The Stone Age Survival Game That Actually Has Color Is Leaving Early Access August 25

Polylithic, the prehistoric tribe-builder where you can yell at mammoths, wear ridiculous outfits, and cook genuinely awful food, launches 1.0 with its biggest update yet

CZECH REPUBLIC, July 21, 2026 — The Stone Age survival game where you lead a tribe from cavemen to slightly more organized cavemen is leaving Early Access on August 25, 2026, with its most substantial update yet, one that adds companion animals, enemy tribes, BBC documentary-style cutscenes, and enough prehistoric chaos to make history regret letting humans survive.

Set in a vibrant, low-poly world where humans are far from the apex of the food chain, Polylithic casts players as tribe leaders navigating the Stone Age from Paleolithic hunter-gatherer to Neolithic settler, with online co-op for up to 10 players and an infinitely generated Sandbox Mode for those who prefer to skip the instructions and cause problems.

Since launching into Early Access in November 2023, Polylithic has shipped more than 50 updates shaped by direct player feedback, expanding from a solo hunter-gatherer experience into a full tribe-management survival game with online co-op for up to 10 players, a procedurally generated Sandbox Mode, new biomes and a continuously deepening tech tree. In early 2026, Novák announced a deliberate creative pivot — leaning into humor, visual personality and a new cutscene style inspired by BBC nature documentaries and the deadpan narration of David Attenborough,  a shift that now defines the 1.0 experience.

Polylithic 1.0 is a significant expansion of everything the Early Access build established. Players can now customize their character (it’s the Stone Age, somehow), manage a new hunger and body system, adopt a best friend as a dog or hyena companion, emote around the campfire, yell at wildlife, contend with enemy tribes and attempt the new cooking minigame, which generates recipes at random, with predictably chaotic results. The update also brings new story moments, smarter AI, new items, weapons and mushrooms, a major optimization pass and so much more.

“Polylithic 1.0 is not the game I originally set out to make, and I mean that in the best way. Early Access changed it. The community changed it. At some point I realized the game I actually wanted to make was, more chaotic and a lot more willing to make you smile while a pack of hyenas chases you through a bog. That’s what 1.0 is. We built something I’m genuinely proud of, and I can’t wait for people to ruin prehistory with it.” — Pavel Novák, Producer and Art Director, polyperfect

Polylithic launches out of Early Access on August 25, 2026, on Steam, priced at $14.99 with a 35% launch discount. The game supports English, Czech, French, German, and Russian, and has added Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese, and Japanese support for its 1.0.

Post-Apocalyptic Bar Management Simulator On the Rocks Launches New Demo on Steam

Players can now experience the first taste of wasteland barkeeping

Ankara, Türkiye – July 21st, 2026 – Independent publisher 312 Interactive and developer LootBAG Studios today released a brand-new playable demo for their upcoming first-person bar management simulation game On the Rocks. Available now on PC via Steam, the demo gives players the first opportunity to step behind the counter of the last bar worth visiting in a harsh apocalyptic wasteland.

The On the Rocks demo drops players into the year 2635, where endless war has left the world barren. After their travelling convoy is ambushed by raiders, Uncle John, an aging survivor, rescues them and offers shelter in his family’s derelict bar. In return, players must restore the bar by managing supplies, purchasing furniture, and transforming it into the wasteland’s last great hangout. With agile gunplay and melee combat, hunt mutated creatures and extract their volatile fluids to brew unique beers and other concoctions, discovering new recipes along the way. The demo features around 30 minutes of guided gameplay, followed by endless exploration, offering a first taste of the game’s blend of survival, exploration, crafting, and bar management.

“We’re thrilled to finally put the On the Rocks demo into players’ hands and see how they tackle life in the broken world,” said Aysu Ünal, co-founder at 312 Interactive. “The demo introduces the core gameplay loop that defines the game, and we’re excited to see players discover the balance between surviving the apocalyptic desert and running a bar worth coming back to. Their feedback will be invaluable as we continue developing the game.”

