payday 2 is set to introduce a new premium DLC pack on December 5th. The DLC is called Gage: Weapon Pack #01 and will introduce a host of new features and items for Payday 2 players on the PC through Steam. This DLC includes new guns, masks, and mods, with new patterns, materials, and designs. The last tidbits of the DLC will be announced when the DLC pack is put on sale.

Another cool feature that’ll be introduced on December 5th is that you’ll be able to choose what firing mode you’d like to shoot with. Also, more weapon slots will be given to players so that they can store more guns. In fact, there will be more weapon slots available than there are currently with guns. These features will be open to everyone who plays Payday 2, not just for people who purchase the DLC.