On the Rocks is a first-person crafting and bar management simulation game set in a sun-scorched wasteland where clean water has all but disappeared. Players must brave the dangers of the desert to gather resources, refine them using industrial machinery, expand and upgrade their bar, and build a reputation among the survivors who pass through its doors. Balancing exploration, survival, and business management is the key to keeping the wasteland’s last great hangout alive.

CODE YOUR WAY TO CHAOS WITH THE LUA CHIP IN RAGDOLL SANDBOX GAME ‘MELON SANDBOX’

Introducing custom Lua scripts to the highly popular physics-based game.

LIMASSOL, CYPRUS, 21 JULY 2026 | PlayDucky is thrilled to announce a new addition to Melon Sandbox, its physics-based sandbox game: the Lua Chip. The cornerstone of its 36.0 Update, this item is a game-changing addition designed for coders and logic enthusiasts to let their imaginations run wild. For years, Melon Sandbox players have been able to engineer complex contraptions with basic wires, triggers, and node-programming chips. Now, the Lua Chip arrives as a means to inject code directly into the game, bridging the gap between casual sandbox gameplay and full-scale game development and programming.

Mayhem How You Want It

The Lua Chip is a new item that allows players to inject custom Lua script directly into Melon Sandbox. Through coding, players can instantly modify any object connected to the Lua Chip. Players are then able to program specific events, timings, or complex interactions for in-game objects and characters. According to PlayDucky founder, Ivan Fedyanin:

We added Lua because our creators were already reaching the limits of what visual programming could comfortably do. Visual tools are great for accessibility, and people built amazing things with them, but Lua gives creators a much higher ceiling: more complex logic, reusable mechanics, and more game-like experiences.

From dynamically altering a ragdoll’s size or color to creating infinite-speed vehicles, players are only limited in what they can do by their imagination and their handling of Lua code!

According to the development team, the addition of the Lua Chip is not meant to be just a technical feature. Its inclusion is meant to be a tool that lets creators improve their skills and learn more inside Melon Sandbox itself. The game’s lead developer explains:

What I like about this step is that it opens Melon in two directions at once. Our current creators get a higher ceiling and can gradually become stronger developers. And people who already understand programming, but don’t naturally think in visual tools, now have a way in. Even beginners can start experimenting: they can use the Lua Chip documentation,  ask around in different socials to help fix code or write it, paste it into the chip, test it, break it, and learn from that loop.

The Lua Chip and the rest of Update 36.0 are available now across all platforms. Update today and start coding some chaos.

About Melon Sandbox

Melon Sandbox is a thrilling sandbox game where players unleash creativity through brutal experiments with realistic ragdoll physics. Originally launched in 2022, the game encourages experimentation and creativity among its playerbase. Users can test unique interactions between objects–such as vehicles, weapons, explosives, and tools–to create chaos in an open world. A variety of maps are available to choose from–including cities, acid pits, lava, and underwater environments–each with unique physics and different items to choose from. In addition, Melon Sandbox’s Editor allows users to create their own gameplay experiences to share with fellow players. These creations may be uploaded and purchased via the in-game storefront.

Gameplay Features:

  • Experiment With Physics: Throw, smash, and test unique interactions between objects!
  • Massive Arsenal: Use firearms, melee weapons, explosives, and vehicles to tear through ragdolls!
  • Create Chaos: Stab, crush, burn, or vaporize with custom devices!
  • Control Your World: Use the Lua Chip to modify objects with code and dynamically alter your game!
  • Open-World Sandbox: Explore diverse maps and build your own playground of destruction!

Melon Sandbox is free to download. The latest update, including the Lua Chip, is available now on iOS, Android, and browser.

PlayDucky will be attending Gamescom (Aug 26 – Aug 30) in Cologne, Germany this year. Attendees are encouraged to make an appointment or visit the Cyprus Country Pavilion (Hall 03.2, Stand F-030G) to learn more about Melon Sandbox
